I found this interesting as a slice of time. This was written when my father was in his forties, and this was my mother’s book. I wonder if she worried about my father as she read this book. Those were definitely hurricane years for them... we moved twice as my father got promotions, my mother had a bout with uterine cancer, and my sister got married...not exactly something that they wanted before she finished college. I was amazed at how much time the lead character got to spend in the hospital and how much time and effort his doctor had for him...what a different time we are in today! Now women are having heart attacks, as well!

This is an entertaining read, quite dated, but charmingly so. Definitely flawed, but still enjoyable.

Picked it up at a flee market while traveling without a book. Pretty good read with an ironic twist at the end.

Revolutionary

This book is well written letting us so the rat race we are all a part of and how one man is sucked into it. The life portrayed here is the story of many of us . Well written and shows how many of us live today.

Very unrealistic. Maybe when the book was written doctors had personal time to spend with a heart attack recovery patient but so much of the book was just not relevant to today.

A bit tedious but provocative. Tests your perspective on the material dimension of your life.
