This storybook has small illustrations within the text to help beginning readers to read. It helps their self esteem when they feel like they can read on their own. A picture of the tree frogs the child knows to 'read' tree frogs. Or they see Alicia and they can read "Alicia" etc.

This story tells a little bit about tree frogs; what they look like and what they do.

Watch Out Tree Frogs!!

This is a Level 1Reader. Simple words and lots of repetition. There are picture clues in the reading.
Some Tree Frogs need Diego's help. Alicia will tell us all about tree frogs. The camera found the tree frogs. They are in the water. They need help! Diego and Baby Jaguar to the rescue. Read/listen to find out about how the tree frogs escape.

This was an easy one to get my 3 1/2 yr old to want to read since he likes Diego. The picture/words in the text I'm divided on. My son was able to read them along, but I'm not sure whether that's helpful in being able to recognize words or is a little like a crutch.

Level 1 book for Ella. She repeated every word for me, and did much better with her "r's". More diego.
