For toddlers, mastering new skills is just a part of growing up, but sometimes they may find new challenges trying. That's where Elmo, Big Bird, and their Sesame Street friends (including Grover, Zoe, Bert, Ernie, Rosita, and Telly) come in--to show toddlers that when you get stuck, it's OK to ask for a helping hand. This Step 1 Step into Reading emphasizes core Sesame Street values of cooperation, friendship, and trying new things. The short rhyming text will prove popular with toddlers just beginning to read on their own.
Read for my toddler's bedtime. I can button my shirt, I can write my name, I can do things unless I'm short then I need a tall friend to help or I can't tie my shoes but if a friend teach, I can learn it too. A great book for kids to remind them of the things they can do for themselves, and if some things they can't do, they will learn it too.
This is a great book for beginning readers, and has a great message about us all being able to do different things. Some people can do things we can't, and that's okay!!
This is a simple step 1 reading book... not so basic that it has only one or two words per page but small sentences per page. Along with the Sesame Street characters that toddlers love they help a pre reader WANT to read this book. I read it outloud to my almost 3 year old granddaughter and she and I really enjoyed it; basic storyline but the fun was seeing our favorite characters help one another be able to help each other do something they wouldn't have done it alone.
