A new storybook based on Maisy’s hit TV series is here, just in time for the crazy-for-Maisy preschoolers who have been clamoring for more. In MAISY AT THE FAIR Tallulah and Eddie join her on the slide, merry-go-round, and Ferris wheel. Wherever they go and whatever they do, Lucy Cousins’s lovable characters are a delight. Catch them on Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr.!
Lucy Cousins, BA Honours in Graphic Design from The Faculty of Arts and Architecture, Brighton Polytechnic, postgraduate degree from Royal College of Art, is an author-illustrator of children's books. She is best known for her books featuring Maisy Mouse but she has also published other children's books including one about Noah's Ark. She is a mother of four and lives in Hampshire, England. Her own children are the inspiration for her books whose age range is 2-8.
Little one had fun looking at Tallulah and Maisy go on different rides. She wants to go on the rides too but I bet when I will take her to the amusement park, she will chicken out.
Big bold colours, big bold lettering and a very simple story of Maisy and her mates going to the Fair - enjoying rides, getting lost and eating junk food. This book will appeal to children under 5 because of its simplicity, quick to get through and the parents/carers/etc can read this story within a few minutes. Strong chance it could become a 'reread' over and over again for young children but because there are so few words in the story you could probably add your own 'spice' if you feel a need to do so.
Yes, it's a jigsaw puzzle book. I discovered it in my lap, courtesy of the 18-month old who immediately followed it. Really simple, with obvious pictures that made ad-libbing very easy for the out-of-practice. The previously-mentioned 18-month old returned with two additional copies of the same book (thanks, Powell's), which I also read aloud, all differently. Good book.
Reeve loves it. Reeve says: "Maisy and Talulah go on the big slide, so they be positive. So Maisy didn't find Talulah, so that elephant did bounce on the bouncy castle. And Maisy found her and says 'Yoohoo' way up there! So Maisy got cotton candy and said good-bye to Talulah."
