Seducing My Brother-in-Law

Rate this book
Sawyer
Playing in the NHL is all I’ve ever wanted and I’ve worked hard my whole life to be able to professionally play the sport I love. I don’t even mind that I have to stay in the closet… much. Even when it means I have to put up with paying the blackmail demands of a former hookup. But when I wind up getting stranded by a freak snowstorm on the way to my twin brother’s wedding, I barely hesitate to invite the gorgeous young man I just met to spend the night with me. Then I find out I just had a night of fantastic, dirty sex with my new brother-in-law’s baby brother. Crap. Now that I do realize who TJ is… I just won’t let it happen again. Easy.

TJ
My life in Colorado… has not been going the greatest. So, when I serendipitously run into Sawyer Brzycki on the way back to Wisconsin for my older brother’s wedding and we wind up stranded together by a fortuitous snowstorm, I decide to give myself the gift of one night with the hot, older, boy-next-door turned professional hockey player, turned my new brother-in-law. The only problem is that it doesn’t feel like one night was enough. But how do I convince Sawyer that the fact that our brothers are married to each other, I live multiple states away from him, I’m so much younger than he is, and that he’s currently in the closet… aren’t really as big of an obstacle as he’s making them out to be? I guess it’ll just be up to me to have to keep seducing him until he changes his mind.

“We never did fully introduce ourselves, did we?” I held my hand out for him to shake it, […] “Thomas James Reilly. At your service.”

“Oh. And I guess I’ll be seeing you again tomorrow. At the wedding. The one where our brothers are marrying each other.”

This was cute and hot and entertaining. When little TJ Reilly ends up in bed for nearly twenty-four hours of repeated, sweaty sexy times with his older brother’s financé’s twin brother and pro hockey player when their plane gets delayed on their way home to attend the wedding.

Looking into the author’s hockey series “Stick Handling” now to check out some of Sawyer’s team mates’ stories.

4.5 stars. I’m pleasantly surprised with how much I really enjoyed this book! Our MCs in this book are TJ and Sawyer who are the brothers of the MCs in book 1 (Theo and Finn, respectively). They appear quite a few times in this book and I loved their cameos as they have been my favourite couple so far (now tied with these two). This series can be read as standalones but for this book I at least recommend reading book 1 beforehand.

The book starts off with TJ and Sawyer meeting up at the airport on their way to visit their family and only TJ knowing who Sawyer was and didn’t tell him how they were connected before hooking up. I was a little bit uncomfortable with that as it just felt awkward to me. Once Sawyer is aware who TJ is I started to love the story. Their sexual chemistry and banter and just ease of being together was amazing! They fit perfectly together.

Sawyer is in the closet as he is a hockey player but this book was still fairly low-angst with coming out and support from team members with just a little hiccup. TJ was supportive throughout the whole book and it was fantastic to see that.

I really enjoyed this book and feel it was such a great addition to this series. I can’t wait to read the spin-off series by this author about more hockey boys!!

This series just gets better and better with every book! I've been wanting Sawyer's story since I first met him and it did not disappoint! This was such a sweet book, filled with great cameos from previous book couples and the ultimate spicy scenes! Sawyer and TJ were so perfect together from the very beginning, teeming with chemistry and affection that only grew as the book progressed. TJ is so supportive of Sawyer through everything that happened and so encouraging when Sawyer is forced out of the closet. This is definitely the spiciest book so far by Shae and damn did my kindle burn with those scenes!! It was a great book and I cannot wait for the spin-off series coming!

Guess what? Size always matters. There I said it and I’ll do it again. You can’t get the full feeling unless you are on the edge of pleasure and pain. Double dog dare me to do it. Because I will. AND I will enjoy it. Oooo baby will I enjoy it. The bigger the better. Just ram that hot rod right in my a$$ and make me feel it tomorrow. Raw dog that b!tch like you know I want. Spank me too. Watch my cheeks clap back as you just thrust right through my hole. What was I saying? I think I might have gone off the rails a little, no? I was TRYING to say I’m an actual size ho and this book delivered. I could just feel the weight in my hand while I read. I read the entire book with my hand out, palm up just waiting for it to be placed in 😈. The way that I would just rub every inch of it on my body. Wow. I went right back there huh? It’s so hard to focus. In the words of Juno, all I see is pork swords!!
Ok ok ok - yoga breath - I’m ready. This book was exactly the thing to tickle my taint. The chance encounter. The “stranger” hook-up. The close proximity & stranded plot. All of it was just the right angle for me. Delivery was key and I just sat stirring on how everything would work out because it had to work. I mean they basically grew up together… their brothers were getting married!!
Sawyer = smoke show. That’s it, that’s the line. He is 100% smoking f*cking hot, muscles for days, huge c*ck, hockey STAR, long blonde hair, huge c*ck, deep in the closet. He needs just one reason to push out of it. To come out, live his life and just be himself. Aaron (that f*ckwat) was NOT the man; But Teej is 😈
TJ/Teej/Tom/Tommy you are exactly as you seem and were the light in this tale. You have drive, focus and know what you want even when you follow your heart in the wrong direction. The way you just chase what you want and they just nail you. Literally a$$ up, begging, whimpering, you are the size slut we didn’t know we needed.
Amen 🙏 thanks be to the ☀️. You KNEW who he was, KNEW what he could do, KNEW what he would need from you and KNEW that he was to be yours for a night or forever. And also he had a huge c*ck you would die before missing the opportunity to ride that motherf*cker {your words not mine 😝} so you seduced your brother in law… for science and all.

This story starts off with Sawyer hiding from someone at the airport and we learn that he is being blackmailed. The story then diverts to him meeting TJ, in a rather fun way.  After a few issues with airline cancellations the two wind up spending the night together. The intimate scenes start straight away and they are not disappointing. These two are electric together and are just insatiable until Sawyer discovers who TJ is. This book is definitely steamier than the previous ones and gets going straight away. Sawyer and TJ are both fun guys and there is a lot of humour in the story.  Sawyer is in the closet and has a lot of reasons for his decision, TJ is so patient and doesn't make it a big deal so there isn't any angst between them. Sawyer has the blackmail hanging over him which takes him a long time to admit it to TJ. I loved how we heard from Theo and Finn and also got to know Sawyer's teammates. Looking forward to their stories next i Shae's new upcoming series. This was a fun and sexy book with lots of intimacy and I really enjoyed it. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“Don’t you dare call me a puck bunny,” TJ interrupted. He leaned back in the hold I had around his sexy, lithe body and looked me dead in the eyes. “I’m a puck buck. Thank you very much.”

5⭐️3.5🌶️

A low-angst gay romcom that will keep you laughing and fanning yourself the whole way through!

Sawyer and TJ grew up next door to each other but there’s a significant age gap and Sawyer hasn’t seen the young man in years. When they bump into each other at the airport and Sawyer doesn’t recognise him, TJ decides to keep that info to himself in the hopes of a hookup. Then they get stranded together. Then they’re driving to the same small town for their brothers’ wedding so TJ has to come clean. It’s not his best moment but TJ decides no matter what he’s not done with this man - even if it means going back in the closet to protect Sawyer’s pro hockey job.

TJ is such a funny character! Completely comfortable with himself and supportive of whatever Sawyer wants, I couldn’t help but adore him. He’s so eager for Sawyer’s attention and affection and he’s not scared to go after what he wants.. aggressively.

Sawyer longs for a meaningful relationship but fears the fallout from being openly gay so he’s always assumed he’ll be alone until he retires. He’s swept off his feet by TJ and after a few months he’s ready to finally come out and end the blackmail that’s been hanging over his head.

I really enjoyed the struggle around coming out in that environment. It wasn’t an easy decision but TJ never pressured Sawyer or made him feel guilty. And I appreciated that it was a mixed bag when he told his teammates. There’s a nice setup for future characters/books in that scene!

I jumped right in to the series here and had no trouble keeping up, but I’ll definitely be reading the rest asap and I’m excited for the next book!

I received an advanced copy for review - all opinions are my own.

Enjoyed it

This is the 4th book in the Pine Ridge series and we finally get to learn more about TJ’s relationship with Finn’s brother, Sawyer.

I really love this series and the residents of Pine Ridge. I love how the characters are all interconnected and you get to see them all throughout the different books. That said, you could dive in at any point if you chose to without too many issues.

I loved how explosive TJ and Sawyer were and how, after some initial reluctance, they managed to mesh their lives together. I also loved the introduction of Sawyer’s hockey teammates and I really hope we get some more stories there as well!

All in, a really enjoyable book from an author that is starting to become a must read for me

"I'm literally still inside of you and you're already thinking about the next time?"

"Like you're not?"

OKAY. This is officially my favorite Shae Michaels book, and not just because there is a SMORGASBORD of hot AF steam! Although, that definitely contributed to my enjoyment if I'm being honest. Butttt I also just loved TJ and Sawyer. TJ was such an energetic and charismatic MC. He was bubbly and snarky. I loved the banter between him and his hockey playing stud. These two just got on so well together.

I really liked Sawyer too. He could be so sweet with TJ. I honestly think it hurt him more than TJ that he had to hide their relationship since he was still in the closet due to playing for the NHL. And wasn't that a breath of fresh air in a closeted romance. TJ never pressured Sawyer to come out. He knew going in that being together meant jumping into Sawyers closet with him until he retired and not once did he ever make Sawyer feel like he resented him for it. I mean yes, it did weight on TJ a bit not being able to shout from the rafters that Sawyer was his, but he was incredibly understanding about it.

"I finally had that thing that all the players I'd known throughout my years of playing hockey who had partners had. I had someone to call my own.

Except.

Unlike all those other players...I couldn't fucking tell anyone about it."

See what I mean when I say Sawyer was feeling the weight too? I also have to mention how unbelievably AWESOME Sawyers hockey player mates were. And how ecstatic I am that Michaels is planning a spin off series for them. There were definite hints of potential couples that I am hoping come to life. A certain Dutch character. A certain pair of life long "roommates." A similarly named rivalry. And of course an enormous cinnamon roll giant who just NEEDS to be introduced to the joys of male on male fun times. I have a feeling he'd change his tune quite easily. I guess we'll see!

A good book overall – I liked it better than the first in the series, which is the only one I had previously read.

This book started slowly for me and I vacillated at the beginning of it. It starts with an airport almost-hookup, which was pretty hot and creative! I was with them at this point – a good start. Then they get caught in a snowstorm together, and I’m still pretty good with it, even though TJ still isn’t forthcoming about his identity. But, I couldn’t blame him too much. He was having fun and Sawyer didn’t remember him so he just went with it! It was when Sawyer did find out TJ’s identity that I wasn’t loving the story. The chasing was too hard from TJ without enough interest shown from Sawyer. For as much as he ran from TJ, he sure did jump in with both feet when they came back together. I wondered what happened to his scared persona. It seemed to disappear too quickly to be realistic.

BUT letting that go, then I really enjoyed the story when they were together. So while I might not have found Sawyer’s personality shift to be realistic, I was glad because they were super sweet together! Yes, there’s lot of steamy goodness, but it is truly sweet and sugary too! I adored the scene where Sawyer wraps TJ in his bedding like a burrito and rubs it all over him so it will smell like him – so cute!

The coming out for Sawyer was alright, but I didn’t really feel the scene with Murph was dealt with well – why was that just forgotten afterwards? What happened with their friendships? A definite missing link for me.

But a pretty good story with a solid HEA and strong, likeable characters! 3/5 stars

This has been the spiciest addition to this series by far!

TJ is Theo Reilly's youngest brother, younger by 11 years... TJ is on his way to Pine Ride, Wisconsin to attend his brother's wedding. While he's at the airport he runs into his soon to be brother in law... But Sawyer has no clue who TJ is... So TJ isn't going to correct him, not when he can finally get his hands on the star of his fantasies.

I have read all of Shae's Pine Ridge series books and I have thoroughly enjoyed them all. I think I liked this one a bit more because their was more humor and more banter with these characters in this book. Sawyer and TJ were hilarious together, TJ was not going to let Sawyer run away from him, no way!

This one is definitely full of more spicy times than the other books have been. There weren't really any date scenes in this book, just spicy times. Which.. is why I couldn't give it a five star, but! Having said that, I still really enjoyed this book. The way the characters were written, and how they interacted with one another was just so incredible. Not to mention their relationship with one another was so believable!

The puppy scene at the end? Oh my gosh, so adorable!! And Shae included a picture of the puppy!! Talk about cute!!

I really enjoyed reading about Sawyer and TJ, along with seeing past characters make appearances in this book. And! We got introduced to new characters! Maybe potential main characters? We'll just have to wait and see!!

I highly recommend this book, and while you're at it, go purchase the others in this series as well!

I honestly really love this series (aside from book 3…sorry) and it’s safe to say this was a great addition. I like how sweet the couples are with each other and I love how this author doesn’t do the third act break up we read in most every book. No separations or communication issues here. We get to see the couple in an actual relationship which makes me love this series even more.

I thought Sawyer and TJ were really cute together. I wasn’t expecting TJ to be as bubbly and sassy as he was. I also thought Sawyer was a sweetheart. Until he started running from TJ that is…. Speaking of that, I thought the transition from them meeting to being together was a little off. I mean one minute Sawyer is literally running and hiding from TJ at the wedding and then he all of a sudden misses him and needs to get his number asap. It just wasn’t an organic transition. I just don’t get how one minute he wants nothing to do with TJ and the next he’s texting him he misses him?

Also the whole thing with Murphy toward the end? What in the hell was that? He literally flipped a switch within a five minute time frame. From being extremely homophobic to asking if he had a nice ass? Again not a good transition. It definitely took me out of the book.

I did however enjoy meeting the hockey guys. I actually really liked them and I can’t wait for their books to come!!

Someone I don’t like and I don’t think I ever will is Tessa. I’m sorry to say but it gets worse each book. I swear the only thing she ever talks about is finding a guy to take the bed at the end of the night. Idk why she bugs me so much. Im desperately hoping the hockey series doesn’t include her. Again sorry!!

Sawyer is a closeted, veteran hockey player who runs into TJ at an airport on his way to his twin brother’s wedding in Wisconsin. Little does he know during their spicy bathroom encounter, TJ is his soon to be brother-in-law as his brother is marrying Sawyer’s brother. TJ knows exactly who Sawyer is since their families are best friends and close neighbors. However, with the 11-year age gap and Sawyer starting his hockey career early, he doesn’t recognize TJ.

When their flight lands early in Minnesota due to an incoming snowstorm, Sawyer decides to pick things up where they left off and spend the night with TJ.

Once Sawyer finds out who TJ really is, he tries his hardest to ignore their chemistry and put space between them. However, TJ is a persistent fellow and soon their connection explodes.

TJ and Sawyer’s is a sweet, hockey romance filled with banter, sass, and spice. TJ is such a sweet and sassy guy, and Sawyer is so wholesome. I loved all the side characters and their personalities. Overall, I did enjoy this book. If you’re looking for a fun, light read, check this one out!

This is honestly in my opinion, the best book in the “Pine Ridge” series and it’s the 4th one. I absolutely loved reading it! I just loved how the MCs’ brothers were used in the story especially after reading about their story in the earlier book! These type of series are my favorite where you go along on the ride until the end! Definitely more than 5 stars reading from me!

The story focuses on Sawyer, a professional hockey player for a team in Minneapolis was in Denver waiting to get on the airplane to get to Pine Ridge for his brother’s wedding around Christmastime. He saw this hot guy at the Denver International Airport and was tempted to do a quick tryst. What was kinda holding him back was he was being blackmailed by someone who “had” discriminating photos and threatened to “out” him.

It also focuses on TJ, a barista for a coffeehouse in Denver who was at the airport for his brother’s wedding as well. They decided to go ahead and do a quickie in one of the bathroom that was closed for repairs. However, that was interrupted by a worker. However, TJ recognized Sawyer as the guy he had a huge crush on while growing up in Pine Ridge since Sawyer was one of the neighbors. It turned out TJ’s brother was marrying Sawyer’s brother, Finn but Sawyer did not recognize TJ. That’s where I’m going to stop and have you pick up the book to read to find out how all of this entails. Such a wonderful book!

I absolutely loved this book. I did not think I would like it because of the cheesy cover, but I am so glad that I took the chance. The book was well-written and had genuine emotion and connection. The MC’s had an instant connection and their chemistry was amazing. TJ was vivacious and such a sweet and sassy power bottom. Sawyer was fun and flirty, but it just broke my heart because of his fears of being outed in such a masculine sport. I just loved how they interacted and it was hilarious when Sawyer kept running away from TJ at the reception, but when TJ surprised Sawyer at home several weeks later, he just grabbed him and hauled him up over his shoulder and like a caveman, dropped TJ on his bed. I loved that! The steamy scenes were well-written and had me clamoring for more. I enjoyed the dynamics between them and watching their romance blossom over time. They just fit so perfectly.

This is the fourth book in the Pine Ridge series and while you can read this book as a standalone, I highly recommend reading them in order, as there are some great past characters in this book. I signed up for a review for this book having never read the others, but I liked it so much that I went back and read the previous three books and then re-read this one again just for the fun of it, and I am very glad I did.

OK these two are adorable. Sawyer is a closeted pro hockey player currently at the airport to get home for his twin brother's wedding. He has to hide in the bathroom when he sees the former hookup that's been blackmailing him for months, threatening to release proof of his sexuality to the media unless he pays him thousands of dollars every month. TJ, the younger brother of the guy Sawyer's brother is marrying, also happens to be at the airport and sees Sawyer duck into the bathroom and follows him.

Sawyer does not recognize TJ and TJ decides to keep the fact he knows Sawyer a secret because he's dying to hook up with him and doesn't want to risk it. Eek! The two of them get rerouted to another city on their flight home and end up spending the night together before driving the rest of the way. I don't want to spoil how Sawyer eventually finds out who TJ is, but let's just say it's hilarious and TJ won't let Sawyer get away just yet. TJ is a little ball buster and I love him.

🔥: So steamy! These two get spicy together and even a bit kinky when it comes to location. Their scenes are medium paced with all the graphic details.
😆: TJ cracks me up. Him and his siblings are a riot, and Sawyer's teammates are pretty funny too!
😭: No tears here, unless they're happy ones!

These two are the cutest and you can't help rooting for them. I want more!

With this incredibly spicy, sweet, and swoon-worthy story, we say goodbye to the guys of Pine Ridge for now. Sawyer’s twin, Finn, is marrying TJ’s brother, Theo. We all remember Finn and Theo from Finn’s fake boyfriend, yes? Well, now it’s time for Finn’s closeted, currently being blackmailed, NHL-playing brother to get his own happy ending.

When TJ and Sawyer first hook up, it’s in the airport bathroom and, while TJ recognizes Sawyer, Sawyer doesn’t recognize TJ as someone he literally grew up next door to. Which is fine, because TJ wants Sawyer and even their age gap, the fact that they’re about to be Brothers-in-Law and that TJ has a whole other life in Colorado aren’t enough to keep TJ from making it happen.

Can Sawyer look past who TJ is, their age gap, the fact that he’s being blackmailed and that he’s still closeted in order to accept his seductive soulmate?

What happens when the little kid you grew up down the street from turns out to be your recent hookup and your brother-in-law?! Oops. Blame the snowstorm.

This was the most flirty of the series. It was also sweet and steamy. The closeted hockey player, dreaming of the day he can be out, after he’s retired that is. But all that is flipped on its head the day he runs into TJ at the airport.

"I finally had that thing that all the players I'd known throughout my years of playing hockey who had partners had. I had someone to call my own.

Except.

Unlike all those other players...I couldn't f*cking tell anyone about it."

These two make a great pair, and I love how much they were both willing to give to be together.

You also get some lovely glimpses of Finn and Theo tying the knot, and you get to meet some hockey hunks. Bonus points for both of those things!

Another fun addition to this series and in some ways I felt a little like a return of the first one which was kinda fun (like a bonus epilogue in a roundabout way). The book focuses on Sawyer and TJ, the brothers of Finn and Theo, respectively, and have returned home for their wedding. This is a fun read with a light and easy vibe to it and definitely some humor along the way.

Sawyer’s character is a current NHL player and is facing issues in trying to keep his persona life private from the media. He’s jumpy at times and after realizing who TJ actually is after their encounter, tries to keep away from him. I really enjoyed TJ’s character-he’s persistent without being annoyingly aggressive and knows what he wants. He’s confident in who he is and seems the perfect compliment to Sawyer who needs that and support in his life.

Am I totally looking forward to a spin off hockey series from this author. Absolutely. From the brief introduction of the players on Sawyer’s team, they seem like an interesting bunch of characters and looking forward to reading more about them!.

Sawyer and TJ meet by chance at the airport when they are both there for the same flight and Sawyer is trying to avoid the previous hookup that has been blackmailing him for the last 6 months. Their bathroom hookup was excellent until they were interrupted by construction workers.

Their flights get rerouted to Milwaukee and Sawyer ends up giving TJ a ride to his place where things heat up even more. At this point, TJ hasn't told Sawyer who he was and when it is finally revealed, Sawyer is hesitant to proceed because he doesn't want to be blackmailed again or be outed to anyone publicly. They both can't deny the hot moments they have together and can't stay away.

This book had it's funny moments as well. I'm glad we get introduced to the rest of the hockey team and seen cameos from the characters from the previous books.

TJ and Sawyer were so good together.
A forced proximity situation stirs up a storm between them.
TJ is aware of who Sawyer his because their brothers are getting married to each other but he conveniently keeps that important piece of information to himself because, well that's his Christmas present to himself, ok!?
When they end up home together, TJ makes it abundantly clear that he's going to continue chasing after Sawyer.
Which he then proceeds to do.
TJ was so sweet, utterly adorable, ridiculously sassy and hilarious.
Sawyer is a great guy but a little bit lonely due to constructs of his own doing and he's also dealing with a not so great situation.
TJ torpedoes into his life and brings so much joy and laughter.
The chemistry between them was instantaneous and scorching hot.
I loved these two together.

Too. Much. Sex.

This had a set of good characters who were cute and funny. If they did more than have sex this would have been a fun read.

There was a ‘WTF’ moment near the end of the book that made me quite angry. TJ takes a picture of Sawyer’s d*ck when he’s a sleep to share with his brother who is married to Sawyer’s twin brother. TJ’s brother wanted to see how identical Sawyer was to his husband. I’m not sure why the author thought that’d be funny but stuff like that really pulls me out of a story. It’s messed up and considering Sawyer is blackmailed throughout this book with pictures taken at his most vulnerable, you’d think his own boyfriend would never do that.

The hockey element is non existent. Sawyer is a hockey player if you’re expecting there to be more…there isn’t.

I liked Sawyer and TJ as characters, they were different to their siblings but still had qualities of them to show they were related to them. This book had more happening/at stake than any of the other books but it was still not a high stakes or high drama book. Everyone generally accepted everything and everyone rather quickly when it all came out.

I liked that Sawyer was a real softie at his core and cared about his family, his team and TJ and didn't make decisions without thinking about how it would affect them. TJ definitely had a distinctive and determined personality - at points it felt a bit too determined with the persuit of Sawyer when he had said no at the wedding -however it all worked out for the best between them and he chilled out slightly.

A quick, easy and enjoyable read.

A cute friends to lovers book

This was my first Shae Michaels book and it was so sweet!!!!

While you may expect age gap and sports romance from the description, really you just get a lot of squishy, adorable sweetness 😍

Sawyer is a whole lotta hockey hunkness that does not want to be the first "out" NHL player.

TJ is his much younger neighbor from back in the day... and soon to be brother-in-law.

Chance and circumstance brings them together and then you have 🥵🥰🤯😍❤️❤️❤️❤️

I struggled a bit with the writing in the beginning. Shae tells a witty... wordy... story 😘. As I kept going, I really enjoyed the story and the characters.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this story but this story was really good. I mean, what's not to like about a sweet hockey story, especially when it starts with a big hunky hockey player hiding in an airport toilet.
Hockey player Sawyer meets sassy TJ at the airport and there's an instant chemistry. Sawyer doesn't realise that TJ is actually his brother in law's brother. But they have a hot night together and TJ is determined to continue something with Sawyer but he's still in the closet due to his hockey career. But when TJ comes and stay with Sawyer they grow closer. I really enjoyed reading this and it had me hooked from the start.

When I got my hands on this is squeaked.

Shae is becoming one of my fave Mm authors and this book just cemented that sentence! I love hockey romance and while I haven’t read many that are Mm after this book I will be diving into the trope.

This low angst romance is filled with cute moments and lots of tension between the two MCs. After seeing bits and pieces of these two in the previous novels in this series when I saw this was their book I was so excited and far from disappointed. Shae has a way with words that gets me hooked into her characters stories and has me falling in love alongside them.

Can’t wait to read more by Shae!

3.5 stars rounded to 4

Total rom-com feel - lower angst, sweet, funny. Sawyer and TJ are en route to their brothers’ wedding when they meet up the first time, have the typical travel problems one would expect in the Midwest over the winter holidays, make it in time, and then go from there. The cover fits the book more than the title - like the others in the series, this is fun and frothy. A heavier side plot adds a bit more heft than the last two in the series had, but it is resolved in a low-key manner (I’d say almost too low-key), and the two protagonists themselves are probably my favorite couple so far.

Airport hook-up - check, forced proximity due to weather - check, finding out you have been seduced by your new brother-in-law and he was the little kid down the street - priceless!

I think this was the Shae Michaels book that I had the most fun with... it was sweet, steamy and had laugh out loud funny moments. It was also so endearing that TJ didn't push Sawyer to be out or to do more than he could, even to his own detriment... It was also lovely to see Finn and Theo get married!

I'm looking forward to seeing where Shae Michaels spins off to a new series - hopefully following some more hunky hockey players around the NHL on some of the fun teams that were created for this world!

3.5 stars. I liked this overall, but had some nitpicks. The good: the characters were cute together, and, considering we have a closeted athlete and a weird family dynamic, it was fairly light on drama. The nitpicks: the older character (Sawyer) is 33 and has not heard of sexting?? The younger guy (TJ) also uses a lot of text abbreviations like SMH that I don't think actual young people use anymore. The biggest issue (possibly this is bigger than a nitpick even) is that TJ sends his brother a naked picture of Sawyer, while Sawyer is sleeping! This is unacceptable on so many levels, and everyone just laughs about it.

Very Spicy

Celebrity romances are not really my thing. Pro sports players fall into that category for me. Also, I tend not to like stories where the characters knew each other growing up, and stories where the relationship is all about sex.

This book is all of those things. Well, Sawyer was 11 years older than TJ and moved out of town when he was still in high school, so he only knew TJ until he was 5, so it's less weird? Anyway, despite these thematic problems, I enjoyed the story. There's a lot of hot sex, a giant blue chicken, and a surprisingly mature relationship considering TJ is so young.
