This is a short story that was free for Kindle.
Interesting premise - what will really happen when the European super collider is activated.
Well, it opens a rift to another planet. The world is under attack by "Steelies," the creatures that came through the rift. The gamma radiation and EMP wiped out Europe and the creatures have spread all over the world.
Lt. MacWilliams, his mechanic Private, and a scientist are traveling across America checking on what's left. They find a settlement that has escaped the Steelies. But, why?
The discovery of why may just change the outcome for humans.
Good story. Recommended.

I think this post-apocalyptic short story is one of those things you gotta be in the right mood for, or you won't enjoy it. Well, I was in the right mood. Love the fight sequences, especially oiling the windmill to get it going again, and I seriously need to drive that Humvee downtown, not excepting the rooftop machine gun. Okay, the romance is cheesy; I think it's supposed to be, and if so, it achieves its goal. The offbeat characters work for the offbeat story and best of all, the series opener stands alone. Can't wait to read more. Thanks for the read, Mr. Angel!

Originally published in 2011.

Set in a future America where the world has been invaded by inter-dimensional space aliens that are a living bio/tech hybrid, this dystopian series is full of action and does not offer much in the way of subtlety.

The world has been overrun by strangelets - the cutesy nickname for creatures that can rip apart a human being in seconds. This was accidentally caused by a supercollider that opened up a rift that released an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that destroyed electronic systems across the world.

I received this book for free way back in 2011 and it was quickly buried under hundreds of free Kindle book offers that I've found over the years. I was flipping through the list of books that I have not read and the title caught my attention. I have no idea how Spam is involved.

I found this book to be intriguing, even if it was simplistic. The only real problem I have is this: 49% of the book is the story I picked and 51% of it is a sample of another novel. To me, it felt like a rip-off and I didn't pay anything for the book.

I rate this kindle book 3 stars out of 5.

Watch out for those steelies

I enjoyed this book so much that I didn't even realize how fast I read it! There was no lags in action. Every minute seemed to bring a new dilemma and then the way out! I was impressed by that! So many post apocalypse books draw things out,but not this one! I do read a lot of them and I can assure you, this is one of the best! Can't wait to read the rest of his writings!

Different take on apocalypse

This had a different take on apocalypse for all of the others that have come out recently. I was glad there were no zombies. The book was very entertaining. Like all sci fi it lacked character development, but was still a fun book to read.
I was given a free copy of this book to read and review.

Ugh

So. Many. Metaphors. So. Much.hyperbole.
The story has promise, if you can get past the metaphors, similes, and hyperbole in every other sentence.

Steelies?

Weird stuff but interesting to read. Don’t know if I’ll get more to read as science fiction isn’t my bag.
Probably leave this right where it rests.

I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I am so pleased I purchased these books. I love monster stories and sci fi. This book is creative, funny, suspenseful, and the characters are well developed. Surprises on every page.
