About the author

Marc Tolon Brown is perhaps best known for his series of children's books about Arthur the aardvark, which was turned into an animated television show on PBS. Brown is a three-time Emmy Award winner, for his role on the television show inspired by his books.

He lives on Martha's Vineyard and in New York City with his wife, Laurie Krasny Brown. He has three children, sons Tolon and Tucker, and daughter Eliza. The names of his two sons have been hidden in all of the Arthur books except for one: Arthur's Tooth.

'Buster was sitting on the balcony outside his apartment. He was practicing his detective skills, especially his powers of observation. The sky, he noticed, was blue'. 😂😂

Just a good old nostalgia read that I picked up at a thrift store. I loved these chapter books as a kid, and read several of them multiple times!

I loved both the Arthur books and TV show as a kid, and rereading this definitely made me nostalgic for how creative the franchise was. I at least remember seeing the episode for this plot - the eating french fries with a fork part stuck out to me, and I really enjoyed the theme about not comparing yourself to others. Arthur is a series that I don't know how long it'll go on for, but if I have kids, I'd love to introduce to them.

Arthur is jealous when the Brain comes to stay with his family for the weekend. He seems to be the perfect "brother" and he is convinced that he is showing him up in front of his family. When he visits the Brain at his house, he finds out that he's not perfect, just polite and well-mannered!
