A well done guidebook as stated on the cover "by and for St. Louisans" it does a good job of not only highlighting food and fun things covering all the individual parts of the area but also includes short and interesting historical thumbnails of the different communities. I had only one quibble...they left out the best BBQ in STL - Bogart's in Soulard. Not just my personal opinion but also top ranked for several years by a variety of sources including the Riverfront Times.
This was a good book about St. Louis. I learned that I still have a lot to see, which I am very happy to have learned! I love visiting all things St. Louis!
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to visit St. Louis spots. It includes restaurants and shopping in the various areas.
I think I might need to buy this book to use as a references. There was a lot of information in it.
It's not the kind of book you read back to front, but one that endures sitting in your car in the hot sun, dog-eared, stained by food and the elements that are recommended to you between it's covers. This book can convince you to spend your next vacation in St. Louis.
We just moved to MO and this is the best guide to local places instead of tourist places. Gives some brief history of each neighborhood and then lists places to go and things to do. Do what the natives do? Then this book is for you.
