Comparing four popular translations in parallel columns. The King James Version, The Amplified New Testament, The Living New Testament, The Revised Standard Edition.
Books can be attributed to "Anonymous" for several reasons:
* They are officially published under that name * They are traditional stories not attributed to a specific author * They are religious texts not generally attributed to a specific author
Books whose authorship is merely uncertain should be attributed to Unknown.
This Bible has been in my possession for quite a number of years. Even though the four version have been overshadowed by more recent versions (such as the NASB, NIV and The Message), there is still great value in each one and to have them side by side for the entire New Testament is a plus. The Amplified New Testament is very descriptive giving you several words that could be used in the text along with supplying Old Testament references throughout. The Revised Standard Version was I am guessing very popular at the time it came out that gave us a contemporary translation to supplement the King James Version of old. The Living New Testament is a paraphrase and actually is the easiest of the four to read. And of course, the King James Version is what I grew up with and memorized in my early life. I tended to read the Living New Testament the most and it was a benefit to go through the entire New Testament from start to finish in less than a year's time.
