Interesting, but not always entertaining. I liked comparing this fictional read to what actually happened in WWII. But, the story went into details about the war that went on and on and on, slowing the story down way too much.
The book is simply the serial magazine episodes presented as a chapter each. Not great literature as it was primarily intended to hook the audience into buying the next issue. The author jammed the plot line with scenarios he had been peddling as a "military expert" for some years, A number of which the actual war would show were impossible. The author showed the greatest forethought when he set the story in 1945 (publishing in 1940) which greatly reduces the implausibility by giving the bad guys five years to make them happen.
