I have been looking forward to Max's story and I am LOVING seeing this side of him. He and Harper's love story is so natural and unassuming; boy meets girl (and her daughter) and falls head over heels. There isn't relationship drama between them, only Harper moving away from her past life and settling into her new one at Badger Creek Resort. Their chemistry is 🔥 and the parallel they've given to Harper's life as a single parent is so realistic, which I appreciate.

I've really enjoyed the first 2 duets in the series and the cliffhanger ending of this book has left me on the edge of me seat!! I can't wait to read the second book in the duet, Forget Me Not, and see how they navigate these challenges together.

Thank you to Authors Claire Raye and the Author Agency for providing me with an ARC of both books in the series! All opinions shared are my own.

I am so happy to be back at Badger Creek, I absolutely love this group of characters. The writing and storytelling these authors give us always keeps me coming back book after book.
Seeing a different side of Max in this book has been fantastic, I didn’t want to put it down.

Like Max, I too was captivated immediately by Harper and her daughter Sammie (who is the most adorable, curious and fun little 4 year old). Harper has quite the back story, and your heart goes out to her. I loved ever ounce of strength she displayed from the very first page.
I enjoyed watching as Harper‘s personality and confidence really started to shine as she and Max got closer. She had a beautiful journey.

Max deserves his own little shout out, I don’t think I swooned so hard in a while, he is playful, sweet, supportive and overall wonderful book boyfriend material. The way he cares for Harper and Sammie is the best.

The friendships really popped during this book as well-this is just a wonderful group that are really more like family. The guys are hilarious, and the girls are what we all should have!
Seeing them instantly take to Harper and Sammie warmed my heart, this was the exact fresh start they needed.

Let’s just talk about the cliffhanger we were left with! Shocking, heartbreaking and wonderful! As usual Claire Raye always leaves us wanting and needing more.
I can not wait to see what will happen in book 2 and how these two will get the HEA they truly deserve.

Forget Me is 5th Book in the Badger Creek Duet Series and the 1st part of Max & Harper’s Story.

Harper wants a fresh start, a start where she isn’t controlled by Sammie’s father. Sammie is the 4 year old sassy lil kid of Harper and when they reach Tahoe. The first thing in Harper’s list is to get the job

She stubbles upon Badger Creek and is given the job for housekeeping.

Max is the medic in the Badger Creek during the ski season & otherwise the EMT. He is also the brother of Zoey, Harper’s boss.

When Max sees Harper, he knows she is different from the rest and makes effort to make Harper and her daughter feel welcomed 💕🥹

I loved the efforts Max out for Harper…
Max’s love language is Quality Time & Words of Affirmation 😭

Harper is learning how to live her life alone but how to also lean for help from others.

I loved how everyone in Badger Creek made Harper feel like home not only with words but with action..

Sammie had everyone wrapped around her finger and that was the cutest thing throughout the book 😭😭

This book is a sweet romance and since the beginning I knew the second part of the duet is going to break my heart 😭😭

Read this book if you like:
🎀 Small Town Romance
🌙Single Mom
🎀 Fresh Start (secret past)
🌙found family
🎀sassy kid
🌙MMC is an amazing father figure

Book two will revolve around

🔥Memory loss
🔥Abusive ex
🔥Winning her over again
🔥Strong heroine

Forget Me is book one of Max and Harper's duet and book five in the Badger Creek Duet Series. A two-part, slow-burn, single parent, new adult romance. Forget Me must be read before Forget Me Not in order to enjoy the full story.

We meet Harper and her daughter Sammie on a bus to Badger Creek. She is wanting to start fresh in a new place. She winds up getting a job at the local resort. Max is the sister of Zoey, who gave Harper the housekeeping job.

This is a slow burn romance, but between the chemistry building between Harper and Max and Sammie's sass and one liners, you want to keep reading.

But the cliffhanger....dang. my heart.

Thank you so much to the Author Agency and the author for an arc of this story!

As soon as this hit my kindle, I devoured it. I had been waiting to learn more about Max and he blew me away. Harper was coming into Badger Creek with Sammie looking for a fresh start they both desperately needed. The last thing she imagined was Max. Max was instantly all in with Harper right away, he was so sweet and attentive. Once again we get to see other characters from past books and I love the found family they have with each other so much. They welcomed Harper and Sammie in no questions asked. As Harper is learning to trust and ask for help, it was nice to see good things happening for them. When the end of the book came, I can honestly say I gasped out loud and did not see that coming! It pulled me in even deeper, and I’m not sure how I’m supposed to go on now. Claire Raye never disappoints with their duets. Too soon to wish for book two? Maybe, but I’m anxiously waiting for it.

Well, I didn't think Claire Raye could top Zoey and Ethan's story in Hate Me and Hate Me Not....

They did.

Harper Neely arrives in Badger Creek escaping an abusive ex with four-year-old Sammie in tow. After booking into the run-down motel, Harper goes on the search for a job and finds herself one with Zoey Holden as a housekeeper.

At the same time, Zoey's brother, Max, has popped into see her, and the attraction between Harper and Max (who I'm now dubbing Harpex) is instantaneous.

Upon hearing where Harper is staying, Zoey offers her lodgings at one of the staff bungalows, which becomes home for her and Sammie.

Max gently gets to know them both, and a beautiful relationship blossoms with Harper. Max also becomes a father figure for Sammie, which seems natural and beautiful.

Max's softer, emotional side shines through in Forget Me. He looks after Harper and Sammie and introduces them to his family. The love that he showed them warmed my heart, and the spicy scenes were on fire!

As with the other duets in Badger Creek, Forget Me ends on a cliffhanger, and it teared me up. I knew what was coming from the teasers, but what made it hurt to the core was the love that Harper and Max had for one another and the hope for a future they both had, as did Sammie.

Forget Me seemed to be more serious than the first two duets, but Claire Raye pulls it off magnificently. If I did star ratings, it would get 6 out of 5. Even with the cliffhanger, this book is bang on!

Forget Me is the first book of Max and Harper’s duet and book five in the Badger Creek Duet Series. These books are standalone , I haven't read any books from this series
Harper Neely wants to start over with her four year old daughter, she wants to make a better life than the one they already had, but she's always thinking of her past.
Max Holden is one of Badger Creek's bachelors, no woman has caught his eye until Harper shows up.
I loved this book and the cliffhanger !!! OMG I can't wait to read the next book thanks to The Author Agency and the author for this ARC !

Forget Me is book one of Max and Harper’s duet and book five in the Badger Creek Duet Series. A two-part, slow-burn, single parent, new adult romance. Forget Me must be read before Forget Me Not in order to enjoy the full story.

This a story about
Harper Neely A single mom, running from an ex who feels dangerous and apparently doesn’t give a shit about his child or her mother. And then there’s Max Holden. He’s Badger Creek’s most eligible bachelor, handsome and hardworking, but no girl has caught his eye. That is until Harper shows up, mysterious and new to the quaint little ski village, she’s all Max can think about.
But Harper’s past keeps her guarded and when she finally lets Max in, their bond is severed in the most unexpected way

“I love you, Harper and I’m going to spend every day proving to you that what I feel is real and who I am is real. Every day until you believe me, okay?”

Even though Harper is so independent, hardworking and outgoing. Max does everything in his power to support, help and stand by her.

She’s making friends; she now has a home and life’s becoming worth all the hussle while moving because she met the most amazing man ever.

They get along with each other and Maxs family and friends becomes hers as well and even though this book ended in a cliffhanger…I have never been so certain I have to read the next book!

This is an absolute must-read, and I can't help but give it a glowing five-star review. From the very first page, this book had me completely hooked, and it's a rollercoaster of emotions you won't want to miss.

Harper's journey to a new life and her found family in Badger Creek is incredibly heartwarming. It's a reminder of the power of second chances and the warmth that can come from building a strong support system in the face of life's challenges. Max Holden, the town's most eligible bachelor, is a swoon-worthy hero. His connection with Harper is beautifully written, and you'll be rooting for their love story every step of the way.

The way Claire Raye crafts the slow-burn romance between Harper and Max is nothing short of magical. You'll find yourself cheering for Harper as she gradually lets her guard down and allows Max into her heart. Trust me; when that moment finally arrives, tears will be shed, and your heart will be overflowing with emotion.

Sammie, Harper's smart and sassy four-year-old daughter, is an absolute scene-stealer. Her interactions with the other characters add so much depth and humour to the story that you can't help but fall in love with her.

And that cliffhanger ending! It's a real nail-biter that will leave you on the edge of your seat, eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

In conclusion, their story is a breathtakingly emotional romance that will tug at your heartstrings and make you feel deeply connected to its characters. I can't wait to see where Claire Raye takes these characters next. If you're a fan of romance novels that blend sweetness, passion, and heartwarming moments, this book is an absolute must-read. Don't miss out on this incredible journey!

Usually I don’t read duets because I hate not knowing how the story ends. This book is sooo good though! It’s a slow but steady pace. Really shows the relationships build naturally.

Harper and her daughter traveled cross country from FL to Tahoe, Ca for a fresh new start. When they finally land they head to the sketchy motel because that’s all Harper can afford. Having limited funds, Harper knows getting a job is #1 priority. The day after they arrive they head to a local lodge. Landing a job as a housekeeper that comes with on sight day care & a staff bungalow she can rent is a huge relief for her. On her way out of the interview she runs into the her boss’s brother, Hunter. She knows that she can’t even think about anything with a cute guy but he definitely makes her heart warm.

Hunter is part time town paramedic & part time ski medic. He’s also the towns #1 bachelor. Coming from a well known family and money, every lady wants him. He’s not interested, until he meets Harper. She’s mysterious to him and he’s very intrigued.

He attempts a few times to get to hang with her but she shuts him down. That is until he gets her into the bungalow before she though, she feels like she can give him a shot. Dating with a kid is hard but also coming with a kid and Major trust and relationship issues, Max has his work cut out for him.

This book ends on a cliff hanger and I can’t wait how they’re going to spin it into the next book!

I got totally hooked on this story. And while I was reading, I was so anxious, cause I knew something was coming but just didn’t know when or how, lol

Harper moved to Badger Creek with her daughter to start fresh. She needed to get away and this was her stop. She had to get a job to support them, so when she walks into the Badger Creek Resort and meets Zoe, it’s like the universe is finally smiling down on her.

Then she meets Max and it’s like fate finally decided to go her way. He is amazing and sweet and all he wants is to be with her and take care of her and her daughter. And even though she has told him bits about her previous life, maybe its best to leave everything in the past…

This story was so good, and like I said I got hooked and literally read in one go. Harper and her daughter were just amazingly sweet, and everything points to the fact that something terrible happened in her past and she needed this fresh start. Max… Amazing guy, sweet, adorable and protective and he immediately fell for Harper and not to mention little Sammie. And he knew he had work to do to get her to trust him and to take care of them. And just when everything seemed to go their way, boom…

That cliffhanger was hectic, I was freaking shocked. And I am so anxious to see what happens next cause I know its not going to be good ☹

I have been patiently (impatiently) waiting for Max’s story and it hasn’t disappointed me! He is such a sweetheart, young but responsible, not afraid of working hard. He strives to follow his own path even though he has a huge legacy that he could fall back to. He works as an EMT, as he loves both the adrenaline and being able to help others.

Harper and her daughter Sammie (4 years old) is desperate for a fresh start. Her past is still mostly hidden in the first book in this duet, but we know it isn’t good. She manages to secure a job at Badger Creek and meets Max. They are drawn to each other and Max is intent on proving he is a good guy who she can relay on for both her and her daughter.

They are just so sweet together, so many touching moments between the three of them and Max showing how a positive relationship should look like. Max is just adorable with Sammie, honestly my heart just melted.

This is book 1 so does finish on a cliffhanger that made me drop my kindle! Luckily book 2 is available too so I’m jumping into that one now!

I highly recommend reading this book, but for best enjoyment I’d start with the first duet Hate Me and Hate Me Not.

Badger’s Creek bachelor EMT Max fell hard and fast for Harper and Sammie. The second he laid eyes on them he was a goner. Harper was a little more guarded when it came to a relationship and really any help when it came to her life and Sammie. However, she couldn’t deny the chemistry that she had with Max.

Harper hasn’t had an easy life, but she gets a fresh start for her and Sammie. She finds something she never thought she would in Badger Creek. I love her strength, she is caring, and she is protective. She’s learning to let go and let people in. Max…he’s a big softie and I love everything about him. I love how he is with Sammie and how protective he is. The man just makes you swoon.

The bromance….I am here for it. Plus, I love the girl gang, too.

Sammie is a little scene stealer. She’s a sassy little girl and its no wonder that she quickly won over the heart of Max and the rest of Badger Creek.

I knew this would have cliffhanger that would destroy me and this definitely did. I am DYING to see what happens next for Max, Harper, and Sammie in book two.

You know those books that you just love? No real reason, not because the storyline is this or that or because the writing is clever or whatever.. you just have this feeling about the book… well this one was like that for me.. I was bewitched from the first chapter on.

I love love love when there’s little kids involved because they can make any scene so much better with their adorable comments and I just go crazy for guys that instantly love the kid as their own.

This book is part of a duet and all through the book you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop along with the FMC only for it to happen in a cliffhanger at the very end… so please don’t get into this if you don’t like those 😂

Max is a puppy dog golden retriever perfect guy but when things started heating up I was surprised by his dirty mouth!

It had everything I love:
🌸 small town
🌸 found family
🌸 cute kid
🌸 lots of side characters for intertwined stories 🤪 (This is book 5 in a series so there are some obvious links to stories that have already been told)
🌸 a hot dirty talking MMC

I am so glad to have found this new author that I know I'm going to love to read more of.

I love when you pick up a book and it just has this lovely feel good vibe to it and this is what Claire Raye accomplishes in Forget Me – Max and Harper’s story. This is a lovely slow burn story, that is just perfect and flows nicely.

This is the story of Harper who has left her ex behind and left with her daughter the ever loveable four year old character that you just cant help but love. What happens when a single mother moves to Badgers Creek with nothing but is given the chance for a new life, new friends and a job to give her the security that she needs for her daughter. Although Harper is happy she is still cautious, and especially around Max who she is attracted to. Max is just on one of those men who is just perfect and is willing to take things slowly with harper for them to get to where they need to be. It helps that a little four year old plays a helping hand in that too. Harper is guarded with her heart after everything she has been through but she see’s Max for something more and she slowly opens her heart to him.

But can they have their happy ever after and what about the ex she left behind.

These two are the perfect couple together and this is the sweet romance books that you just have to read.

Harper and her daughter are running from their past and land in picturesque Badger Creek where they are quickly welcomed into the Badger Creek family and cared for in ways they haven’t experienced before. Max Holden has been one of Badger Creek’s most eligible bachelors with no one quite catching his eye, until Harper. Just when Harper is finally comfortable enough to let Max in, something unexpected leaves him fighting his way back to her.

Forget Me has officially moved into the favorite spot of these duets! Max is such a dreamy book boyfriend and so incredibly sweet and caring with Harper’s daughter, Sammie. I was dreading the cliffhanger knowing how attached I am to these characters already, and it was as nauseating as I expected — I need Forget Me Not ASAP! This series has some fantastic found family feels and I love how readily everyone welcomed Harper and Sammie into the group. These duets within a series are so unique and always page turners — I definitely recommend them!

So being as this is the fifth book in this series, I thought I had the cliffhangers figured out. Nothing could’ve prepared me for this. My first thought is how could you do this to us! Literally anything I imagined that would be the end to this book, it was never this. Now, let’s back up a minute. We’ve known Max for this whole series and to be honest, he was a jerk last duet so I didn’t have high hopes for him not to be a grumpy Gus this book. But he was so freaking sweet and so patient, easily a perfect boyfriend from the beginning. Harper being a single mom (to a perfect little girl - comic reflect all book) fleeing whatever she left behind in Florida, needs the help more than anyone but she’s also too stubborn at times to willingly accept help without the trust there first. This should’ve been the writing on the wall this was going too well and the authors were going to rip our hearts out. I don’t even know what going to happen in the next book but this isn’t a mystery that can be left unknown.

Idk what it is about single mom romances right now…but UGH. This one freaking hooked me from page 1.

Harper and four year old Sammie leave their life in Florida for a fresh start and find their way into the BEAUTIFUL Lake Tahoe area. The way everyone just knew she needed a chance and gave her a job, a place to live just like UGH. So. Freaking. Sweet. She’s literally a badass mom who has raised one hell of a little girl. Her strength to start over is so admirable and everyone who meets her knows it.

FREAKING SAMMIE?! What a dang angel. She’s so witty and funny and just so resilient. It’s hard to believe a four year old could have been through so much and still be so amazing.

And Max Holden 🥵 ooo mamma. To step into a life where Harper and Sammie are a package deal and just thrive is unheard of and makes you fall for him INSTANTLY. He worships them both and makes them both feel loved and appreciated and just so taken care of.

BUT MISS CLAIRE THE CLIFFHANGER?!?!? I need book two IMMEDIATELY.

I am loving this series set in Badger Creek with Forget Me focusing on Max Holden and new to town, Harper.
Harper and her daughter Sammie arrive in Badger Creek, running across the country to escape a controlling ex and looking for a fresh start. They meet Elissa, Zoey, and Max on their first day, Zoey hiring her onto the housekeeping team and Max being instantly captivated.
Claire Raye have given us a really sweet, easy to read story of two people falling in love; while Harper doesn't trust easily given her past experiences, and Max negotiating a 4 year old child in the mix, the authors handle both these aspects with ease as their relationship builds into something true and strong over a short space of time.
I love that we get the same cast of characters surrounding them, and that we get to see Alex and Delaney's as well as Zoey and Ethan's relationships continue and glimpses into their lives beyond their stories.
This ends on a dramatic cliffhanger that will dictate how the second part of the duet unfolds. Cannot wait!!

What an incredibly sweet and adorable story but with a shocking cliffhanger of an ending that I was totally unprepared for.

Max and Harper’s whirlwind love story was filled with so many wonderfully sweet, adorable and funny moments that had my heart completely melting over these two. Then when you add in the adorable 4-year-old Sammie to the mix, I think my heart was ready to burst with so much love.

Max and Harper’s chemistry oozed off the pages and I couldn’t wait for them to give into this delicious desire that was building between them.

I was instantly swept away into the wonderful world of Badger Creek and all of its truly amazing characters. Every one of them warmed my heart and I never wanted to leave this amazing world.

This story was really well written and had such an amazing storyline, but that ending broke my heart and I am not sure what the hell is going to happen next. I am so unprepared to have my heart keep breaking over Harper and Max.

This book!!

I'm a sucker for single mommas with a secret past and for the MMC to be the most surprising person to step up to the plate and lemme tell ya this book delivered!

It's got everything a gal could ask for in it: small town, slow burn, secret past, single parent, found family

One of my top reads of the year so far!!

The slow burn in this is sooo worth it for the chemistry and tension to build between the characters. You can really feel the connection with these two 🩷🩷

Harper and Max, I love y'all with my heart and I cannot wait for the 2nd part of the duet! My heart is currently shattered sitting in the middle of the floor waiting to be collected and put back together again at the end of month💔

Miss Claire you have well and truly out done yourself on this one!!

Thank you to the Author Agency for the ARC❤️

Harper needs to do what is best for her and her four year old daughter Sammie even if that means relocating to a place she doesn’t know with minimal financial resources. When she arrives she approaches one of the lodges looking for work and ends up not only with a job but a place to stay as well.

When Max arrives at the lodge to see his sister he meets Harper as well and he is enchanted by her. He knows that she is cautious but he is determined to be patient and show her that she and his daughter can trust him and it isn’t long before he captures both of their hearts.

This is the beginning of Harper and Max’s story and I enjoyed it so much. Max was swoony as he allowed Harper to set the pace and his relationship was Sammie was adorable. The cliffhanger leaves us on edge and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next.

This book is so much more than just a sweet and an angsty romance about someone running from their past and finding their future in a small town. However, be prepared because that ending and the cliffhanger is tormenting enough to unalive the masses. The tension between Harper and Max built up beautifully but it was pretty taut from the beginning. Pretty sure, one could’ve sliced through the sexual tension with a knife and oof, the angst of them trying to stay away while continuously orbiting each other was intense! Their arc built beautifully too. But the softest moment was when Max and Sammie develops a kinship. Their bond was adorable; leaving me with poignant tears that were shed at numerous instances, a certain tenderness for these MCs and, Sammie ofc. However, with that ending I'm simply dying to know what happens next. Can't wait enough already!!

Even though I knew this book was going to end with a cliffhanger, I still wasn’t emotionally ready for it to happen. And that ending…GUTTED!!

Max had just a little redeeming to do for me from Zoey’s books and boy has he. He’s the SWEETEST man, kind and caring, and everything you could hope for. As for Harper, she hasn’t had an easy life, and trusting people doesn’t come naturally to her. But seeing her relationship with Max blossom into more was beautiful.

I am a sucker for the single parent trope, partly because I was raised by one. Single moms are some of the toughest people I know and Harper is no exception. She is so strong and I absolutely adored her and Sammie.

But that ending….I need book 2 ASAP.

Holy cliffhanger batman...

I received this book as an ARC. This is the story about a woman who has to escape her past and moves to a remote skiing town with her daughter. There she meets a family who truly embrace her: give her a job, treat her kindly and the son becomes her love interest.

Throughout the book, the two main characters navigate their relationship and how their past does not need to define them. We are left a little in the dark about the FMCs past, but I am sure that will all unfold in the second book. The FMC cannot believe her luck when she meets the MMC but they actually both bring a lot to the table.

I wont ruin the ending but it leaves us wanting more ++++

Cant wait to read the next in the series!

Holy moly!!! First off thank you to Claire Raye & the Author agency for the ARC!

Loveddddd these characters so much! Harper is starting over after leaving Sammie’s father and happens to end up in Badger Creek! She knows first thing she has to do is find a job so she can support her and her daughter. Bam! Meet cute! Max is there to take his sister to lunch and meets Harper & Sammie.
Max’s attention to Harper and how he could see what she was upset was so damn cute to me. He won me over with all the easy effort he put in with Sammie! 😍 Sammie’s little sassy self definitely stands out and makes me laugh! I seriously can’t wait for book 2!!!!! I need to know what’s going to happen next!!!

Harper and her daughter Sammie have moved across the country to Tahoe and are starting over there. Harper goes looking for a job and ends up at Badger Creek lodge. While speaking with Zoey about a job, she and Sammie run into Max, and they are introduced. They slowly start seeing each other, even though Harper is extremely cautious of what she tells Max about her life before moving to Tahoe. Max slowly proves that he cares about her and her daughter and that he will be there for them.
This story was so good! The cliffhanger was absolutely devastating, so I cannot wait to read the conclusion of Max and Harper's story.
I swear all the scenes with Max and Sammie make me so damn happy. I love how much he cares about her right off the back. And he always makes sure she's included.
