Heartwarming story about the love between a grandmother and her granddaughter. Softly colored illustrations add a beautiful touch.

This is a beautifully written book about a relationship between a granddaughter and a grandmother. The book starts out with the grandmother slowly giving her granddaughter items to remember her by. As the granddaughter grows older, she still keeps in contact with her grandmother and her grandmother continues to send her granddaughter things to remember her by. As time goes on, the grandmother starts to grow older and she begins to forget things and she relies on her granddaughter's help. The grandmother begins to worry that her granddaughter will forget her, but the granddaughter takes out an old picture of them both to remember them by.

This book is a great book to talk about theme with. On the last page, it talks about the theme of leaving a legacy, and it sparked a great conversation with my students. The students were able to pick out pieces of evidence that support the idea that the theme was having a lasting legacy and remembering who your family is.

Loved it. Was to my daughter from my grama. All the activities they did together were what my grama did too. I didnt like that the grama told the granddaughter "It's something to remember me by" every time she gave the granddaughter a gift. I would not say that because it kind of insinuate that the person you say it to would forget you. But they won't. And the grandma told the granddaughter that she wanted to be remembered. Anyways, I didn't like all this until I got to the end, and the grandma got Alzheimer's, and she was afraid she wouldn't remember who the granddaughter was, saw the granddaughter gave her a picture of the two of them together, and told her, this is something to remember me by. Then the story came full circle and I loved it.

This is a beautiful story about love between a granddaughter and a grandmother. It includes a beautiful cedar chest with items that were treasured by that grandmother as she passes them on to her beloved granddaughter. It takes the girl from young on into adult with a family, but the grandmother's memory is fading as the girl reaches adulthood. This story will bring tears to your eyes. Not necessarily for the very young, but if you have children and have relatives that are struggling with their memory it will show that they are not alone.

I found this book on Mom’s shelf in her “Family Room.” Inside was part of a newspaper clipping about the book with the phone number 1.800.772.7765. I wonder if she called that number to order this book. The other thing inside was a flyer from Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support where Alissa worked after she got her graduate degree from SMU/Perkins in 2018.

This book is about A Little girl who loved to spend time with her grandmother. They go shopping together and play cards. Make a lot of good memories together . But every time little girl leave grandmother house . Grandmother always give something to little girl to remember her by!! It's really a nice story and very nicely written.

This is unbelievable. I judge books like this harshly—sentimental picture books with grandmothers and such…I mean, this looks like it is straight out of a church library. Not that there is anything wrong with church libraries. It just strikes me as a bit, well…ornate. And if there is anything I like to mock, it is the ornate.

But this book pulled me in. It overrode my cynicism. I think I cried a little. I don’t want to harp on this any longer than I must, so I will just say that this book is awesome and I’m not ashamed to say it.

This is a beautiful Book, and I really enjoyed reading it. If I get to see my granddaughters who live a long way from me. I will take it with me to read to them.

It was given to Holly Elizabeth on her first Easter April 4, 1999 by her Grammie, who wrote a little note to her in the front of the book. It was donated to a second hand store with a bunch of books, I removed it from a dumpster in ? ?. It still looks brand new. I wondered if it ended up there by accident. This is a book written in story book form, and can be read to children, but it will take an adult to truly understand the message from the book.

This book starts out as a young girl goes to visit her grandmother, and ends as an adult whose grandmother has dementia, but through it all, the grandmother has given her granddaughter something to remember her by. I absolutely loved this book as I have memories of two grandmothers who I love dearly.

This book is well worth the time and good tears. I would recommend it to the aged because they still have time to think about how they might create memories for the next generations.The only thing that didn't happen that I expected in the book was for her to use the tablecloth --or make it into a skirt or something.
