Neville deciphered the Bible in such a way that the truth can be revealed for the first time. Many people who appreciate the old familiar verses of Scripture become disheartened when they try to read the Bible like any other book because they do not realise that the Bible is written in symbolic language. They twist their brains over it for a time before giving up, not realising that all of its characters are personifications of mental rules and functions; that the Bible is psychology rather than history.
Neville Goddard was a writer, speaker and mystic. He taught various self-help methods for testing his own claim that the human imagination is omnificent, therefore God. He achieved popularity by reinterpreting the Bible and the poetry of William Blake.
Very disappointed. Not a single citation as to which book or lecture Neville Goddard's quotes were taken from and the entire book is over 100 pages of unorganized quotes from various books and lectures that redacted the scripture references too. There is no way to verify the accuracy or if these are really what he said or to check the full context. No Table of Contents and no Glossary. Not an original thought beyond the Introduction yet slaps a self-published Copyright on it prohibiting reproduction of materials that are largely public domain... This is very poorly compiled, no rhyme or reason to it and shouldn't be allowed to be published without following standard rules and regulations.
Highly recommend for magickal thinkers and occultists - Christians will find Goddard to be a heretic who lacks proper theological training, but I think this is precisely what makes the man shine and gives him his power. His techniques work. His approach forces every believer in God to ask, "why do we only trust the European way of interpreting Scripture?" "Is not God more magical than so-called historical context or legal stipulations?" Neville Goddard teaches:
-“Stop trying to change the world since it is only the mirror. Man’s attempt to change the world by force is as fruitless as breaking a mirror in the hope of changing his face. Leave the mirror and change your face. Leave the world alone and change your conceptions of yourself. The reflection then will be satisfactory.”
-“For life makes no mistakes and always gives man that which man first gives himself.”
-“I will be” is a confession that “I am not “ The Father's will is always “I AM.” Until you realize that YOU are the Father (there is only one I AM and your infinite self is that I AM), your will is always “I will be.”
If any of these quotes speak to you, then I suggest you check this book out. Man is God and Allahu Akbar.
These transcripts of Goddard public presentations are required reading for his fans and students. Because these are spontaneous remarks, they reveal his thought processes as well as his conclusion.
On the one hand, the author shocks us with the assertion that Scripture is not history, but a vast, divine metaphor for own internal states and struggles. On the other, his result agrees with many about the power of faith and the sacred nature of The Book. Any serious student of scripture will find insight in viewing it from Goddard's perspective.
I read from a far more literal perspective than Goddard's. Even so, the fruit says he's a good man, flawed like the rest but a noteworthy prophet.
A wonderful perspective from a man after God’s own heart
Neville provides an interesting spiritual perspective for those interested in spirituality. There is no contradiction with the idea of God’s Kingdom being inside of you. This is stated in Scripture. Jesus also said he and the Father would be inside of those who truly believed. It is these facts and other Scriptures that Neville challenges the reader with then believing you should act as God and Jesus. I’ll disagree with Neville on several things but found his spiritual perspective enlightening. Anyone who is spiritual should enjoy this book. I myself have authored nooks on who God and Jesus are. Enjoy. Edward G. Palmer
Being eager to know what news I will get about God's word, I came across this new exposure. Man is flesh and blood. Having the spirit he may receive more revelations. Neville accomplished explaining Scripture.
