If you had asked me if I'd ever be dating Chris St. James, well, let's just say it's more likely Jimmy Choo would name a shoe after me.
Which, Jimmy, if you're out there, the "Ella Mae" would definitely be a big seller. Call me, Mkay?
But, back to Chris. Sure, he's handsome. I mean, his arms are as big as my legs! He's got those lips that would make Michelangelo pause and grab a rock to start sculpting. And when you top his looks off with the whole hero-vibe he has going for him. Yes. He's a fine specimen of manhood.
But, Chris is closed off, and judgy. And even if he weren't, we're from two separate sides of our town. Remember Romeo and Juliet? That didn't end so well, did it?
Besides, Chris and I don't have any desire to date, or even talk to one another most days. We're not exactly what you'd call friends.
But, here's the thing. You never know what situations life is going to throw at you. And right now, I'm in a doozie. Which means, Chris St. James--yes, that brawny, broody man--is now my boyfriend.
Well ... He's not really my boyfriend. But don't tell anyone.
Oh, my....GOODNESS. This book was everything. EVERYTHING. It had all of the sweet, tender moments, the LOL moments, and even a super-duper ULTRA light suspense thread that kept me turning pages until late at night. But believe me, this book is NOT a suspense...it's what we've all come to expect from Savannah and her adorable Bourdeax characters.
I am so super sad to leave this town, but this last book was my absolute favorite! Chris and his protectiveness over Ella Mae was so swoony. I love, love, loved how he stood up for her and how he saw beyond her over-the-top influencer persona.
And Ella Mae? She's amazing. She's strong and independent, bubbly and carefree, and has the biggest heart. I felt so bad for her throughout the book and just wanted to pull her into a big hug (thank goodness Chris did that for me. LOL)
This book shows us that how we treat people matters and that we should strive to get to know someone before passing unfair judgments on them.
Chris and Ella Mae's story will make you cry, laugh, and swoon.
ARC book review: Ripped & Shipped by Savannah Scott.
This is the final book in the getting shipped series and it’s definitely my new favorite. I didn’t think anyone could top Duke but boy did Chris do that. I’ll be completely honest and say that I thought Ella Mae was annoying in the first few books but when she helped Jayme in Doctorshipped I started to love her! I was so excited to find out this book was hers & Chris’. They’re complete opposites and not even friends even though they live in the same town. Until one day they ran into each other outside of town & suddenly they’re friends and he’s offering to be her fake boyfriend! I giggled so much during this book. The chemistry between Chris & Ella Mae was phenomenal. If you love fake dating, enemies to lovers and found family then you need to check this book out!
Opposites attract! Loved the chemistry between Chris and Ella Mae. Great plot. No 3rd act breakup, which I know many of us readers appreciate. This whole series is exceptional. Romantic comedy at its best!
To say I’m sad about being at the end of this series is an understatement but what a way to finish our time in Boredeaux (Bored-Ox) This crazy quirky town full of loveable caring nosy people has seemed so real and it’s hard to believe our time with these couples is done; but this was an absolutely beautiful ending to this fab-you-lous series. While it is a Rom-com with laugh out loud moments this book more then any of the others (even my beloved DoctorShipped) was so full of heart and emotion and healing on both Chris & Ella Mae's part. Scott took a side character from earlier books who seemed vain and selfish and made us just absolutely fall in love with her as we began to see her through Chris' eyes.
You’ll love this if you love: •fake dating •mild enemies to lovers (more dislike then enemies) •great banter •steamy but kisses only
One warning I'll give is that while all books are technically standalone this book does spoil an important plot point for Cruiseshipped so if you're intending to read them I recommend that one first...but really just go back to the beginning and read the whole series. It's fantastic, you won't be sorry.
Thank you to the author for an ARC. All thoughts are my own.
Savannah Scott hit it out of the park with this one, and I loved everything about it!
In previous books, Ella Mae has been a minor character, coming across as shallow and slightly annoying with her over-the-top personality and career as a social media influencer. In Ripped & Shipped you come to see her as a completely different person. She is strong, resilient, has a lot of depth and a heart of gold. She’s had many challenges in her life but she’s a fighter and refuses to let things get her down. Even so, always feeling excluded and like the town pariah isn’t easy, and my heart ached for her during her vulnerable moments. I quickly fell in love with her and she’s now my favorite fmc from this series.
Chris is ex-military, and a broody alpha with a hero complex. He’s had previous run-ins with Ella May and she gets under his skin. When he steps in to help her with something, he starts to see her for who she really is, and she gets under his skin in a whole different way. I loved seeing him fall so hard for her, and how sweet and protective he was with her.
Ella Mae and Chris are such opposites but they’re absolutely perfect for each other, and their story was the perfect ending to this fantastic series! Ripped & Shpped is full of so much heart, and gave me all the feels. It was a wonderful blend of humor, witty banter, fabulous characters, swoony romance, and a couple of scenes that were so tender they had me in tears. Loved it so much and I can’t say enough good about it!
This can be read as a standalone, but there are spoilers in it if you haven’t read Cruiseshipped.
Many thanks to the author for a gifted copy. All opinions are my own.
You guys, this series has my heart and this book wraps up our time in Bordeaux so beautifully. Ella Mae and Chris stole my heart, made me laugh, and made me cry. They are the definition of swoon. This book is full of small-town, opposites attract, hint of enemies-to-lovers, fake-dating goodness.
Things I Loved: -“Was it shoulder day today, Chris?” -Mabel’s clay mask -Emotionally constipated soldier -Pop-Tarts -Oh, Duke 😍😂 -Christmas Truce in June -“Thank God for a lack of a measuring tape.” -Soldier -Guys’ Night Prank 🤣 -“What? No. I don’t dare you to do that.” -Hot Guy in Doorway magazine -Unpaid bodyguard -Yoga -Mabel’s big question -“Cut my hair.” -Boots -The beard -Princess Bride reference -“I think we’re being watched.” (I’m officially a puddle) -Alex, Courtney, & Kassie -Chris’ spot -“Nothing says, Your military days are over, like this moment.” iykyk -Duke and the juice box. Just Duke. 😂 -Sliced the Beef -An awfully specific promise -The hashtag -The whole entire ending & epilogue
This book hit deeper than I ever expected when I asked for Ella Mae’s story the very first time she made an appearance in the Getting Shipped series. I knew there was more to her and I told Patty (Savannah) that I wanted her story as soon as we met her—and I love it SO much. If you haven’t been to Bordeaux yet, you can still jump in as these are all written standalone, but there are so many delightful nuggets from the previous books woven in. (*The only exception being to read CruiseShipped before this one, there is a spoiler for that book.*)
What a fantastic way to end a fabulous series! Savannah Scott really knocked it out of the ballpark with this book. Not only was there all the hilarity she’s known for, but the romance was so amazing and took a character I’m sorry to say I didn’t like much in the previous books and made me love her! It’s a witty enemies to lovers, fake dating, grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, swoony romance with so much heart that’s an absolute perfect 10!
Ella Mae is an Instagram influencer who’s trying to make a difference sharing her beauty tips, fashion, and encouragement. When she’s offered a collaboration opportunity with another top rated influencer, she jumps at the chance. But when the guy stands her up at the Big Boy’s restaurant, she’s rescued by the very last person she expected.
After returning to Bordeaux after his tour with the military, Chris isn’t the same person. He’s more serious and a little grumpy. Though he’s attracted to Ella Mae, she’s his opposite in every way and he can’t imagine ever having a relationship with her. But, when he sees her upset in the restaurant, his desire to rescue kicks in and he finds himself having one of the best times he’s had in a long time.
When he begins investigating her digital world, there’s someone who definitely seems to pose a threat. Chris suggests a fake relationship to get the guy to back off, but Ella Mae is skeptical. However, getting to spend time with one of the hottest guys in town isn’t too bad, especially when the sparks fly between them. When old prejudices die and new feelings emerge, there might be more reality to their fake relationship than they thought.
I absolutely loved Chris & Emma Mae! Their romance is definitely a favorite. While I love the little town of Bordeaux, the author reminds us that for all the close knit relationships, there’s always someone who might feel left out, and Ella Mae is that person. While Chris is the popular town hero with all the friends, Ella Mae is the one standing on the side lines. Her sometimes over the top personality doesn’t allow people to see the kind, thoughtful person underneath who helps her elderly neighbors and doesn’t hesitate to do a favor. My heart ached for Ella Mae and I loved seeing my perceptions of her change right along with Chris.
There were so many favorite moments, but instead of listing them I’ll just say do yourself a favor and grab this book! It’ll tug on your heartstrings, make you laugh, and definitely swoon (especially the reservoir scenes.) I absolutely adore this series and am so sad to see it come to an end! I’m excited for her future series and hope we might get glimpses of Bordeaux from time to time. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author, but also purchased a copy of my own. All opinions are my own and voluntarily given.
This may be my favorite Savannah Scott book ever! It made me feel all the feels! That’s ALWAYS a win for me. At one point I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe. I also cried over the tenderness and absolute heartbreak, enderingness (not a word but go with it), and love. Let me start off by saying that I’ve been shipping Ella Mae and Chris for several books now. I knew that underneath Ella Mae’s social media persona she had a good heart and was just misunderstood by the town. Chris was gruff on the outside and a watcher. He was going to see her. This book was everything I hoped it would be and more! I love that Chris became Ella Mae’s champion.
Here’s some of my favorite moments:
The guys night movie THE YOGA SCENE Cincinnati trip - he just gets her The spot The town
Ripped and Shipped is the seventh and final book in the Getting Shipped! series. These books can definitely be enjoyed as standalones (I've not read them all or read in order myself!), but it's such a good series, it's certainly worth reading them all anyway.
This book... oh. my. goodness. What a book! Ella Mae is a character that was introduced in previous books of the series and was quite frankly--- not always the most likeable character. She was a bit annoying and over the top in many ways. I am so glad that she got her own story, because while at the beginning she might have still been a little annoying- by the end... she might just be a favorite for me! And Chris--- oh, I just adored his protectiveness! The chemistry between the two was fantastic, and I loved their love story. Who knew a kiss on the cheek could be so stinkin' swoon-worthy!? And yet, Savannah Scott made it so... and I absolutely adored every moment. (Seriously, this scene? Perfection!)
If the moments weren't making me swoon, they were making me laugh out loud. I found myself giggling so many times throughout that my family might have been worried about my sanity. Isn't that how a RomCom should be? It wasn't all laughs either though. There was so much heart in this story and I couldn't get enough of it.
While again there are some books in the series I've not yet read (and I am glad so that I don't have to say goodbye to this wonderful town just yet), this is certainly my favorite so far and it's going to be quite hard to beat. If you enjoy a fake dating romance with loads of chemistry but nothing beyond kissing, you absolutely don't want to miss this one!
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Ripped and Shipped was the perfect ending to the Getting Shipped series. Chris and Ella Mae 100% stole my heart, and watching their characters develop throughout was priceless. Ella Mae has been a minor character in the previous books, and I always thought she was slightly annoying and shallow. In Ripped and Shipped, we get a completely different Ella Mae and I fell in love with her. This book will make you laugh, smile, and swoon, not to mention completely captivate your attention. So cute, and so much fun. Grab your copy today.
I thought Duke and Shannon were my favorites, boy was I wrong! I LOVE Chris and Ella Mae!!!
At first, I wasn't sure this book was for me. Ella Mae seemed like a character that was going to drive me nuts. The more I read, the more I loved her. She is overlooked and judged by everyone in her town. Even as a reader I did the same. She is so much more though, and I loved being wrong about her.
Chris is a no fun loving man. He doesn't do social media and he likes to keep his life private even from his close friends. But when he can't stop himself from helping Ella Mae, everything changes.
I couldn't put this book down. I loved it so much. I am a sucker for brother's best friend, but this book beat that.
Great finale to the Shipped series! It was nice to hear Ella Mae’s viewpoint considering she was in all the other books and not always painted in a great light. This opposites attract romcom shows what she is actually like, and I loved her banter with Chris. I loved how honest they were with each other after their initial hesitations. Just great!
Thanks to Savannah Scott for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Watch for Ripped and Shipped to come out May 5, 2023!
I must admit it took me a bit to get into this book at the beginning. Ella Mae was just so annoying and over the top! But by the end I loved her as much as Chris did. Savannah Scott has such a way of developing her characters and plot that you are drawn in and feeling all the feels along with them.
This book will make you laugh, swoon and even cry. I admit I did need a few tissues by the end. Not many books affect me that way, but this one did.
It was nice to see the characters and town from another perspective. We don’t always know what’s under the surface. The ending was very sweet and inspiring. I’m so glad I was able to read this book.
How does one simply put into words truly how wonderful this book was?! When I found out that half of the pairing for this book was Ella Mae, I was a bit leery even though it was classified as a fake romance, boy was I wrong. Ella Mae truly is the hidden backbone of the Bordeaux community and I’m so glad she got her own story! Chris has also been this mysterious supporting character since Censorshipped when he came back into town. He deserved to be explored more as well.
The initial interaction between the two was comical and set the tone for how I expected this story to play out, boy was I WRONG again!!! I mean, who turns off someone else’s phone midway through their livestream just to be left alone?! Ella Mae has a greater depth than first appearance, her social media platform helps her mask her reality of living in a small town while also creating sustainable income. Chris, ever the mysterious broody retired soldier, wants nothing better than to hang out with his friends, catch up on the life he left behind, fix any problems he can, and figure out where he fits in amongst all those things. When their paths cross in a Big Boy diner, I knew that it would be a launching point to something far more comforting than the food.
True to his nature, he “fixed” the situation and helped her stay true to her “peeps!” The playful manner in the diner allowed them to see each other as something different from what they had been stereotyped as for the last several years and pollenated a seed of friendship that would ultimately bloom into what it needed to become. The Bordeaux crew of supporting characters were anything, but boring and brought a lot of dimensions to the everchanging dynamics of our leads. Certain characters brought the right amount of angst that was needed, so make sure you have your towel ready to wipe off the ickiness that they exude. Some underlining plot points were wonderful for context and clarity on some hintings that were mentioned earlier in the series as well as this novel.
Enemies to lovers is the perfect trope for this story. Fourth of July was simply magical as it always is; fireworks aren’t just to light up the night’s sky! All in all, this was a fantastic book to close out the Shipped series in Bordeaux, Ohio! With Chris, you will always have one fighting for what’s right and Ella Mae will always remind you to be fabulous, but being true to yourself and allowing yourself to fall your heart is the ultimate end game goal! Will miss this town and all its residents, but will visit them often as they have become the fictional friends anyone would be blessed to have! Bravo!
This seems to be the last book set in the small town of Bordeaux, Ohio. We follow the story of veteran Chris and town influencer Ella Mae and how they turn from enemies to friends to even more than that.
Chris felt a little bland for me. He was lacking some character and there isn’t much I can say about him except that he has a hero complex and was in the army. He’s nice, I guess, but he somehow felt disconnected from the story, even though he was one of the main characters.
What Chris lacks in personality, Ella Mae brings to the story. She is a handful and in the previous books all we heard about her is how she was constantly streaming, exaggerating her life and pushing her camera into everyone's faces. I didn’t like her and I still think it’s absolutely bad behavior to film and stream other people, just going about their day and mostly not even asking if they want to be on her instagram. She was treated harshly for that though and a lot of that treatment was uncalled for and over the top.
I’ll probably read more by Savannah Scott in the future and see what she comes up with next.
This is one of my favorite books of this series! It was soo good, and a great way to end this series!
Favorite parts: Frisch's Big Boy All the fake dating Chris defending Ella Mae Red, White, Blue and Corn too celebration The reservoir The grand gesture 🥰 Aidens Barn (I was in tears it was so sweet!) The Epilogue
Ella Mae is a side character in all of the other Getting Shipped books and I loved getting to know her better in this one! Her story goes to show that you shouldn't judge a book by the cover (or a person by their appearance).
I also loved getting to know Chris better. We see him in a few of the books and he always had this big, strong, tough guy feel. It was so fun getting to know the person behind the tough persona.
Chris is so sweet and I love how much he cares for Ella Mae. I love that he is able to see past her Instagram persona to the real person underneath. I also love how much he wants to protect her and be there when she needs him.
These two are so much fun together! They learn to see past initial appearances and see the person behind the mask. I love how their relationship builds from enemies to friends to lovers. I also love how they are able to be vulnerable with each other and that the other is able to take that vulnerability and help them move forward.
This is the 7th and last book in the Getting Shipped series. It can be read as a stand alone, but I would really suggest reading this series in order if you can. You are so much more emotionally connected to these characters when you've read them in order.
Thanks to @savannahscott for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.
If you like: ✔️ Opposites Attract ✔️ Fake Dating ✔️ He Falls First ✔️ Protective Hero ✔️ Independent FMC ✔️ Small Town ✔️ GRAND GESTURES ❤️ then you will LOVE this book!
Chris is strong, protective, independent, loyal, honorable, kind hearted, has a sense of humor, and is the local golden boy.
Ella Mae is smart, creative, independent, kind, giving, strong, misunderstood, and the black sheep of the town.
This book had me laughing, crying, and my heart melting so much! Chris and Ella Mae were the least likely candidates to fall for each other. They are from opposite sides of town and each have their own friend groups that don't get along. I love how they started a friendship and then we got to watch it grow into love. I love how they see each other for who they really are, are open and honest with each other, support one another, and can just be themselves when they are together. The banter is top notch and the chemistry is sizzling!
Some of my favorites: The yoga scene "Boots" "Big Boy" Their spot I Like Big Butts (just wait until you read that part lol)
Favorite quotes: "Well, prison isn't my end game, so I'm here pumping iron instead." - Chris
"I'm here for you. I'll always come for you. You're more than enough for me." - Chris
"Things happen that are out of our control. We have to accept that whatever went down in life wasn't always our fault." - Ella Mae
"... sorry is as sorry does. Words are cheap. Action is what really matters. So, this is a little bit of both. But it's just a beginning." - Jayme
I’m so sad the series is over now!! I think this was my favorite book in the series… going into the book I was intrigued since neither of the main characters were my favorites but I think that’s the really cool thing about series like this; you get to see more into a characters life and connect more to that character then in one of the other books where they’re just a side character. I think it shares a really good message about always being kind to everyone because you don’t know what is going on in their head or their life and all they might need is to feel like they have friends and belong!! This will definitely be a comfort series for me! Highly recommend!!
4.5⭐️ rounded up! I loved this story!! I honestly didn’t think I would enjoy it too much, because Ella Mae never seemed very interesting to me in all the other books. But we get to see a whole different side of her here. She has this amazing personality and I feel bad how everyone treats her. The nicknames!!! Boots and Soldier, it’s the cutest thing ever. I love how Ella Mae was independent, but Chris kept protecting her anyway. Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes, so this book made me really happy!
Thus was such a sweet end to the series. I’m sad it’s over, but seeing all the stories connect makes it a really beautiful picture. The town will have a special place in my heart.
Ahh!! This book!!!! This delightful love story gave me all the feels! It was so great to go back to Bordeaux Ohio and see all of our old friends from this series. One thing that I absolutely loved in this book is seeing those same characters from a completely different perspective. And that perspective is Ella Mae Lindstrom’s. She might have eight million people following her on instagram, but she’s the local outcast. She’s not in the friend group, so when she starts to fall for local golden boy Chris St. James, she knows she’s in trouble. Chris is a hero, a protector, a guardian. So when Ella Mae gets in a situation that makes him worry for her safety, Chris naturally wants to come to the rescue. I loved loved seeing these two get closer to each other and come to know and understand one another. They were the missing puzzle piece each needed. I really appreciated how the author didn’t sugar coat the very realistic trials they faced and the problems they had to overcome. Love isn’t true because it’s easy. It’s true love when both people are dedicated to working hard for each other. And Chris and Ella Mae work for each other. You will love this book if you love:
-opposites attract -protective hero -independent heroine -small town romance -social media -great friendship groups -grand gestures (this is Bordeaux after all 😉)
Ripped & Shipped releases May 5th so mark your calendars!!
Thank you to author an arc copy: all thoughts are my own
That's not a quote from the book. That's a quote from my mom. She'd just finished Cruiseshipped and placed her pre-order for Ripped and Shipped. Needless to say she is skeptical about her next read. Well Mom, buckle up for a glorious ride!
Anyone that knows my love for Bordeaux, knows I'm protective of my peeps there! (See what I did, Patty?) 😉 Ella Mae has her peeps and Chris is protective! They are opposites yet perfect for each other.
This is a fun story. Sometimes I will smile while reading or listening to a book. Rarely do I actually laugh. I had tears from laughter imagining some of these scenes! There is also a lot of heart. Big hearts and full hearts and some mended broken hearts.
This is the last official book in the Getting Shipped series. In many ways it brings our beloved town full circle. There's so much that I loved seeing. There are returning friends that we watch in their interaction with Ella Mae and Chris. This book felt like coming home. Vacations can be nice, but there's something special about the familiar that resonates with this homebody.
This story is unique and inspirational in its own way. Be yourself. Be your best self.
A big thanks to Savannah Scott for introducing us to the wonderful people of Bordeaux, Ohio. I know this isn't goodbye for good. I'm sure they will pop up again. Even if they didn't, they will forever live in my heart and in the hearts of so many others.
I received an advanced copy of this and am gladly leaving a review and purchasing one when it is released on May 5.
Chris and Ella Mae are not each other’s biggest fans, they aren’t even friends. Well Chris is more reserved and quiet, Ella Mae is a fireball of energy helping everyone remember to put the YOU in Fab-YOU-lous.
But life catches them off guard and they find themselves in the situation of fake dating. As they spend more time together, they begin to truly see each other and quickly find out there’s more than meets the eye. But they’re not actually dating, it’s all for show….right?
So when we were introduced to Chris in previous books, I could just tell he was a softie with a hard exterior. I was SO excited to get his love story and learn more about him.
But never did I expect the woman who would bring that softie out to be Ella Mae. I’m going to be honest and say that I never gave Ella Mae much extra thought until Cruiseshipped, and even then never saw her as a main character but boy was I wrong, I love Ella Mae! It was so nice being able to see a different, more vulnerable side to such an independent and confident character.
And like always, they are absolutely perfect together. Their cute nicknames, smart banter, the chemistry, the tenderness….just *swoon* 😍
Ripped & Shipped was such a great and beautiful way to wrap up the Getting Shipped series. Well I’m sad we are done with this series and Bordeaux, I’m so grateful we got to visit in the first place. And every end is a new beginning as we have another amazing series on the way! I know Savannah will continue bringing smiles and laughs as well as introducing us to more characters to swoon over and fall in love it!
Ripped and Shipped just edged up to my favorite of the series. And I never thought I would say that since I haven't always been Ella Mae's biggest fan. But Savannah Scott has outdone herself with this book! She took a slightly obnoxious character with an over-the-top personality and showed the tender heart and genuine kindness behind the influencer persona. And Chris! He is a male protector, a hero in action with all the muscles to back it up. The way he sees the real Ella Mae and defends her is the most endearing and heartwarming thing ever! I loved watching their relationship develop from friendship to fake dating to so much more. The sweet, swoony moments mixed with the laugh out loud moments made this book a fave. I can't recommend this book enough!
A few favorites... ☆The Yoga session ☆#ComeHomeEllaMae ☆I Like Big Butts ☆Video session with the Guys ☆The town at Aidan's barn ☆Their spot ☆Chris's conversation with Duke about not knowing ☆The kisses, especially over the island
I would not have thought Ella Mae could be so relatable when I read the first book in this series, but her story tugged at my heartstrings. I’m officially one of her peeps now (IYKYK). I loved this story! It’s enemies to lovers, Capulet and Montague, social media starlet vs army vet, and it’s amazing.
Check this out if you like sweet romcoms, wonderful small town setting, enemies to lovers, or any of the other shipped series!
You might want to read Cruiseshipped first if you don’t want spoilers though this one is stand alone.
Favorite Quote: “Things happen that are out of our control. We have to accept that whatever went down in life wasn’t always our fault.”
Thanks to the author for the eARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ahhh…a bittersweet moment – I’ve now finished the entire Getting Shipped series! Well, not counting the prequal novella, Courtshipped. Once I’ve read that one this coming week, I’ll have officially read all of Savannah Scott’s RomComs!
So, let’s talk Chris and Ella Mae. Ripped & Shipped is easily tied for first place with Doctorshipped, my other favorite from this series. There is just something so extra special about this one. I loved the way we got to peel back the layers of Ella Mae’s eccentric and boisterous personality. Ella Mae is a social media influencer and doesn’t exactly fit the typical mold of those living in the little town of Bordeaux, OH. She’s a misfit, to say the least. Over 8 million Instagram fans and followers, yet in her real, everyday life, she’s quite lonely.
Chris St. James is the stud of all studs in town. He’s always been a bit annoyed by Ella Mae, but when he unexpectedly finds her in a restaurant one night, tears in her eyes after being stood up…he can’t help but come to her rescue. Regardless of finding her irritating, he can’t stop the fact that he has a good heart and wants to help cheer her up. Well, one kind gesture that night winds up leading to a whole lot more. Now we have a whole situation unfolding that is sweet, hysterical and absolutely one of the best fake dating RomComs I’ve ever read. Chris is the hero of all MMCs and Ella Mae is certainly not what everyone assumes of her. I just adored these two. If anything, read this one for the yoga scene…it’s a “gas”. LOLL
Savannah Scott is one of the few authors that can make me sit and read a 400+ page novel in a single day. Her stories are just impossible to put down once you pick one up. I will never stop recommending the Getting Shipped series. Truly RomCom perfection.

This was quite possibly one of the sweetest opposites attract, fake dating romance book I've read in a while! Chris is the strong silent type, who is ex-military and very private. Ella Mae is anything but quiet, she's a social media influencer who loves to be a little extra. To think these two would ever end up together would be like mixing oil and water. However, Ella Mae needs a little help, not because she 100% feels like she needs it, she's a strong independent woman who build her own business, but social media can lend itself to online strangers that aren't always safe. Chris may seem like he's extra grumpy but deep in his core, he would do anything to help anyone in need, including fake date Ella Mae to help keep some Beefy stalker away from her. The only problem, things don't stay just fake. And you'll be surprised who catches feelings first! Can these two work through a town against them? Or even their own insecurities? Savannah does such a great job with her writing of this relationship and these characters that you will truly enjoy another visit to Bordeaux Ohio. This can be read as a stand-alone but there is a spoiler that happens in relation to Cruise Shipped so I would highly recommend reading that first! Enjoy your visit in Bordeaux a little longer, it's a great place. If you love closed door romance - just the most delicate of kisses, sweet and spunky nicknames, hilarious laugh out loud moments (yoga can be dangerous in multiple ways), and secret special hideaways this is the perfect love story for you. Thank you for my free eBook, Savannah! It was not expected for me to leave any positive feedback, these opinions are 100% my own.
What a great way to end a series in the lovely town of bored ox! Second chances ran wild in this book and that was so encouraging! I’m a fan of books that take a character that hasn’t be very favored and helping understand them. Ella Mae is far from the towns favorite person. I enjoyed getting to know her more and seeing where she comes from. This annoying social media lady is actually pretty awesome. Chris is trying to find his place in town after he left for a few years. It seemed as though everyone else moved on and he hasn’t. With an “unfortunate” run in with Ella Mae, he gets to spend lots of time with her. He gradually sees beyond her wall and falls hard. I have big hopes for the town and wish them well! Thank you to the author for an early copy in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own.
