A series of ground-breaking spiritual methods that integrate science and faith according to the evolutionary spirituality of Teilhard de Chardin's The Divine Milieu.
Chardin was a visionary/mystic who integrated science and sprituality. This book opens Chardin for us in a way that allows us to understand and practice Chardin's vision. Truly helpful in feeling and knowing the nature of reality.
Excellent companion book while reading The Divine Milieu. His explanations were excellent and it was nice when he pointed out concepts that were either not well developed or could have been clarified. Interesting that he notes a section at the end that is not clear and that a book editor would have sent back for clarification, except church leaders wouldn’t let Teilhard publish anything so he didn’t get the benefit of an editor.
He also reinforced the idea that Teilhard encourages us to “fall in love with the not-yet.”
Teilhard de Chardin ideas are controversial but he tries to harmonize evolution with Christianity with limited success. Savary's book makes you think and one can only conclude Teilhard was a deeply Christian man.
Very clear, understandable explanation of a seemingly complex great spiritual thinker. I recommend this book as a companion or precursor to reading “The Divine Milieu”.
What a wonderful idea! Translate Teilhard de Chardin's theological vision into the lived experience of spirituality! This is a very helpful guide through one of the 20th century's most creative and original spiritual works. It combines theory and practice in an insightful, symbiotic way.
