With equal doses of suspense, teamwork and romance, Christy Reece expertly writes captivating stories with propulsive pacing and surprising revelations. It’s a given that her books are page-turners for me and that I’ll drop everything to read one (well, maybe not my grandkiddos).
In her latest explosive addition to the Option Zero Series, Reece serves up a 5-star serving of action-packed-edge-of-your-seat gripping-suspense. There’s some interesting and surprising history between Gideon Wright and Eve Wells – part of which is unknown even to Eve. The plotting is exciting and magnetic where betrayal intersects with deadly consequences. Betrayal is a painful part of this story, but it doesn’t define its entirety.
It tells the story of two strong and compelling individuals whose lives are intertwined in unique and heartwarming ways. With its setting in the fictional country of Ile de la Lune and the love story shared between Eve and Gideon, it casts an almost fairytale-like feeling – both beautiful and tragic that will keep a reader spellbound. The twists and turns in the progression were completely unexpected and kept my heart pounding and me turning the pages as fast as I could.
I loved this book! Heck! I've loved every book she's written (I think it's up to 27 now). RUTHLESS, No. 4 in the Option Zero Series, is the perfect blend of complex characters and compelling plot. I was hooked from page one proving once again why Christy Reece is at the top of my list of favorite go-to authors. And I can’t wait for the next book in this series or for that matter, any book written by her!

Wow! I LOVE Eve and Gideon! They’re both so strong, and stubborn and a bit vulnerable. You can absolutely feel their friendship throughout, making the love story that much sweeter and emotional. They have a banter between them that just rings true for best friends who’ve known each other for years.
Part action/ adventure story, part fairytale, 100% fun read, I cannot wait for the series’ next addition.

As usual it’s another 5 star read from Christy Reece. Eve’s background was a total surprise, there was no indication of who she was in any of the previous books. And Gideon *sigh* he was everything you could want in a hero. The other thing I love about the author is just when I think I’ve figured it out, she throws in a twist that I never saw coming. I highly recommend not only this book, but everything she’s written.

This was such a great story! Gideon and Eve are a couple of headstrong, protective, and stubborn people. They have each other's back. Always. Now faced with discovering everything she knew had been a lie, and that there is betrayal within her inner circle, can they work together to find the culprit before she and her whole family are wiped out.
Gideon has kept a secret from Eve for a decade and now that the truth is out, will he lose her trust and her heart forever? He'll do whatever he can to protect her and will do anything to earn back her trust, but as long as he can keep her alive, he'll settle for that if that's all he can have.
This story was riveting! I love this OZ series!! Definitely grab this one! If you haven't read the series, do it now!! You won't be disappointed!!

Eve and Gideon already had a close connection as friends and partners for over 10 years. Turns out it goes a bit further back than that. We get Eve's full story and it's a surprise along with the past connection with Gideon.
This took us mainly out of the OZ world to a small country island in France. We already know Eve and Gideon were perfect for each other but when secrets are revealed things change and these two will have to fight for their future along with fighting the bad guys.
The open threads from previous books/characters are driving me nuts. Can't wait till the author gives us some updates on those. Another great book from Christy Reece.

Ruthless like all the others was an excellent read. Once you start, you can't put the book down. Loved Eve's strength and courage throughout this book. Although Gideon kept making bad choices in order to protect Eve, I loved that he did whatever he had to, to keep her safe. I was so happy to see them find their way to each other. I highly recommend this book and series.

Christy Reese writes another awesome page-turner. It focuses on the interesting romance between two fascinating people who must stop an earth-shattering plot to overthrow the kingdom in the small .country where they both grew up.
Eve is the princess of a small country that lies at the tip of France and is a neighboring country to Monaco. Due to a traumatic experience years ago, Eve chooses to learn to defend herself. During her training, she meets Gideon. The two of them quickly become close friends who have a lot in common.
Now, Eve and Gideon are both trained snipers for OZ and have been partners for over a decade. They are very close friends who know each other very well, both personally and professionally. They are also deeply in love with each other. However, they both keep their feelings a secret. Neither of them wants to destroy the perfection of their professional relationship.
Then Eve’s father, the King, gets wind of a plan to attack the palace and overthrow his regime. He sends for Eve and Gideon to find out who the traitors are so they can protect them from a potential dangerous attack.
Then Eve discovers that Gideon has kept a secret from her for over a decade. Eve is devastated, and as a result, their relationship is severely damaged. However, their growing concern about the potential attacks against Eve’s father, along with their strong loyalty to OZ, and their deep love allows them to continue to work together.
In this book Christy Reece creates an intricate plot that will keep readers on the edge of their seats for the entire book. It is filled with non-stop action, riveting suspense and a lot of twist-and-turns to confuse readers.
Ms. Reese also creates complex, multi-layered characters. Eve, in spite of being a princess, is strong, courageous, very independent, and one of the best snipers in OZ. Gideon is also strong and courageous. He is also loyal to his colleagues in OZ and to Eve. In spite of their career choice as snipers, they are basically kind, caring and ethical people. But they also have their faults that often get in the way of their relationship. On the other hand, their integrity never allows them to stray too far from their ethics.
This couple’s beautiful, heartwarming relationship plays an important part in this story. Ms. Reece describes their relationships as being full of “devotion, tenderness, passion and a powerful, all-consuming love.” Their unconditional love is so strong, deep and invincible that it is able to overcome all obstacles.

Eve Wells spent her first 21 years as the only princess from the country of Ile de la Lune, but after she was abducted and then saved, she vowed to never be helpless again. Leaving the monarchy and joining OZ (Option Zero) gave her a way to help others as well as herself. Her partner, Gideon Wright, becomes the only person she trusts completely, until everything falls apart when Eve is seriously injured in an explosion, and she learns the truth.
Ruthless starts out with a good premise and interesting protagonists, but the story goes several different directions with lots of different problems and characters. Much of the plot is filled with backstory and discussions of accusations but not much on-page action. While several characters from previous books in the series do appear, they really don't do much to further the narrative. The villain of the novel is over the top and difficult to believe. Overall, Ruthless simply doesn't live up to this author's earlier novels - not recommended. 2 1/2 stars

Christy Reece has written another thrilling book in the Option Zero series. Eve and Gideon deliver a compelling read that not only sucked me in but kept me reading right through.
Reece knows how to dive into the suspense of a story, thrills, shocks, and a bit of a twist you never see coming are always commonplace among these types of stories, but what I love most is that there is always something different, some small factor that sucks you in and keeps you guessing. nonstop action
This whole series is just one amazing story after another. The way they worked as a team but also the individual stories. I cannot wait for the next installment. I have no idea what will become of Sean and Serena.
There was definitely nonstop action of all kinds in this book. It also intertwines all the other characters on going lives. The Romance is enduring and loving.

Ruthless is the best Option Zero yet. It kept me guessing through the entire book, although I did question a few things before they were revealed in the book. So happy for Eve after all she went through. You will need to put enough time aside to read this non stop or you will be going crazy till you can continue reading it…Thank you Christy

Once again Christy Reece has written another 5 star book. I have read ever book she has ever written and I really don’t think she can write a bad book. This book just grips you right at the beginning and it never lets go! Just as I think I’ve figured something out and wham I learn I know nothing!

Ruthless is everything! This book will have you feeling all the emotions. Eve and Gideon's story will leave you on the edge of your seat until the very end. In my opinion, this is the best story written by Christy Reece. Don't miss out on this incredible story of lies, intrigue, and love.

Action Packed Adventure
Loved the suspense and action of the story. I just wanted to keep reading. Even though it's a love story as well, it didn't get to syrupy! Loved the story line. Been a Big fan of Christy Reece for several years, already for the next book.

If you’ve read any of the other Option Zero books you will be familiar with the characters and their mission. This story was centered around Eve and Gideon, their partnership, and their work. They are solid together, until they’re not.
As often happens with the team, this assignment is personal to Eve and the outcome will affect her future in more ways than just completing it successfully. I did not want to put this book down. The story was so well written that I felt a part of the action going on from start to finish. To me it is an excellent book when I “talk” to the characters. You know what I mean. You chastise them for doing stupid things, or acting unreasonable. Ruthless gave me that interaction with the characters that I crave in a book. I can’t tell you how many times I was irritated with Eve and told her so. I empathized with her as well. There is heartbreak and deception, and even underlying despair that will suck you in and make you feel. There are also twists and turns and that unexpected “What?” that leaves you wondering. Ruthless highlights the terrible hit that Eve and Gideon’s long-term relationship and partnership takes. It keeps you turning the pages to find out how or if it can possibly survive. Sometimes things work out, and sometimes they don’t. You never know in which direction Christy will take her characters. She’s surprised us before. Read Ruthless and find out which way this one goes. It doesn’t disappoint.

Gideon Wright and Eve Wells have been partners for years, gone through difficult missions together, and are best friends. When Eve is injured in a motorcycle accident he takes her home and we find out all kinds of things about both of their pasts.
Eve had something tragic happen to her as a teenager which completely changed her outlook on life and her path. She wanted to be strong, skilled, and able to protect herself. She is one of the strongest characters I have ever had the privilege of reading. And you cannot help but love these two characters.
When I finished Ruthless I had to stare into space for a little bit because I had no words except wow. There is so much action in this book and every time I sit down to read a Christy Reece book I know I am not going to be doing anything else and come out the other side with a book hangover. I loved seeing all the OZ characters and cannot wait to read the next book. I hope Sean gets it together. I highly recommend this book and series.

Gideon Wright and Eve Wells are the perfect blend of best friends, partners and a spicy couple. In Ruthless, the 4th book in Christy Reece's Option Zero Series, there are secrets that both of them are keeping that are getting in the middle of not only being effective partners, but exploring the feelings that they both have for each other.
Eve is the perfect heroine...strong, stubborn, protective and kind. Gideon is just as protective, loyal and bends over backwards to protect those in his life...whether or not they want the protection!
There is so much action in this book, and every time I say that I have a favorite Christy Reece book, or series, or character...she writes something even more top notch and I am left again trying to figure out if I have a favorite.
If you have not read Christy Reece, please do so immediately. If you like action, annoying bad guys and plenty of drama and spice you won't regret it.

A romantic suspense with lots of action and suspense. The story is driven by the characters deep connection to one another though there are a lot of secrets and betrayals. I loved the early connection of the characters and especially the impact it had on Gideon. Eve’s background is unique to this series (love it) but her skills are definitely elite OZ operative. Gideon is so devoted and protective of Eve that he repeatedly takes her choices from her. Their dedication and respect for one another as well as their mutual attraction comes off the pages. This is a complete story but all the books in the series are a continuation of the OZ team seeking justice and I have a feeling that the threat that this couple faced isn’t quite over and will play out in future books. Christy writes intriguing stories with complex characters. I love every single book she has written.

Christy has done it again and given us the exact hero and heroine that we need. With the talk of royalty in these days, it was a brilliant way to add some finesse and beauty into what is sometimes a dark world. Option Zero has given us all kinds of relationships , both old ones and new ones. And Christy always make sure to give us heroes we can look up to. I would never hesitate to encourage anyone who loves romantic suspense to give her series a try. The characters are so human, and the scenes are romantic but also adventurous . And we never lack for a narcissistic villain we love to hate.

This is another fantastic read in Christy Reece’s OZ Series with great action,heart,love and mystery. Gideon and Eve are great friends who are halves that make the perfect whole. We get to know their history and pasts which is ultimately what makes them who they are. This story brings you in right away and keeps up a phenomenal pace of intrigue, love and who done it. These characters are full of heart and strength but are not afraid to show their weaknesses. I could not put this down and can’t wait for the next Oz book.

This story is part of the Option Zero series but could easily be read as a stand alone. Eve has been injured in an Op and her history with Gideon is revealed, threatening their relationship and trust. At the same time they are facing a shadowy group threatening Eve and her family. Can they overcome their trust issues and at the same time discover who this mysterious group is before it is too late. The action starts on the first page and doesn’t let up. There is a twist in the story that I didn’t see coming. I recommend this book and all the others in this series.

WOW!!! That is the only thing that comes to mind after reading this book. Christy Reece has done it again. This work is full of love, deceit, surprise, and the unexpected. Once I started, I could not put it down. The relationship between Eve and Gideon is one that everyone needs to read about. She is a strong woman who can stand on her own, but he is there for when she needs the extra. They complement each other.
While this the fourth book in the series, you could follow along without reading the others but for a great experience, read the others first.

Christy Reece has an incredible way of building characters who come to life! They’re loyal, genuine, passionate, and yes, they even have flaws that we can relate to.
Ruthless was an excellent addition to the Operation Zero world! Gideon and Eve’s story is heartbreaking and moving. In Christy Reece fashion it also has some interesting surprises!!
It is the 4th book of a series I would recommend grabbing the first 3 so you can enjoy this story to the max.

Ruthless is the long-awaited sequel in the Option Zero series and it was worth the wait!! Eve Wells and Gideon Wright have been friends and partners for ten years and after all this time, secrets are unveiled that have the potential to tear them apart. The secrets that threaten them also threaten their beloved country and the must take care of these threats before even bigger threats take them out!

What a fabulous story! I loved both Eve and Gideon and learning about their families and their history. Plenty of action and uncertainty as they try to uncover the plot against them. Betrayal on many levels, yet loyalty and devotion, too. Great to see our friends from OZ acting like the wonderful team they are. Another brilliant book that you will have trouble putting down. Highly recommended.
