This book is a collection of short essays by some amazing authors. It was an enjoyable, meditatively serene read from cover to cover.

A sampler with some brilliant moments. This was my daily-launch book for about a week, and a richly-launched week that was. Alas, the chaff to wheat ratio -- not so favorable. Charlotte Joko Beck's essays ring out brassy and sharp; I was hoping to find other writings as startling as hers, but didn't. (Small point: the introductions to each section were unnecessary. As short as each chapter often is, no need to tell me about what will take me a moment to read.)

This was my morning reading from the past couple of weeks. I've been engaged in mindfulness practice for a couple of years now, and I found this collection of essays wonderfully helpful and inspiring. The diversity of perspectives (Alan Watts, Robert Pirsig, Sheila Boorstein) is delightful, and each chapter gives you a fresh take on meditation/mindfulness that will enrich the practice of both beginner and experienced person.
