the urge to cut this up (ITS A LIBRARY BOOK) and paste all the pictures on my walls is so so so strong

Hassam is a brilliant artist, and this book (along with the other two I read) highlights his genius. The color plates are abundant, the text clear, and the musings interesting. I lost myself for hours pouring over the images, studying the brushwork and color masses and globs of paint.

Oh, to paint like this. Or even a close approximation.
