Here are just a few examples of what I learned by reading Ever-Flowing Streams.

Dana Taylor recommends the use of whole food supplements over vitamins.

"The first month on the whole food Chinese herbs changed my life. My system absorbed the power of the herbs. My body cleansed. Energy levels stayed higher longer."

"The body is a living organism. It functions better ingesting live foods high in enzymatic activity-salads, veggies, nuts and grains."

"Cooked foods are dead. Processed foods are dead. Dead things rot. Eat live food. Life begets life."

Dana describes a demonstration she attended where a drop of blood was taken from each person in attendance. Viewing of the blood on slides in a microscope revealed molecules squashed together in chains, deformed cells missing chunks, and wormy things amongst some of the cells. After rubbing essential oils on the bottom of the feet and waiting twenty minutes, a viewing of new samples of blood revealed cells that were energized and more healthy. "The life force of plants transmits power to humans through the application of oils."

No author takes credit for A Course in Miracles. The book was channeled through a Professor of Medical Psychology at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in the 1970's.

Dana Taylor discusses the the study of the fascinating power of prayer on ice crystals that was conducted by Dr. Masaru Emoto.

"A study of twenty-four US cities showed that whenever a city reached a point where one percent of the population was carrying out regular prayer for peace, the crime rate dropped 24 percent. Many scientists and theorists believe that collective consciousness can influence population group behavior."

I hope to reread this book and read from the recommended reading list at the end on healing prayer, energy healing sources, and healing and frequency sources.

I have known about this book for quite some time, but it took a "miracle" of sorts to allow me to open my mind enough to actually read it. A friend of mine, Mary Cunningham, who is on her own personal journey, sent me an email recently and suggested that I try to get in touch with a Reiki practioner for a Reiki massage. I was stunned. I could not believe the words, Mary is one of the most skeptical people I know, at least she used to be. Mary went on to tell me about an experience she had had, and I was amazed to realize the change in her voice and her choice of words, her overall attitude. I was talking to this fresh and invigorated person who was more excited about something than I think I had ever seen her. It warmed me. It inspired me. So when Mary said she had read "Ever-Flowing Stream: Tapping into Healing," twice, and loved it, I decided to put my well being in Mary's hands. Turns out I was putting it in my own hands.

Dana Taylor has offered up her view of something that has not always been widely accepted. Reiki and self-healing are often considered "unsavory" to say the least. Dana offers her personal background with regard to life and how to get the most out of it. She doesn't give the meaning of life, but she certainly offers insight into how to give one's life meaning.

Powerful stories and raw emotion are masked beneath her subtle humor and downhome personality. While the book is not a tutorial or a lesson, it is a guidepost to consider something more.

As a Muslim, I will say that I sometimes found her Christian analogies a bit confusing, but they did not detract from the ultimate goal of the book. I did not read this from my religious self, I read it from my whole self. I would especially tell anyone who has issues with forgiveness to read this book. But be forewarned, it won't change your life. You will have to do that yourself, and Dana Taylor helped me realize how much I want to achieve.

Affirming

As a Christian, I had so many hang ups about anything that smacked of "witchcraft". Even so, recently I have been bombarded by concepts such as reincarnation, energy healing, chakras... No doubt I had those old fear driven voices whispering to me at every point. Dana's book helped me to have a major breakthrough...this is all so much grander than anything I could have imagined. I can still be a believer, but follow the breadcrumbs that lead to healing and restoration. Thank you, Dana, for establishing a trail for me and others like me who are being led down the "rabbit hole" and into freedom.

I've recently become interested in the energy centres in each of us (chakras), and how many our our physical and mental problems are manifested by interruption of this energy - problems with past lives, things from our childhood we may not be aware of, negative emotions like jealousy, etc, can all affect us in a negative way and produce physical ailments. Because of this, Dana's book was so interesting to me.

There is a lot of Dana's Christian influence in the book (and rightly so, as it's her memoir). I'm not religious at all, although I am spiritual, and believe more in the influence of the Universe and how it affects us. You don't have to be religious to learn the valuable information contained inside this inspiring and insightful book. There is a lot of information and reference points contained in the pages, as she explains the power of energy healing and its different methods. I couldn't put it down.

This book wasn't that bad, but there are lots of other books that say the same things much better. This is more of a memoir of one woman's spiritual healing journey than it is a self-help type book. Although marketed as New Age, the entire books is based on a Christian perspective. If you follow other beliefs, then this book will probably not be for you. The author discusses her successes with healing techniques such as living food, Reiki, essential oils, and healing prayer. There are a few meditative "exercises" throughout the book, but I believe I've seen similar ones in many other meditation books. And the author puts very little direction or discussion in with these exercises.

A fresh, honest accounting

A fresh, frank accounting of one woman’s spiritual journey into awareness, wellness, and healing. Starting out as an agnostic, author Dana Taylor first embraces Christianity, then winds her way through past life regression, healing prayer, reiki, and other teachings and the ways in which energy and intention connect them all. Keep your mind open and you will find that in so many ways Taylor’s journey may mirror your own. Taylor quotes a variety of resources including the Bible, forcing readers to think critically about their own life experiences more holistically than before.

While this is by no means a magic book of healing, Taylor does offer some guidance to any and all comers to help them get in touch with their own healing energies. And isn’t that what life is all about? Recognize your own truth, get in touch with your own energies, and if you’re so inclined, share your energies out to the benefit of others.

This book is a real testament to those curious individuals who feel the connection between life forces, to those who understand that there are no lines between belief systems, to those who embrace all the wonderful ways in which we coexist. For me, it felt a bit like coming home. Maybe it will for you, too.

Expansive healing energy

I'm had this book for a while now. After taking a level one reiki healing class I searched my Kindle library for anything on reiki and came up with this book at a perfect time, just when I could appreciate its colorful interweaving of so much ancient and contemporary wisdom. The author and I share similar journeys and have each read the work many great healers and researchers. Her reading list at the end of the book is a rich source for those who wish to know more about energy and spiritual healing. Her experiences with reiki have fortified my own. This is a lovely book by a gifted healer who walks her talk. It's always a blessing to read about the experiences of someone who is clearly of like mind. Thank you Dana.

A gift for the reader!

I loved this book. As a Reiki practitioner and seeker, I was not too surprised at the miracle of the stream, but who doesn't need reminding? Who doesn't need to hear of another's beautiful journey? In many ways, our journeys paralleled...discovering Wayne Dyer, Eric Pearl, past life regression, a Course in Miracles, and distance healing. I was raised as a Christian in the Roman Catholic church. Questions were not encouraged in my spiritual education. But I hope and pray books such a Dana's will inspire and motivate more people to open to the miracles around us, most importantly Love. Thank you, Dana, for your gift. Namaste.

So articulately written. I enjoyed reading about a healer’s development from this perspective, her observations, epiphanies, learnings and growth and connection to her skill.

I am very pleased with the many resources referenced by the author which have given me new reading material to add to my list.

There was a natural flow and I found the book overall a very engaging read (hence finishing it in 2 evenings).

Reading this book made me feel like I was sitting down with a friend, drinking coffee, and listening as she openly shared her life's story. I come from a very conventional Christian background and have always felt there is more to the spiritual realm than just what I was taught. I also have had to keep many of my questions and personal beliefs to myself since they don't necessarily fit in with the beliefs of many in my circle of friends and family. For these reasons, I admire and appreciate Dana Taylor's honest, heart-felt story of her spiritual journey.

So much of what she wrote in Ever-Flowing Streams seems plausible to me and oftentimes affirmed things I have considered myself. Taylor does point out that there will be readers who question her Christian faith. She also asks that anyone reading her book will do so with an open mind, and I did. She doesn't try to push her beliefs on the reader; she simply shares her story and offers some data to back up her conclusions. She definitely gave me a lot of information to consider, and I will be rereading parts of the book as I contemplate what it might mean to my own spiritual journey.

Ever-flowing Streams is about much more than healing. It's about faith and forgiveness. It's about health and the foods we eat. It's about the power of prayer. Mostly, it's about being open to the idea that our Creator has much more for us than what we've limited him to. I'm so glad I read Dana Taylor's book-- it is what I had been looking for... without even realizing I was looking for it.

Everything about Dana Taylor's story strikes truth. Like many seekers, she is led to this truth via unresolved health issues that plague her from a young age. Her healing begins with a Christian conversion, which is also a true thing, but not the end of the story. She is next led (reluctantly) to a Reiki practitioner who reveals that the underlying energetic causes of Taylor's illness are events rooted in a past life. Taylor herself is initially skeptical of this, but the relief she receives from the subsequent treatments ultimately render her a believer.

This book is not an ordinary spiritual coming of age. The author's journey is a fast track through many dimensions of intellect, emotion, and spiritual alchemy that test her faith, raise her up, and deposit her on the shores of a new life. For me, her story strikes truth not only in its compelling honesty, but also in the careful crafting of revelatory sequence that allows the reader to accompany Taylor easily on her journey. I remained with her the entire time, as amazed as she was at the unfolding narrative. This is a highly intelligent and fascinating book from which many people on divergent spiritual paths can benefit.

grr - it erased my review. Timing is great with this free kindle book. She uses chakra techniques as well as Reiki. The power of prayer is powerful in this woman. It is her journey of finding Healing to help her and others in her life. (as well as her city- no small stuff for this woman!) Has a section on MN and reincarnation to my surprise since I couldn't see all the title but it goes along my spiritual journey of awakening. She has included many step by step techniques to try. Good book list of other good books in this same realm. I am glad I read this book, was surprised to see that prayer changes even the 'little things' and I am going to try it a try too, I am not religious.

Dana Taylor takes a subject many don't think about and presents it in a clear and concise way that is not only easily understandable but backed with valid citations and notes. She does not try to go off on different tangents but stays on topic and provides personal experience to back up what she writes. More than just a memoir, it's a journey shared with others who may be on the same journey or needing to know it's possible to make that journey in the life they walk now.

Thank you for an open and well written book to fill a need for others.

This book is amazing. I admire the confidence of the author to bring together what sometimes seem disparate sources of healing, and admire that even when groups to which she belonged got side-tracked, she stayed the course. She gives me courage, helps me push through my own doubts. Sometimes books about spiritual healing have a strong beginning and then get bogged down or confused, but not this one. The journey with this author is one worth taking.
