About the author

Debi Gliori (born 1959) is a Scottish author and illustrator of children's books.
She grew up as an only child in Glasgow, and when young began drawing and writing stories. She started writing children's books in 1976, and attended art school in Edinburgh from 1979 to 1984. She then received a travelling scholarship award to go to Milan, and worked as a freelance from 1984 onwards.
She is the author/illustrator of many books for children including Mr Bear, the winner of a Children's Book Award. She is best known for her black comedy Pure Dead series for older children, which display strong elements of family lives amid dark and fantasy-based plots.

This, as of late, has been Alex's favorite book. He wants a new baby more than anything, and he thought that this book was pretty funny. To make it most effective, you have to read the first line "where did this baby come from" with a huge amount of disdain!

This book asks the question of where babies come from. It suggests various possibilities that are presented in a funny and rhythmic way, such as through a seed or buying the baby from a shop. The book does not offer many opportunities for lesson activities, but it is a fun and entertaining book to read to children as a story. It would also be useful for young children who are expecting a new baby brother or sister.

This book has just too many complaining pages about babies - I get tired of it's constant plead to send the baby back and to not have so many babies. There's just too many other books that treasure babies to waste time reading this one.

Where Did That Baby Come From is an educational book for young children who are curious about why babies are around. When the baby tiger crys then the tiger says take that baby back! The whole book is about the downsides of babies, but at the end the tiger loves his baby tiger and wants to keep him. Its an informational book for children if they have a younger sibliing to let them know that babies are not always easy to take care of, but they can be sweet and love comes first.

Very cute - we only got this today and have read it three times already. Julia loved it the very first read. I love the rhyming and she loves the story! We don't have another baby coming but I picked this up since she's been asking questions about babies and while I didn't know what to expect it's perfect to read to a four year old.

This was a cute get-ready-for-new-baby book where the baby tiger/kitten? goes through all the possibilities of where baby came from and in some cases whether it could be returned. Rhyming, short, but not too short and nice pictures. One of the more fun ones on the subject.
