This book is a collection of articles about incidents in America's past. I appreciated the first article with its interesting thesis and details about Jamestown, but the next three seemed to build a lot of article out of very little facts, but I held on and read the other articles, interesting and well supported; the articles treat incidents from the Peggy Eaton challenge of Jackson's presidency, the beginnings of West Virginia, and interesting fragments on slavery and canal building before the Civil War. Informative and fun to read for history fans.
