Some of these designs are just amazing! I loved the office with the tatami floors and dug out meeting table. I think you called it a shoes off office. Wonderful.

This book describes places such as offices, shops, hotels and homes remodeled according to the principles of harmony with the environment, association between tradition and modernity, simplicity through the use of neutral/ natural colors (mostly white and wooden). The spaces seem immense and empty (even when they are not), light is everywhere and the furniture's design is very sober. Each place is accompanied by architectural comments about the choice of materials, the orientation of the building, the light and the personal concept developed by the architect.

These designs will not be for everyone.
Some are amazing. Some are, well, questionable. Even by Japanese standards.
And, of course, I am always drawn to the bathrooms and the bathtubs.
