Cree Radek is one of Hollywood’s hottest stars. He’s an unapproachable alpha wrapped in black leather and spikes, with ice blue eyes lined in black. And to most fans and those who know him well, he’s hard to read, and all sex.
Evan Walker works for Cree as his assistant. Long hours and living arrangements, however, make it impossible to keep things professional. So when things get steamy, Evan is an easy target. But for Cree, Evan is a lot more than a one-night stand.
When family business takes Evan away in the middle of filming, Cree wants him back. But will Evan ever believe that a celebrity can be faithful?
I SUCK at remembering to log in and approve friends. I'm so sorry I've made some of you wait. Please forgive my apparent chill, I swear it's not intended. Come hug me!
2.5 Stars on a good day, but unfortunately I'm having a bad day.
Evan was such an IDIOT!!! I was so frustrated and annoyed with this book I wanted to scream. I didn’t feel any emotional connection between Evan and Cree. They knew each other for like 3 weeks and only had sex with each other 1.5 times; bad sex immediately followed with fighting. Yet they were in love and couldn’t be without each other?? Whoopie!!! I guess all the important stuff must have happened off the page because I didn’t see anything great between them!! Plus, the whole plot was pointless because all Even had to do from the beginning was hire a private investigator. If I was Cree, I wouldn’t have wasted my time on Evan and given him another chance.
Eh, this book was no where near as good as the first book!
I liked it but it didn't have the same charm as the first one IMO and i didn't like either of these characters as much as the ones from the first book. We learn a little about Ethan but know nothing about Cree at the end he mentions Overall it just felt really under developed and very rushed
Also the names were switched in a few places which is annoying and seems to be happening a lot in the new releases i have been reading by this author.
The story was okay, but for my piece of mind everything happened simply to fast. The plot was easy and realistic, but again, all the emotions from Evan and Cree didn't felt real and right. It was like the words were thrown together or written to fast. I'm sure this plot could have been better written with some deeper work.
I am not sure I bought the Insta-Love. I think this would have worked better if Evan had been working for Cree for much longer and the relationship was drawn out over months instead of weeks. Otherwise, cute story.
There is more to Evan leaving home for Hollywood than finding employment. It has nothing to do with stardom, finding love, or abandoning his mother. Although being employed in the movie industry will help Evan achieve the goals that he left home for. Working as Cree Radek’s assistant is a job he takes very seriously. He needs the money to help him acquire the answers he is seeking. He doesn’t expect the attraction and he certainly doesn’t anticipate the reciprocation of all the thoughts and feelings that he is experiencing in the presence of his larger than life employer. The armor that Cree wears is to protect him from others. He doesn’t need people in his life that will use him for his fame or money. He doesn’t need lovers that are just looking to add a notch in their belt. So to keep users away he has created an image that keeps people out. The problem with that is his new assistant and how perceptive he his. Cree also sees something in Evan that he doesn’t see in many people and it’s that quality that makes him want more than just an assistant out of Evan. Acting Out, the second book in Mia Watts Celebrity series works quite well as a stand-alone. There is a mention of one of the previous books characters and one of the characters (minor role) has another minor role here in this installment of this sexy gay romance series.
One thing I absolutely loved about this story was that Cree, the extremely hot, rebellious, popular star, is so vulnerable and so desperately wants someone to see him for himself. Evan, for his part, has a huge hang up about celebrities due to a father issue (even though really, his father wasn’t a celebrity. He was just a wanna be who deserted the family for Hollywood). It lost a little luster for me due to insta-love aspect. Had Evan been Cree’s assistant for a few months, I would have accepted it gladly, but it really had only been two weeks.
You want to shake Evan in some points, yet in a way I could see how he was protecting himself. I wish this had been longer, we could then have gotten to see more of Cree and his history (not the silver spoon baby Evan had assumed he was). Cree himself is lovely, once you see past the eyelinered bad boy image. Even their first kiss, just a heart break for him. And even after, Cree is just generous and sweet.

3.5 STARS
Acting Out is a quick paced love story. Cree is an actor, Evan is his assistant with an agenda. He's looking for his father that skipped out on his mom when he was a child. He needs to find him to have him served with papers to pay all the back child support owed to his mother. Evan took the job with Cree as means to an end. His unexpected attraction for Cree is a problem. It's something that can't go any further, it has to be a fling. Can Cree deal with that? Can Evan stay true to his word?
There was the insta-love factor but on a short novella it sort of has to be that way. It's a quick read but I was into it. I enjoyed the story, the intimacy between them. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
This lost some oomph coming off the charming first book (Wrong Number, Right Guy). I think 'Acting Out' started off great with cute Evan Walker as personal assistant to bratty celeb actor, Cree Radek. There was good chemistry and sexual tension between them even though Evan's in Hollywood for an heavier reason than just rubbing elbows with the stars. The second half of this short fizzled out as there really was some clumsy 'acting out' between the two hunksters that reduced this from fun and sexy to more trivial and whiny.
(How confusing that Tibby Armstrong also has a book 2 in her 'Hollywood' series called Acting Out published after this one.)
Evan Walker is in Hollywood working as assistant to Cree Radek, Hollywood royalty. The arrogant actor is growing on him and when one night they get a lot closer he sees the man behind the façade and knows he could fall for him. But he is in Hollywood on a mission that’s preventing him from falling for anyone. Cree Radek has seen many people come and go in his life, most of them in it only for what they can get from him. But Evan is different and he finds himself falling or the man. Only to be disappointed. Again. Can Evan fulfil his mission and follow his heart? This was a short read, which I liked much better then ‘Hollywood Hotties 1, Wrong Number, Right Guy’. Still, there isn’t much character development, everything stays on the surface and the declarations of love and a future together seem very rushed.
Evan Walker came to Hollywood to find his dead beat father that left his mom to struggle and raise a child alone, not to fall in love with his boss, the hot actor with a hard exterior, Cree Radek. Although getting a job with the hot actor, will help him out with his search and hopefully get him closer to helping his mom to the better life Evan feels she should have always had.
Cree Radek is a hot actor at the top in Hollywood but is known as a hard ass who doesn’t play well with others. He keeps to himself and only goes out when he needs to so that he doesn’t get played and taken advantage of, as many can do in his business. But when Evan walks into his life and becomes his assistant, all that changes. Cree has fallen for Evan but can he trust him? The same can be said from Evan’s point of view. Can Evan trust Cree with his heart and not be used and left behind like his father did to his mother?
When I found out book two in the Hollywood Hotties was out I got a little excited as I liked book one, “Wrong Number, Right Guy” a lot giving it 4 stars. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy the story but it just felt like I had read it before and already knew what was going to happen. Now with that said, you do feel the emotions and feelings between Cree and Evan, and you understand where Evan is coming from and why he’s afraid to really trust Cree with his heart. The change that happens so quickly with Cree, showing his true self to Evan is great and shows that his persona is just an act and that he really does have a heart of gold and cares for Evan, is felt in his actions more than in his words. Even though I knew how it was going to end, Mia kept you invested enough to want to keep reading and discover if the love Evan and Cree had for each other would play out as I thought or if there would be some kind of twist that I didn’t expect. If I told you what exactly happens, what would the fun in that be, you have to find out for yourself. I am looking forward to a third book in the series and am hoping that Brett Shackley, the one character that shows up in both books finally gets his happy ending.

FiveStars I was extremely impressed with this installation of the Hollywood Hotties Series. I loved Cree and Evan.
Evan is looking to find his dead beat dad that left his mother pregnant and alone. Working for Cree is only a means to an end. Until he realizes that the persona that Cree hides behind is just that, a shield to keep the rest of the world out.
Cree has been used many times in his life and being a celebrity only made it worse. However, when Even starts to find links to his father, he starts to see that there is more to the man who is his assistant.
There is instalove situation, however, for once, it worked for me. This story wrenched my heart out and even made me tear up because I was that connected to the characters even though it is a short story. I felt like the characters connected in the heat of the moment, but everything they went through and finding out the real man behind the different facades they used helped them establish so much real quick.
I can't wait for the next part of this story and can't wait to see where Mia takes the next characters! I was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.

FourStars Cree Radek and Evan Walker are a couple that I wouldn’t normally put together.
I enjoyed their banter, their chemistry was somewhat there, but found that the book felt really rushed.
I really wanted more from the story about Evan and his family. It was just kind of left. I did enjoy his mom and her perspective, but overall, I wanted more from that side of things. However, I did really like how Evan described his life. It was not as if he was really “lost” or some of the cliché things that authors do in stories like this one.
I also really liked how Cree was able to come out of his own shell a little in this book. I enjoyed the way he tried to take care and despite being hurt, he was able to put his feelings aside and really learn how to forgive.
This was a good story; it just left a little more for me to want. I was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.
This was more consistent than the first book in this series, Wrong Number, Right Guy, but it lost some of the charm. It got a bit needlessly melodramatic like the first book, but to a lesser degree, which was nice. The characters never really got developed, especially Cree. Overall, it was still a fun, short read even though it led to some frustration.
As much as I loved and enjoyed Wrong Number, Right Guy, the first book in this series, that's how much I just didn't like this one, sad to say. I just didn't connect with the characters or feel like Evan and Cree connected to each other either.
