A distinctly original sci-fi fusion which contains spectacular characterization with inspired vision.

I was greatly impressed by this extraordinary story, surprisingly written in third person perspective as if someone is reading it to you aloud. Beautifully detailed and in-depth, the author’s attention to detail and extensive world-building was quite astonishing and as impressive as any top science-fiction writer (i.e Orson Scott Card or Peter F Hamilton). The clever combination of characters of different ages and races added to the story’s supreme singularity, with the emotions of each character (whether that is a child, adult, human or droid) projected so as to create realism and sincerity. What enchanted me most was Mark Mackey’s creativity, innovative imagery and remarkable vision which made this space exploration a mind-blowing otherworldly wonderland of epic proportions and dazzling delights.

Genesis ~ is about a young girl called Elizabeth who lands upon planet Earth, and who is originally from a planet known as Tarnex-4. She was lucky enough to escape from an invasion of her home planet, but as a consequence she had to leave her parents and beloved sister behind. Despite trying to fit-in in her new life in Nevada with her human family, she always feels out of sorts and never quite finds her feet upon Earth.
Split into various sections ~ (1) the disappearance of Elizabeth’s friend Jordan, (2) finding out who she really is and her past, and (3) the great conspiracy to take over the throne of Tarnex-4.

This is an explosive science-fiction/ fantasy Young Adult tale just jam-packed with Ghosts, alien technology, solar systems, Robots, other worlds and magic! With a gutsy main protagonist, who is a heroic role-model and likeable character this is a book filled with heartfelt poignancy, realism and truth-drawing meaningful prose. Despite the author’s uniquely identifiable writing style (perhaps a little different from the norm), I would greatly recommend this fantastic story which exceeded and surpassed all my expectations. Supremely spellbinding, engrossing and completely unputdownable this compelling saga is a magnificent accomplishment and a definite must-read.

Science fiction, ghosts, magical powers, alien technology, robots twisted bad guys, other worlds, a female child heroine. This was a really interesting story.

I found it super difficult to get into however, the author puts in so many details, that I found my mind overwhelmed. His style it a bit tricky, too.

With all that said, I did find myself enjoying this book. Our heroine child comes to Nevada and gets adopted by a normal Earth family which is always amusing in a story line. There is a lot going on in this book. A fantastic story, with many different main characters the reader gets involved with. All for 99 cents. Bargain!

A sweet and exciting tale of a young girl named Elizabeth from Planet Tarnex-4 who escaped an invasion to overtake her kingdom, leaving behind her sister and parents whom she believed to be captured by the invaders and killed. She landed on planet earth and was found by a family in Nevada whom decided to adopt her. Elizabeth leads a normal earth life with her new family, until trouble arises when people begin to feel uneasy, there’s something different about Elizabeth. Elizabeth grows into such a herione, would make any girl proud. There are many twists and exciting thrills to this book and I would hate to spoil anything, so I recommend this to anyone who’s very into Sci-Fi Fantasy. A wonderful thrilling book for all ages of YA and up!

There are so many characters in this book, and I love the author’s ability to flow between the different dialogues of each character, and to maintain realistic emotions of each person while staying true to their age, the children, adults and droids. Mark Mackey has a wondrous imagination, superb grammar and editing skills, truly a piece of art.

Genesis is a science fiction adventure staring Elizabeth, a young alien who narrowly escapes space criminals, who attack her home planet Tarnex-4. She lands on Earth, where, appearing human, she forms a normal life with best friends, a boyfriend, and a family who adopts her. Everything goes awry when people with hatred for aliens discover her heritage.

The novel is written in conversational, third person from the view of many different characters. And Mark Mackey makes it seem easy as the flow naturally changes from one character to another. Mr. Mackey has a remarkable keen eye for step by step details. Between the twist and turns, the well developed characters, and the thorough plot, I fell in love with this book. I strongly recommend it to young adults and up who enjoy science fiction/fantasy.

Please note: I receive this book from the author for an honest review.

It was a good read and it brings the world of fantasy and mysticm together like a woven rug. It has its twists and turns and really brings the story together well. It can however be tricky if you're not used to a lot of reading or have a mind for fantasy level stories. It's best to be someone who reads this kind of stuff to really get a feel for what the author is trying to say in the story.

Definitely an author to watch out for.

You meet Elizabeth, a young princess on a new planet, but immediately feel sorry for her as you watch her entire family die. Heading to Earth while escaping from the criminals, Elizabeth gets a new life, but is followed by tragedy.

Heart warming and an "on the edge of your seat read."

It was an ok book with bouncing back and forth between perspectives. It has it's ups and downs but otherwise good. A few grammatical errors and slow in some parts rushed in others it was a interesting read. I would not recommend it to anyone under the age of 18 but anyone who's a sci-FI fan over 18 I would recommend.

I was completely enthralled in this book before the second chapter. Mark Mackey has a unique way of drawing the reader in and not letting go. Genesis is written mostly in a conversational format, giving the reader a perspective into all the emotions and actions of each character. Some strange twists and turns brings aliens, ghosts, and humans all together into one imaginable world. Nothing is left out. Action, suspense, mystery, great sadness, and unconditional love. By being conversational, this author also left the details up to my own imagination, which went crazy! I recommend Genesis to all readers in all age ranges. You will not be disappointed.

A Fun Read

The Elizabeth Chronicles was a very interesting science fiction. And although Mark Mackey does not have it listed as Young Adult, I feel that this book is exactly that. I believe young readers will enjoy the characters and storyline. I enjoyed it, and I am not that young anymore. I do look forward to reading part 2, if there is one. I want to know if Elizabeth returns to her human love.

You won't be disappointed with Elizabeth's story. I felt sorry for her on so many occasions especially after she had to flew her home planet and start a new life on Earth. If you like books with extraterrestrials, ghosts and zombies, this book has it all. I won't give any more away. You'll just have to read it for yourself. I was able to keep up with all the different viewpoints and fell in love with all the characters. I'm looking forward to more works by Mark Mackey. Well done!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It starts off with the Axelmore Family whose oldest daughter, Juliara reigns over and rules their kingdom. An assassin called Victor is hired to assassinate Juliara, and retrieve a necklace believed to possess powerful magic. After invading the Kingdom, he manages to slaughter the entire Axelmore family, except Elizabeth, the youngest who is only 10 years old. She escapes with the necklace and lands on earth where she is taken in by the Duncan family who raise her as their own. The story unfolds further where she integrates into society on earth, and how much more human she turns out to be than the actual humans who seek to harm and destroy all and any extra-terrestrial beings. Just as she finds her place and meets a boy, makes friends and adjusts to her new life, it turns out that the Axelmore family are still alive, and that the assassin Victor is still after her and her necklace. This is where the beginning of the end begins. There are four main elements in this story, and it turns out to be a fast-paced, action-packed and edge of your seat type of story.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked the author's writing style and I liked how all the elements came together right at the end. Gripping! If you enjoy these type of stories, this is a must read! Five stars! For sure!
