Since its release in fall of 2003, Dateable has taken the publishing world by storm, becoming a bestselling teen sensation and breaking the mold of interior design and content for teen nonfiction. Now Justin Lookadoo is back with the much-anticipated follow-up to Dateable: 97. Justin knows that teens are looking for books that speak to the teen life in language teens not only understand but use. Born from a turning point in Justin's life, these 97 random thoughts are like MTV on paper, never letting today's fast-thinking teens get bored. With short entries on everything from skydiving and horseback riding to hands-on scientific experiments and much more, Justin takes teens for an exciting, wisdom-filled ride to bring them closer to God and more in tune with the important things in life.
Still hate motivational books, but this one isn't bad. Quite an enjoyable tone and a fun read. Definitely one to read if you have nothing else! The humor is amazing!
I love this book. I have been using it as one of the readings for 8th grade confirmation for the past four years along with Luke and Exodus. It is that good. The kids love it. And we are Presbyterians, the frozen chosen, and the parents report their kids take it to school to read.
Justin Lookadoo is a hypocritical bastard. All through this book he praised god and saying how great he is and all that crap. He's preaching about acceptance and then he gets to the subject of Evolution and he called in all crap and anyone that believes in it is dumb, he's saying there's no evidence to back it up, but there's more evidence on evolution then there is on god.
Now onto the book: I was excited to read this book but the more I read it the less I liked it. I just skimmed over the last few pages. It was super preachy. I should have done some research on this one. I liked the idea behind it but I feel like it could have been done better by someone else and less preachy. Oh did I mention its really preachy.
This books is really good at sending the message of God's righteousness to people, especially teenagers, in a modern way without changing it. I really liked this book, it teaches me to be positive and compassionate. This book should be read by every teenage Christian.
I love Justin as a speaker, and I think this is a fantastic book for all teens to read, boys AND girls. It was a little difficult for me to keep engaged because it IS written for "kids"
LOVED some of the stories, illustrations and wisdom.
This is one of the most amazing books I've ever read, and the best book I've ever bought! Justin Lookadoo really knows how to let God use his work to reach people.
Not very impressive...the exercises were helpful, but there were only a couple that were original. A little cliche and watered down for my taste, and VERY repetative.
