I started the Heart Series last week and after the first book I thought it couldn't get any better....I was so wrong, the journey through The Heart Series has been amazing. "A Lost Heart" was no different! Brian Thompson has become one of my favorite characters and to read his story was breath taking. The Brian Thompson has always been there for his friends and family with unconditional love and protection; however Brian discover & fight for the family he didn't know existed and his family & friends have his back 100%. THIS IS A MUST READ, BUT U HAVE TO START FROM THE BEGINNING!!!! ENJOY

Bolling does it again.

Honestly I have nothing bad to say about any book I this series. Im so glad to finally know Brian's story. Cynthia is a real piece of work but I'm so glad he finally found his happy ending. I was getting sick of him being the odd !an out, protecting everybody else's family because he didn't have his own. I love the ending that Bolling wrote surrounding the kids. So precious. Starting the next book in the series right now!

Brian Thompson has watched all his friends find love and have a family. He is considered to Big Brother to the women in his friends life. He has always wondered what happened to his first love Caitlyn Montgomery. While JD and Tracy are campaining in Virgina, JD meets a young boy named Elliot that he instantly connects with. When he and Tracy find Elliot's mother, he comes face to face with Caitlyn. She asks him not to tell Brian that she has his son. She it trying to protect Brian from her very vindictive father. But instead jD sends Brian to small town where Caitlyn is under the guise of setting up security for his next visti. The women that are at the Bed and Breakfast are quite the characters. This is a very explosive story. Her father and the Judge in town are true criminals. I cheered when they were both brought down. I felt awful on the many young lives and families the two judges impacted because of how the judges are.

Wrongs made right

After Brian is released from the hospital did life change for him. JD found out something he knew Brian needed to know. He sent Brian on a mission. Brian had one spot his heart couldn't seem to heal from, Caitlyn.
In a small town, in Va, a beautiful woman loved her son Elliot beyond measure .
He loved his mommy and wanted to know more about his father who he had never met. Fate had a funny way of having two people find each other after nearly 10 years. A sinister plan was in place to try to keep them apart but truth and love prevail always. Great read filled with passion and full of surprises. Great read and fabulous storytelling.

Another riveting good read!

They say you can't go backward. They say that once you've lost it, it's gone. They also say young love is for fools. A Lost Heart begs to differ. For a lost heart usually comes from your first love that is never forgotten. This book brings back hope that love can still conquer all . It shows how the Heart that holds true love will remain thru hell and high water. On to book six!

Loved it!

This book had more laughs than the other books and I certainly enjoyed the break from the heavy topic. I absolutely adore Bart and Clem. The author did a wonderful job breathing life into the new characters. Cons: Cynthia is still a b*tch and the characters are still too accepting of bad behavior. Buy the book and get hooked like me!

Brian! Brian has always been one of my favorite people in The Heart series. He's the guy to have everyones back even with his one lapse in kissing his best friends wife.

Knowing Brian's demeaner and interesting humor, he had to have had some in his past that created his closed off heart. Caitlin being that person, only to find out she had his son.

Very good story. No one tells a story better than Ms Iris Bolling. Another great book in the series.

Every book in this series has been a great read. Having Brian find his heart again was magnificent. I always love children in a series, and his one had one of the cutest kids ever. Rereading this story was a treat.

Hearts are vital...

I enjoyed reading A Lost Heart as I have with all of Iris Bolling books I've read. JD and Tracy have a great storyline and the stories just keep getting better and better. Of course the other characters in the book helps to make the story worth reading.

Loved it.

The one tire thing you are missing in life is your one true love. Take a ride with Brian and Caitlin story. You will love it. An FBI agent takes on judges that is part of a ring that is taking young boys and selling them through human trafficking. Excellent story.

Loved it.

Despite several of the reviews, I actually loved this book. Brian finally found his true love. I also loved that they teased up the “Next Generation” series. Also, I do love that Cynthia finally got put in her place, and Carolyn finally calmed herself down!!!

Loved that Brian was able to find Caitlyn with a little help from J. D. and how they got to the bottom of what Caitlyn’s father was up to concerning Elliott

I thought the book was intriguing for the most part. It had moments where it dragged a bit. That was during the flashback scenes. I felt like if they had happened at the beginning and not been interspersed throughout the book, the pace would not have slowed down for me.

I wasn't sure if Caitlin's father knew what Colin's father was involved in or if Colin's father was just a means to an end for Caitlin's dad.

I also think Colin had to have some idea about what his father was doing. Especially after he asked Elliott that question. It had to have been a discussion had before he left town. Colin wasn't there when the secrets started to unfold.

This did not feel like an instalove story even if it did occur over a period of 3 days. I kind of wish more time could have been spent on Brian and Caitlin's current relationship instead of their past relationship.

This one felt like something was missing that I can't quite put my finger on. It was still an entertaining read.

A Fast three Days

I waited patiently for book five in “The Heart Series “ and was not in the least bit disappointed in the story line. Ms. Bolling did her thing with this one and will not disappoint her supporters. With each book a new main character takes the lead; in this one we are reacquainted with Brian Elliot Thompson.

Those that are keeping up with the series will remember that Attorney General JD Harris went on the campaign trail to Nickelsville, Virginia. While there JD gets the shock of his life as he meets up with Brian’s son Elliot and his mother Caitlyn, Brian’s college sweet heart that disappeared out of Brian’s life ten years ago. Meanwhile Brian is fresh out the hospital after being shot four times. Brian wants to get back to action protecting his friend JD but he is far from 100% so he’s stuck being a paper pusher. JD is stuck trying to come up with a plan where he will keep his word to Caitlyn by not telling Brian about his family. That plan is to send Brian to “Hicksville” VA to do a survey of area due to close proximity to Tennessee and the Tea Cup Party. JD knows that in a town with 800+ people there is not a way they will not see each other, and he has kept his word. Brian bored at work agrees to go. Nickelville has not seen anything like Brian and is in for a shock.

In a fast three days we learn more about Brian than in the previous four novels. I fell in love even more with Brian. I was rooting for him and Caitlyn. If anybody deserves love it’s Brian; will his college sweetheart fill the void that has been there since she disappeared? Author Iris Bolling also brings us back to the first novel with the child murders that were taking place in Roanoke Va. We get full details on the case at it continues today.

Once again Ms. Bolling has done it. She has brought her readers a compelling story and left me waiting on the next part. I am positive that if you enjoyed the first four novels you will enjoy this one and wait with baited breath for the next part. I pray Ms. Bolling doesn’t keep us waiting too long. Good Job on this one and I have not read a series yet that had kept me this interested until the “The Heart Series”

I've read this series back to back over the last few days, and this is definitely my least favorite of the bunch. It was just lacking something. I didn't feel any connection with Caitlyn like I did with the previous heroines. She was just always so vulnerable and really lacked any backbone so it was hard to relate to her. Brian is my favorite hero of them all because he was the protector of everyone, so it was nice to see him finally find his true love.

This book just had too much storytelling about the past. I found myself skipping over pages when the story reverted to the past. I think that is where a lot of the story was lost. I didn't think all the details relating to the past were pertinent because the same details were summarized during the present moments.

The entire gang was present in this book, but not as much as the previous books. This book really focused on Brian and Caitlyn's past. I really could have done without the extra characters except Colin, he was a joy to read about and I hope he makes an appearance in the last book. The whole kidnapping of Elliot saga was really reaching, and unnecessary. I was also disappointed that Turk did not make an appearance in this book at all. After his dramatic homecoming at the end of A Heart Divided The Heart Series I was sure we would see him somewhere in this book also.

I'm hoping the final chapter redeems itself for this book because I have really enjoyed this series.

Consistency should be a crime, well, at least for Iris Bolling it should...

As the fifth installment in The Heart Series, A Lost Heart does everything Bolling intended...and then some!

Bolling inserts her readers in the precise place the previous novel left off, with Brian recovering from being shot in the back. Brian was ready to return to his duties, protecting his lifelong friend and current Attorney General of Virginia, JD Harrison. Although Brian was known for being a ladies' man, he's more than meets the eye.

At the advisement of JD, Brian reluctantly visits, Nickelsville, Virginia for a potential return visit for his friend. Little did he know Nickelsville held information that would change his life forever.

In a word: Caitlyn.

Bolling has provided a hit after hit after hit with The Heart Series. The writing is fluid, concise and riveting. This particular novel is very fast-paced. Please...do not try to read this out of sequence, as you will be completely out of sync with the order of this written dynasty.

A movie this series could easily be made into...readers be on the lookout for this literary star.

Her name is Iris Bolling and comes highly recommended!

I really enjoyed reading about Brian in the other books...So I could not wait until Mrs. Boiling did a book centered around him...In this particular book...I felt the whole scene was totally off for Brian's character...I expected something a little more upbeat...not a small country hick town...That just didn't do it for me..i was a little bored at times with this book...but I got thru...because I did not want to miss anything in the series...I just wish Brian's story would of been a little better...In my opinion it was a little rushed...especially when Elliot was taken...I felt like it should of been more...something was missing....but to say this was my least favorite book...I do look forward to reading the last book in the Heart series...I rated the others 5 stars...but this one just could not get it...

Brian and Cailyn's story was a little harder to read than the others, because it dealt with child exploitation. I have a low tolerance for this kind of sickness, however as with the other stories Ms. Bolling did an excellent job of pulling the readers into the story. The gang is together again to put an end to corruption, while Brian reconnects with is his one and only lost love. There is not a dull moment in any the books in this series, however it is important to read them in order to truly get the flow. When these men fall they fall hard and for life, Brian is no exception. A Must Read.

First let me say that I am a fan of the author however, this was not a fan favorite. The story wasn’t horrible it was just blah. Now I don’t mean boring blah but more blah, blah, blah. More than likely, I shouldn’t have read the books back to back. Actually I skipped a few books because I was soooo anxious to read Brian’s story. Nonetheless, “A Lost Heart” is full of drama, suspense and romance. Now I should preface this review and say that I’m not a fan of drama and suspense or maybe it’s just suspense. Either way, I’m over this group of people. Therefore it just gets an “Okay” rating.

The 5th book in the Heart Series opens with Brian Thompson recovering from being wounded in the last installment of the Heart series. He has to remain on light duty and when its discovered a love he thought was long gone resurfaces, it becomes evident that no matter the time of seperation, love always wins! Come along on another journey to another happily ever after. I can hardly wait til the conclusion to see what Ms. Bolling has waiting. I am so enjoying this series! Love it!
