Intriguing insight into what it takes to be "tough". Some chapters were fantastic and really gave you a glimpse into how life's circumstances can lead to a need to be tough and how some people have that instinct and others don't. But, some chapters were a bit repetitive and hard to read or were just a list of names and not really any context into why they were there. Slow and difficult read at times, but worth sticking out as each chapter can be read completely independently of the rest of the book. Some very famous names and enjoyed learning more about their backgrounds and lesser known parts of their lives but it was not a gripping read for me.

Please don't waste your money or time on this illiterate account of (mostly UK-based) tough guys. Spoiler alert: you either are or aren't "hard".
