Leaders in all stages of life will find To Plant a Walnut Tree to be a guide for sharing wisdom in a practical way. Creating a legacy can be in the thoughts of twenty-somethings and soon-to-be retirees alike; author Trevor Waldock suggests that readers “plant walnut trees,” or sew small investments for future generations.
Many people are out there wondering what to do beyond a particular stage in their life where they feel they've become stagnant in progress. If you want to explore what lies beyond Leadership, then this is the book for you. How can you impact others and leave behind a legacy after death? What do you do when all the materialistic things in life (earning big bucks, shopping, going on vacations) which you once believed brought you happiness don't anymore? Read this book to find out where you need to be placing your feet next to get more out of life.
Three and a half stars. I was expecting a more literal discussion of how many calories walnut trees could provide for future generations, etc. Instead the title was figurative, and the content was mostly navel-gazing. Useful and worthy navel-gazing about leaving a legacy for the public good, however, with some valuable recommendations for interesting books to read.
