Kate McKinnon’s Sanctuary is an island of refuge in a western frontier shrouded in post-apocalyptic chaos. Her only escape from her crushing responsibilities is occasional radio contact with other pockets of survivors. Especially one man whose deep, raspy voice cuts through her exhaustion, straight to her heart. A man whose face she has only imagined.
When she and her ranch hands are surrounded by renegades, she doesn’t recognize the leader of the militaristic band that rescues them, but knows that voice.
Ty Bennett is already half in love with the human woman whose voice haunts his dreams. His impulsive offer to add muscle to the Sanctuary’s defenses is dangerous to them both. Helping her may redeem some of his sins, but proximity only increases his hunger to possess her—body, soul…and blood.
Without hesitation, she welcomes Ty and his men into the Sanctuary…only to discover the reason why they only ride at night. Yet the survival instinct that screams at her to drive them off is no match for Ty’s seductive powers. Or the need for protection from the threat that howls at Sanctuary’s gates.
Warning: Expect a dark, violent world where a vampire driven by uncontrollable lusts strikes a bargain with a strong woman willing to succumb to the carnal pleasures only a vampire can provide.

Devlin delivers another great romance. Combining Cowboys and paranormal. This tale is deliciously sexy. Strong heroine with an even stronger male that can handle her. The story is original which is hard in the paranormal world but with Devlins’ erotic writing expertise this one is a home run. Can’t wait for the next. Also you can’t beat the price, usually you get a too short of a story for this amount but Devlin delivers a dark wickedly sexy story for the price of a cup of coffee (the kind I drink anyway).
Ms Devlin is well known for her hot, sexy books and this one is no exception. She introduces the characters of a post- apocalyptic world not too far in the future. A strong no-nonsense heroine and a strong, sexy, very alpha hero with great secondary characters! The story takes place in Texas which is very cool (my home state)! Located in far southwest Texas, Fort Davis is a real nineteenth century fort and I really like that it is being used again to serve and protect in a new frontier. Undeniable is about rogue werewolves and vampires with suspense and hot, steamy romance. I look forward to the next book and hope this will be a nice long series. I also want to know what happens with Sam and the group left at Sanctuary! Highly recommended.
I thought this was a great start to a new series, with great world building. I really liked that Devlin didn't see the need to go into extreme detail about how the whole post-apocalyptic world came about, and instead put it really succinctly and matter-of-fact. It was more, this happened and the world is like this now, and I really appreciated that.
I loved Kate and her never-ending strength, but with her need to also be a woman, even though she did not really know what that meant. Ty definitely intrigued me, although I do not think we saw enough of him.
My major complaint was that the end was pretty abrupt. I would have liked for it to close out a little more. Otherwise, this was a book full of action and steam!
It’s the end of the world as we know it. In Delilah Devlin’s newest novella, Undeniable, darkness has taken over. Humans fight to survive; standing against werewolves waiting at their doors. Food is scarce and trust is something that has to be earned.
Kate McKinnon knows this all too well. Her ranch, Sanctuary, is exactly as the name implies; a haven for those who need protection from the werewolves that kill without hesitation. Unfortunately, supplies are dwindling and it won’t be long before all of those who turn to her are starving. Assistance is offered by Ty Bennett, a man she’s maintained radio contact with for years. After she’s placed into danger, she has no choice but to accept the bargain he offers. He’ll transport her people to safety, but he demands one thing in return – her.
Ty Bennett isn’t entirely human, and he knows eventually he’ll have to tell Kate his secret. Despite his promise to see the people under her care to safety, he also knows he can’t keep his hands off the woman he’s dreamed about for years. Although she welcomes his touch, his embrace, and everything he has to offer physically, it’s her blood he yearns for most.
Undeniable has an interesting premise involving werewolves, vampires, and the western frontier. The beginning of the story sets the tone. The heroine, Kate, is strong-willed and determined to protect those under her care. The threat is very real, with werewolves devouring livestock she protects and keeping the people under her roof on the brink of starvation. When Ty arrives to rescue her from an attack by renegades, their chemistry is off the charts. He wants her, she wants him, and it’s obvious. Usually this is a good thing in erotic romance, as a hero and heroine who don’t deny their attraction to each other heighten anticipation. In this case, however, the lack of character development causes the story to become less about romance, more about sex, and leaves a lot to be desired.
Due to the length of the work, the reader is left to question how Ty was made, where he truly comes from, how things work at his compound, and what will happen when he takes Kate to a better, safer place. The reader is quite literally dropped into the story, forced to accept the situation, and is left with a cliffhanger ending that leaves everything open to chance. That being said there are positive aspects to Undeniable. The heat between Kate and Ty is scorching. The intimate scenes between the two sizzle, and the flame doesn’t stop burning until the last page is turned. The world Ms. Devlin has created is fascinating and pulls the reader into the story quickly. With witty dialogue and a fast pace, erotic romance enthusiasts will soar through Undeniable in one sitting.
Fans of paranormal romance with a western flair and a lot of sexual intensity are sure to enjoy Undeniable. Although many things are not clarified in the first story, perhaps they will be revealed later in the series.
I like this new take on a post-apocolyptic world. Vampires, werewolves and cowboys. Yummy. This was short, I read it in about 90 minutes, but I read fast. I wanted more of story between Kate and Ty. I can believe she'd fall for him so fast, esp. with having talked to him for so long on the radio. I wasn't ready for the story to end. I want to know what happens next after they get together. The love scenes are hot--as to be expected with Ms. Devlin, so I wasn't disapointed there. I'm not yet vested in the other characters, so I really hope more is about them and others get fleshed out a bit more before they get their own books.
I realise this was written as a short fiction but I would much rather it had been longer. Not longer as in more of the same but filling in and prolonging what was already there.
The main characters were well drawn and there was a tangible feeling of threat in the background all the time.
The instant attraction between the protagonists is tempered with mystery and fear of the the unknown. It is well written and pacey but had the feel of jumping from one scene to another when most of the scenes would have benefited from being extended.
I like the concept of this story: It's the Wild West, but with pickup trucks and electricity. This post-Apocalyptic tale has cowboys, soldiers and vampires, which sounds like a lot of good stuff, but I felt like there was just something missing here. I honestly can't say what it was. Possibly it's just that the ending seemed a little abrupt, although it *is* #1 in a series and the end came at a logical point. Something just didn't seem right, but I can't put my finger on it.
My only complaint was that it was too short... but then that's not really a complaint, merely a lust for more! I knew the length of the story before I bought it, though I hope book 2 is longer.
Devlin has combined cowboys & vampires, making her my hero for that alone! The back story has the potential to be a really great series of books with a sideorder of hot-as-hell sex!
Ok now what....kind of left you hanging on what will happen next. How were they made, how many are at the compound....where is he really from. Is this a new series or standalone eeek tell me more please.
Very interesting characterization here. A few things developed a bit too quickly I think but that was probably the short length. I am very interested in seeing what comes next in this world. I mean humans, werewolves, and a sort of vampire...
The story was good, but since this is erotica, it was more sex than story. Why did I buy it? Impulse buy, I love post-apocalyptic. It’s a quick read, I think erotica fans will love it.
