This slim volume of 5 short stories is a delight! I usually don't even like short stories, and didn't realize this is aimed at a rather younger audience, but trusted Czerneda on sci fi, so I bought this some time ago. The stories cross age groups and grabbed me so strongly that when I wandered into Books & Books(local independent bookstore) yesterday I found myself picking up two more collections, by other authors/editors, only one in the sci fi; these two are aimed at adults. In thinking about it, sci fi short stories generally do appeal to me more than mainstream or other genres. I think I find them more thought provoking. Perhaps sci fi authors are more content to leave threads hanging (of necessity?). In any event, this is great fun. And it's illustrated!
