First published in 1995 and now available in paperback, an illustrated Formula 1 reference which provides information on the top teams, drivers, the great names, the most testing circuits and the rise and fall of the motor racing celebrities. With a foreword by British racing driver Damon Hill.
Interesting book, goes from 1950-1994. Telling the races, teams, legends, circuits, and other things like the fastest speeds, poles, wins, I enjoyed reading it.
I know there are a few editions of this book. The ones I’ve seen end with the 1994 ,1996 and 1997 season. Not sure if there are anymore than that but every new edition is just an update on the old, adding in a couple of new drivers, teams, tracks, and season information. It has some brief history about all those famous drivers, teams, tracks, etc from Formula One and other interesting details. The one thing that stood out for me was the F1 legends part with Mansell included but Piquet left in the regular drivers section. Haha! Clearly the writers had a bias there. There’s probably not much in it for those who have regular access to the Net and read quite a bit about Formula 1’s history but for others it’s an interesting look into the F1 world.
