This book turned out to be a life-saver when I was planning -- and enjoying! -- a cruise in Europe last year. Full of pictures, easy to follow maps, and one of the best help sections on what you need to know and pack when going on a cruise. Not to mention some very good hints on how to choose a cruise line.
Very brief overview of select cruise ports. Pulled this book to research itineraries we are considering for a cruise. Only about half of them are in this book. It provides a few pages of what to see at each port and not a whole lot more. No restaurant recommendations. It’s a good jumping off point, but not nearly in depth as the Fodors tour guides I’ve used in the past.
A good quick reference for the popular highlights of each port of call. Easier to flip through pages than clicking in an out of websites to compare ports.
As with any travel book it's there for reference after reading the main parts you bought it for in the first place. DK books are my favourites because of all the pictures and for highlighting the main attractions of each place without going into too much detail.
Dreaming of a future vacation. I learned that Civitavecchia (where ships dock) is 12 miles from Rome (easy to visit), but Le Havre is 112 miles from Paris (too far to go for a day excursion).
