Through Jenna's Eyes

Rate this book
As owner of a transportation company catering to the jet set, Logan O'Brien had reached a very comfortable cruising altitude in his business dealings. But his social life was another story--until he met his billionaire client's daughter. Jenna Fordyce seemed to be the kind of pampered princess he'd vowed to avoid, yet he just couldn't keep away from her.

For Jenna, Logan spelled trouble--he made her feel like a real woman, dangerously, thrillingly alive. But with her eyesight failing, she had to be extra careful of commitment. Did Logan really love her, or did he pity her? If only she could see inside this inveterate bachelor's heart and find out the truth...before her father put the brakes on their fledgling affair!

THROUGH JENNA’S EYES was an enjoyable read. Books with impending blindness, deafness, etc always fascinate me with how real the author makes the emotions. I’m always in awe of how not only the one effected deals with the condition, but the ones that love her/him as well.

Jenna Fordyce’s a strong character who was faced with her steadily declining eyesight since her teen years. Now, with just shapes visible, she’s dealing with the loss of her 3 ½ year old son, J.D., now with his father and forging her way with independence over her worried father.

Since Logan O’Brien got burned with deception from his ex-fiancé, he’s been going through women with no care. But when he gets a call concerning his client and business partner’s daughter, he finds himself facing feelings he’s not prepared for.

Jenna isn’t what he expected since she comes from money and he watches how she gets around without her sight, his respect goes even higher as she makes the best she can of life and doesn’t expect other’s pity.

Her father sees it before they do, but soon their spending time together and Logan gives Jenna the freedom she hasn’t felt in months. Logan’s shocked how she’s able to see him in a way no one has ever seen him before.

My fault comes in with her son. This plot just seemed unfitting and rough. Their unexpected visit raises the issue of her ex slowly pushing her out of their sons life. The news of him planning to file for complete custody doesn’t come as a shock to Jenna.

It does however launch her into a depression that pushes Logan away and makes her contemplate allowing her ex to have custody and take her name off the cornea transplant list.

After advice from his mom and a talk with her father, Logan is able to makes Jenna see the light again. With a proposal and a determination to fight for her, Logan gives her another chance at life.

3 months later, J.D. is living with them, her cornea transplant 9 weeks ago was a success and Jenna looks into her husband, of just hours, eyes and they plan for the future.

Mi libro favorito hasta el momento. Me ha gustado muchísimo, un libro súper dulce con uno de esos romances que juegan con tu corazón. Me hubiese gustado que fuera más larga, pero ha merecido la pena. Muy, muy bonita.

4 Stars! ~ Jenna Fordyce is beautiful, smart, sexy, and almost totally blind. She’s fought hard for her independence. But her divorce and her temporary separation from her three-year-old son, have left her feeling unworthy and anything but attractive. Her first attempt in months to have fun, has ended with an embarrassed trip on the sidewalk. Now she’s got a gash on her forehead and her driver thinks she’s drunk. Logan O’Brien isn’t looking for love or anything more than a casual fling and he’s definitely allergic to daughters of the rich and socially elite. He’s done well with his transportation service and is ready to expand the business to corporate jets; an expansion that relies heavily on Avery Fordyce’s financial backing. So when Logan is summoned to pick up Avery’s daughter at a popular nightclub, he pauses the end of the ballgame he’d been watching and prays the girl isn’t too drunk or he’d have a mess in the Hummer. One look at the socialite and Logan is groaning. She’s holding a cloth to her bloody forehead and is attempting to appear to be incognito behind huge sunglasses. Insisting that she have medical attention for the gash, Logan discovers the real reason for her dark glasses and uncertain footsteps. He’s intrigued and has trouble fighting his desire to kiss her. Jenna’s thrilled with the sexual sparks between them and decides that a weekend fling with Logan is just what her neglected libido needs. All she needs to do is convince Logan that a platonic friendship is not in the cards.

Apparently, I’m reading this book out of order, as there are two earlier books about the O’Brien siblings. Though this books stands totally on it’s own, the glimpses of the other siblings have me eager to read their stories too. This is a wonderful story of relationship growth. Logan comes to realize that he needs to be Jenna’s friend first and Jenna learns that independence doesn’t mean she has to give up love. The witty and wicked sense of humour given to these great characters builds the sexual tension to some very toasty temps. A very good read!

I'm sorry to say that I found this book boring and run-of-the-mill.

I liked the premise, but the story was just so predictable and kind of ableist (it's a thing. Look it up if unfamiliar with the term). :( Why couldn't Jenna gain custody of her son with her eyesight failing? And Logan, who fell in love with her as a severely visually impaired woman, would stand by her no matter what.

I just think the book would have been better, as well as more romantic, had Jenna not had the transplant-

I skimmed through this; I felt like there was just too much happening and I didn't buy into Jenna not being able to raise her child because she was blind (especially when it was made clear she could afford help). I also thought the pacing was slow; the hero was still saying they were friend until the last quarter.
