At the start, there needs to be more consistency in when "Poplar Island" and "Poplar Islands" is used. I was very confused when they seemed to be use interchangeably. It is explained later on why it is sometimes singular and sometimes plural.
For the book itself, it wasn't what I expected when I picked it up. I expected more history of the island and the Bay. I guess, looking back, really all of the history of the island was included. Geologically, it has a long history. But for people, it's pretty short. Only a few owners. There were some chapters which didn't seem useful, but mostly all the chapters described life on the island.
