Alec Caldwell has everything going for him. He’s young, successful, and reasonably handsome with a body he’s happy with but there’s one thing that plays on his mind. Alec is still a virgin. At twenty-four Alec sees it as a problem. He’s had plenty of opportunities but never followed through and the longer he leaves it, the harder it is to step over the threshold into manhood. Almost as embarrassing as his virgin status is the crush he has on his boss, Rick Hamilton. Not a day seems to go by without Hamilton catching Alec staring or drooling. If only Alec could find the courage to say something.
When Alec is called into Hamilton’s office after the latest incidence of ogling he thinks he’s going to be transferred. Instead he’s offered the chance of a lifetime – to be Hamilton’s personal sex toy at work. A whole new world unfurls as Alec is inducted into the exclusive Order of Gentleman that weaves through the rich and powerful corporate institutions of The City and beyond.

A curious mix of everything (fountains of cum, unrealistic, dull PWP) that's not my cup of tea.
Although it must be kind of interesting to have THIS conversation with your boss:
Boss: "You've never been taken before?" Employee: "No, sir." (...) Boss: "You've never had anal sex?" Employee: "I've never had any kind of sex full stop, sir." Boss: "I'm sorry, Alec, are you telling me you're a virgin? As in, a God's honest truth, pure as the driven snow, kind of virgin?"
I wish my performance reviews were that entertaining.
This is an unusual read. The author seems to be using the long-established English literary format of the sexually titillating serial adventure, in order to play with the tropes of gay literotica. At times it's hilarious: like a cross between a m/m Moll Flanders and a porn version of Neighbours (Aussie soap) - it's hard to keep track of who's fucking whom, and who is in love with whom (often not the same people). I often felt completely exhausted just reading about the sex, and, much like reading de Sade, thanks to the phenomenon of semantic satiation, the word "fucked" soon seemed to lose all meaning. In parts the story is just a Nifty-style free-for-all m/m/m/m/m/m fuck-fest, and then in other parts it's sad and poignant, as the MC realises that moments of emotional completion and climax are, inevitably, hollow and meaningless, relationships with multiple partners are not bringing him any deep satisfaction, and that his plans for happy-ever-after will never, ever, come to fruition. A toss up for saddest part . I'd call it gay erotica, not m/m romance, except that it's really subverting the easy and mindless quick-gay-fuck free fiction stereotype. I recommend it as a thoughtful read, rather than a pleasurable escapist fantasy, but you could certainly use it just as a one-handed read, as long as you don't want a HEA.
Fantasy and finance collide in this elitest BDSM tale of one man, Alec, who goes from frustrated virgin to his boss's beloved sex kitten. An old boys' club keeps him moving up the ladder while his relationship with Hamilton just keeps getting deeper and more complicated as Alec grows and attains more responsibilities. What'll happen when he's not under Hamilton's thumb?
Alec, a 24-year-old virgin and his life changes at work one day when he is called into Rick Hamilton, his boss' office. Alec has been crushing on Rick since he joined the department. After several questions, Alec finds himself bent over with his pants around his ankles.
Alec and Rick work for a global firm that has a shadowy, secretive old boy's BDSM club behind it and Rick is training Alec as an office boy, along with investment advice, their clients get serviced. You have to suspend belief for this to work but it certainly worked for me.
Rick falls hard for Alec and Alec becomes his special boy. The sexin' doesn't stop and this first volume is really about Alec learning about his sexuality. Rick and Alec's relationship is complicated and gets more complicated as time goes on.
F*cking and s*cking and f*cking and s*cking. When I was about the middle of this story, I gave up because this was just s*cking and f*cking. Usually I don't like sex scenes. The more you read them, the more they feel the same. That is pretty rare that an author is so good describing them that they seem different, more sensual, more truly exciting. Casey Cox is not a so good author to make the sex scenes exceptional enough for me to read hundreds pages of them.
I really enjoyed Be My Boy from this author so when a recent challenge had me needing to read an unpublished work I chose this one. I liked it. It reminded me very much of a soap opera in book form - lots of who's doing who. This goes firmly to fantasy land on account of so much unprotected sex - particularly oral - would more than likely leave most of these guys with an assortment of STD's. I'm not normally a stickler on protection in fiction but here it just kept slapping me in the face repeatedly due to everybody fucking everybody continuously.
The basic story - an Order of Gentlemen - is pretty interesting. The relationships were anything but simple and yet at times the most simple..figure that one out. The push pull of Hamilton and Alec anchored it but there were many other players all with their own unique self in spite of the happenings inside the story.
Different - certainly not like anything I've read before!
I tried to get through this but something kept halting my reading. I don't mind dom/sub stories and thoroughly enjoyed Cox in her Be My Boy novella; however, this one was just lost on me. Granted, I was not capable of finishing so I cannot speak for the entire work, but it felt, in a word, depressing. The relationship seemed lopsided to me and the dom was too self-centered. Of course, this is all in my opinion so do not allow this to discourage anyone's curiosity. I have liked other works by the author. On a positive note, this made me discover I am perhaps more vanilla than I thought(putting aside the fact that I am lactose-intolerant).
I did it, really, I finished this book. Go me! That's the only positive thing about this. But I honestly can say - I won't try to read the other two books, sorry. They move directly to the basement-storage.
3.5 stars. Sexy free-online read with multiple, multiple, MULTIPLE partners. I probably could have used one less multiple, but the story is very asboring.
Very, VERY sexy book, action that grabs you from the first page and keeps you ramped all the way through. A twist I didnt see coming either. Whew, hot stuff!
Sorry, this one is in German. It says, that I liked the Story very much ;)
Inhalt:
I think this is more of 3.5 stars, rounded up. I was really liking this book until it took a turn that was coming but happens way too soon in my opinion.
So a virgin Alec is stealing glances at his boss. Hamilton his boss notices and wants to introduce Alec into the Order of Gentlemen, as a work boy. When Alec tells Hamilton he is a virgin, Hamilton takes Alec home with him. Showing him his life and his house boys. Hamilton doesn't want Alec as just a work boy or house boy he wants Alec as his lover. Hamilton collars Alec as his. No one will have him but Hamilton.
Hamilton giving Sebastian to Alec seamed quick. After reading about Hamiltons house boys and seeing them in action, Alec doesn't come close to keeping Sebastian in the same set. as a Master of Sebastian, still being collard to Hamilton is messy.
There's a whole lot of loving (90% at least) and just enough emotion between the characters that you want to read more to see what happens. :)
This book was slow in starting for me, and I don't mean the sex. It got better for me towards the end, but then Alec went and forgave Tom and Hamilton too easily. The rest of my hang ups about this book are personal. Things happened pretty quickly between Alec and Hamilton, and they said I love you but then discussed that they would continue to sleep around. Polyamorous stories are very hard for me because while I understand it's fiction, I can't always remove myself from the equation. Like I can't separate my feelings and how I think the characters should feel and it doesn't matter that I'm not ok with these things, it really only matters that the characters are ok with them. All of that being said... I will finish this series. I do want to know what happens with all of these characters, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Alec and Hamilton get their crap together. I'm also hoping they keep Sebastian (love him!).
For some reason I can't really put my finger on, I absolutely enjoyed the story of Alec and his many sexual adventures. They are varied and not many pages in between. In Casey's own words: a soap opera of erotica.
This isn't a story I would recommend for everyone, but if you like your smut without any rules holding it back, and don't mind your men extremely kinky this might be your cup of tea. It surprisingly seem to be just my kind of flavor.
And I kind of lost a little piece of my heart to the adorable slaveboy Sebastian :)
Wow. I don't usually read stories like this (for various reasons), but I just couldn't put this one down. Can't wait to get started on Volume Two.
Re: Second read. I enjoyed the story a lot more the second time around, partly because I knew what was coming. I think I may have gotten so excited I was speed-reading the first time out, so it was nice to go back and look over those details I forgot or didn't notice the first time I read it.
Pretty much just porn with slave/master and some light BDSM thrown in. I liked Hamilton and Alec both although sometimes Alec was clueless. This was a great, fun and hot read for a relaxing afternoon. I doubt the rest of the series will be much different other than the names but this one was a worthwhile diversion.
Storyline Alec Caldwell has been crushing on his boss, Rick Hamilton for quite a while and fears he's about to lose his job when he's called into the boss's office after being caught staring at Mr. Hamilton one time too many. What he's offered is the opportunity to serve as one of Mr. Hamilton's "office boys". Basically a rentboy. Then Mr. Hamilton takes it one step further and takes Alec home with him and offers him a position as one of his many lovers.
Conflict Not a lot of conflict. Some minor bumps in the road when Alec is accosted by a colleague of Hamilton's who believes that Alec should deliver more than what's been offered in the past.
My Thoughts I'm not going to rate because I read this for a challenge. Don't be thinking this is a romance. It's not. It's straight up PWP. Hamilton is a tool. He claims to love Alec but refuses to give up his lifestyle to be faithful or to want Alec to be faithful to him unless it involves Alec's ass. Very little goes on to develop any story or character development. It's pretty much non-stop fucking from start to finish.
I need a break from reading this and will pick it up again in a few days. My thoughts so far- I love reading PWP and BDSM but the sex is practically non-stop and it would have been nice if there were more breaks with some character development. So far the main characters seem two dimensional and I can't figure out how they 'fell in love.' I don't get any idea what it is about Alec or Hamilton that makes them loveable or love each other. The one thing I get is that Hamilton seems incredibly self-centered. Also, I don't remember the pair having a discussion about using a safe word or gesture. Even if they decided not to use one, it would have been a good idea at least to bring up the topic in the story. I actually like some of the side characters more because even though they are seen less often, how they are written gives me a better picture of who they are. I'm referring to Dicky, Tom and Sebastian. Oh, and 'your' does not equal 'you're.' I'm almost ready to tear my eyeballs out because of the same repetitive mistake. Please fix!
I'm reading porn. Not erotica, but porn. And I don't like porn unless it's video or comicbook so I DNF at 47%. Sorry.
If only there's an actual plot, actual romance or actual STORY, I'd definitely read it. Because I'm open to all kinds of romance, so gay erotica is cool to me. But this book is a major disappointment. Again, I'm so sorry.
Alec's in love with his boss but apparently his boss, Hamilton, is having a kink where he ended up tossing Alec around his colleague and Alec's okay with it. I was like, okaaaaaay then I went, what the ever loving fuck?
I probably should bump up to a 4, because it is exactly what it promises, but I'm not. 90%+ is sex. There is just enough story to keep you reading. I kept thinking the end was going to have more story wise. It did...but it kinda fell apart for me there. I don't think Alec knows himself at this point. The end, instead of pulling it together, left it more frayed than before. But then...it is the first book in a series, so maybe there is a reason for it.
Too many turn off elements for me: - abuse of power in workplace, - sex for money, - sluts, - a virgin turned a confident sex machine overnight. I tried to tell myself it's an erotic fantasy - it didn't work. I read and felt sick and dirty; stopped after 20% of story.
I honestly can't decide if I liked it or not. The constant sex for money/work, for his Master, yet the Master is in love with Alec; I can't pin down how I feel about it. I am going to start on book 2 and see how it goes...
