Bernard Most is an author of children's books, especially books about dinosaurs. He lives in Westchester County, New York with his wife, two cats, and many fish.
This talks about a boy named Anthony who found ANT in his name and wanted to find other words that also had ANT in them. This book is great for early literacy because it makes students think about the words that are on the page and not only that but the ones that are in ANT were in red instead of the regular black color. This would make a great read-aloud or a small group activity. Author: Bernard Most Illustrator: Bernard Most Publisher: HarperCollins May 22, 1992
This book is engaging and creative. It is definitely easily turned into a whole class read that is easily prompted to question kids, make them think and even take guesses within reason. I like that ant is dilated in red, and that it really helps kids see how words are built. Plus there is a bit of humor that kids really enjoy.
I think that this book could be very useful to English teachers teaching 3rd to 5th grade because of the little boy finding the word ant in other words, I think this could make it fun for other kids to read and just help them reganize that ant is in other words to.
This was a fun book to read, and I think younger kids would really enjoy it. It is interactive as well, as it points out all the different words you can find "ant" in. I think children would enjoy finding the words in a read-aloud.
This is a great book for visuals and observational learners. Anthony looks around his surroundings and other places for for the “ANT”. Many lessons can be correlated with this book with other words that have words within.
I enjoyed the way the author found words with "ant" in them and used them well. This is a great book for beginning readers or children just starting to recognize how letters fit into words.
