The topic is an important one, but the conversations used as guides are just awful. I am not exactly sure how school districts using this as a model to help bridge achievement gaps or affect cultural literacy can be successful following this model. It never really delves into true controversy, which I believe would make it much more worthwhile. It's like reading the script to an educational First Aid video.

Read for my masters. I thought it did an ok job with the topic. The supplemental readings we did were much better.
