I heard this author perform in a concert and she is a beautiful flutist. When I read in the program that she was also an author, I searched for her books. The main character is this story is a flutist who is struggling to deal with her life and finding the answers to her past. The story is written with insight and sensitivity and tells the story beautifully. The author, Eugenia Zukerman is a gifted artist, both as a musician and writer.

After reading this, I can't say enough about the insightful brilliance of Eugenia Zuckerman's work. She writes within a unique niche of presenting a life of a musical genius and presenting the hell and heaven of being such a gifted artist. I loved Deceptive Cadence, and this heartbreaking, fictional soliloquy to love, loss, and healing opened my mind to forgiveness, love, and trust. It was an amazing ride.
