This is a very interesting book. It starts off when a detective is called to a crime scene where a young man’s body was found in a supermarket’s parking lot. The body was cut up into pieces it was more pieces than a puzzle. Mike Yeading (the detective) and other members of his team find out that the young man was a very nasty man, and lots of family members where hurt by this man. Perfect excuses to possibly be the cause of his death. Read this book and find out who the actual killer is. You just may be surprised.
This is the first Curzon I've read, and it looks like I've got some catching up to do! This was a very tightly plotted, economical novel in the "locked-room mystery" style--few likely suspects and no motive. Who would kill the Blue-Eyed Boy? Seems like there were lots of candidates. And the culprit and the aftermath really add up nicely.
The characters are well drawn, allowing me to pick this up at #6, rather than #1 in the series, as I prefer. I look forward to reading as many as I can find. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of these in the library, due to their age. Nevertheless, the hunt will be worth it.
This book was easier to follow than the previous one, but I am still not loving the characters. They do not come alive for me. I am not giving up just yet though.
