This new edition integrates recent advances in teaching and learning. These include visualisation, technology integration, group projects, and technical writing. Systems of differential equations and their applications are presented earlier than in previous editions. This edition consists of the main text plus three additional chapters.
Okay I admit I had a really good professor for this class. But even so I think this was an excellent book. Very easy to sit down with and work through.
This was a decent introductory text. I does seem quite brief.
There is one thing I was not a fan of: A lot of interesting results/functions/lemmas/etc. are buried in problems. This is useful and fine to an extent, but I thought they overdid it here: a lot of material could have been developed in the text. Keeping these 'extra' pieces in problems is no doubt one reason the book is thinner than others I've seen.
