There are some tips and tricks, the process of painting shown step-by-step, but if you think you can just follow it and produce the same or even similar effect, you may be in for an unpleasant surprise. The steps shown are few and far between, and the magic ingredient is the meticulous, time-consuming attention to detail that fills most of that between. So if you're looking for help, you might want to look somewhere else. But if you're looking for inspiration - this can be a pretty good resource.
All in all, a good reference that can double as a coffee table book as it includes a nice selection of well-reproduced paintings by one of the most important watercolor artists of our day.
This was a really good book for beginners who are a, looking to make photo-realistic watercolors and b, want them to be of professional standards. Some good tips here for people who are just getting started.
Although you don't see the artist actually painting, you do see the results after each step and have the process described by the artist. Several paintings are done step by step this way. As a beginner, I found this valuable. Warren is very much into details and does beautiful work. The details are daunting but worth striving for in my own painting.
