Das Vorwort ist recht unspektakulär, aber informativ. Die Idee, Fotos Dublins und anderer Joyce-Orte in Irland mit Zitaten aus Joyce Werken zu versehen, ist sehr gut. Allerdings stammen die Fotos aus den 90ern und wirken entsprechend angestaubt – gleichsam aber nicht historisch genug, um zur Joyce-Atmosphäre zu passen.

Nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht begeisternd.
