Very much a textbook/resource style book, but information that has long since been forgotten or taught in mainstream society. Real information, tested scientifically, that can help us become much healthier and disease resistant if incorporated into our lives.

Great thorough information. Text book style. This is very helpful in conjunction with other books to round out important aspects of the herbs you are studying.

Only one frustration is that the glossary is incomplete. For example, just to list a few aromatic, antiviral, and adaptogen are missing, and due to the nature of the glossary they should have been included. Also, under Alterative it says, "See blood purifier," however, blood purifier is not listed in the glossary.

I wrote this a few minutes, ago for a dear friend. I hope my thoughts are useful to U.

My first book on herbology was Back To Eden by Jethro Kloss. My BabySon, Michael was 3 months old when this book showed up. He got asthma & was given 3 shots of adrenalin to bring him thru.

A kind neighbor thought this book might help. It did!

I learned to make soybean milk for him & how to keep our little family safe with herbs & other nutritionals.

If U decide to check it out, find "yellow dock" in the table of contents. Read some of the old-time thinking about its benefits.

Finally, scientific methods of the 20th century are covered in Nutritional Herbology by Dr. Mark Pedersen. His book reviews beliefs of past herbalists & adapts scientific methods to distill the facts of herbal remedies. Various herbal properties; their efficacies, along with cautions & instructions are included in this treatise.

I hope U enjoy both books!

Dr.Pedersen is a fellow graduate of Trinity School of Natural Health. His book is used as a textbook in the Naturopathic Doctor program for Trinity. I found this book to be an excellent source of information, well written and will undoubtedly be a major resource in my own practice.
