Jenny Holzer’s work as a feminist artist has always intrigued me. This collection brings together a lot of different forms of her writing in one place. With a few photos of her installation or public art work embedded throughout the book the real magic is in the poetic approach of Truisms or Essays that once showed up on electric ticker signs or on the streets of NYC as posters respectively. A good food for thought on how words themselves can be art, the process through which we share them is art, and provocation is too an artform.
