Sex University #1

Physical Education

Tired of boring sex and wanting to expand her pleasure, 24-year-old Amanda "Mandi" Wilkinson enrolls in summer school at San Francisco Sex University, an exclusive sex school located in the heart of San Francisco. What Mandi doesn't realize is that not all of the mysterious dropouts are simply flunking sex-ed.

Reed McAllister came to Sex U. for reasons all his own. Undercover, he's searching for a woman, the right woman, and so far he doesn't have any leads. Reed never saw himself working at a place such as SFSU, let alone instructing, but he had to admit it - the job did come with its perks. When Mandi turns up on the missing list, will Reed be able to save her and give her the lessons she so desires?

I realize that a lack of comprehension of the English language and disregard for grammar is now considered a writing trend. I will always disagree. Having an interesting story is good, having the ability to communicate that story in a way that draws people into your world and causes everything else to fade is a result of understanding the language you are writing in. And even that is not enough, as the editing process can make or break even a great writer.

After finishing this story, I've decided to be charitable and consider that it was written in a foreign language, put into Google translator and then sent off to be published without a single person looking at it.

Not only are words missing, words are randomly inserted that have no connection to the sentence they are in. Sentence structure doesn't exist, and the narrative is like trying to follow a three-man ping pong game. You never know where it is or what will show up next.

The characters are one-dimensional cliche's with dialog that is best overlooked. And with no motivation to like or understand the individuals we are being asked to follow, there is no reason to care what happens to them.

On the plus side, the story concept is interesting as it concerns an educational facility for understanding and improving sexual performance. Something I wish a few of my ex's had attempted. With a better grasp of the language and an editor, I believe Ms. Bacio could have had an enjoyable and entertaining book.

While I won't be reading any further books in the Sex University series I am willing to try other books by Louisa Bacio and hope that this is just an anomaly.

I do not post an Amazon review if I have given less than 3 stars.
