Minerva Clark Gives Up the Ghost is the name of my book, the author is Karen Karbo. This story is about a girl named Minerva Clark and her mom comes back with a new fiance, after they get back she went through a change after she got shocked by lightning. She wasn't the only one to go through a change though, Angus Paine went through almost the same thing. Later on Minerva got blamed for a fire at her school, even though she didn't do it Angus did and tried blaming her for it.

The author later on makes Minerva meet Angus, who has many different sides to him sometimes he can be really nice and sweet, other time he can be a jerk or a flirt monster. Sometimes Minerva wishes Angus was her boyfriend, "Sad because id grown to wish Angus was my boyfriend", but later on he tries to get Minerva in trouble for a fire at her school that she didn't do.

I recommend this book to you because its interesting, and it puts you in Minerva's point of view. It was a little predictable in some parts but most of the book isn't predictable, like when Angus moves closer to Minerva you can tell that something is going to happen between them. My favorite part of the book is when Minerva is accused of the fire at the school and she tries to figure out who is accusing her of it. The authors style is very unique about how she says stuff and what the people do and say, she puts you in Minerva's Point Of View and how she feels about everything that happens to her or the people around her.

Minerva Clark gives up the ghost, the book is about a odd boy named Angus Pine to find the arsonist who burned down his family's grocery store killing a person in the process. Things get stronger when it turns out the store is haunted. Minerva’s mom came back to town with her new husband, and now is determined to spend time with all the kids.

In the book things are so intense, at the end of the book Angus Pine whose name is actually named Caleb goes to the wedding reception goes for Minerva grabs her forearm and pushes her against a wall and is holding her neck and asks her and then Kevin, Minerva’s boyfriend comes out and grabs him off of her and and starts beating him.

I would recommend this book if you like drama and mysteries and a little bit of romance. Minerva is all about mysteries and most of the time all the drama is about boys, and it’s hardly and drama but there’s still drama. The romance and drama comes in when Angus kisses Minerva when she’s dating Kiven.

In the beginnig Minerva Clark's yoga instructor mom comes to town with her new fiancé, as if that wasn't bad enough. Well at least she wasn't gonna have to hang out with her mom all the time, because this guy Kevin that she's liked for a really long time asked her out. There was a problem with that though. In the middle she meets a new guy, he's kinda creepy though. He has a mystery he wants her to help him with, Minerva has been solving mysterys and crimes for a while. It was about a supernatural being that lived in their freezer, and it didn't really bug them till now. In the end she has a lot of drama with her new boyfriend Kevin. It's like her cared about video games and friends more than her. Most the time she's with Angus, the guy with the ghost mystery, and he really likes her and how much he likes her kinda makes her feel special. She knew Kevin would keep blowing her off , so she broke up with him and slowly started a relationship with Angus.

I only gave it three stars was because, I felt it went off topic a lot. She would spends most her time with Kevin and Angus instead of the ghost. So she barely even cares about the ghost and what it's doing. It does say she gives up the ghost, but I'm talking about the way she does it I dont like. It was mostly the plot that lost three stars, it confused me a lot. Other wise it was ok, I enjoyed some parts. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a boyfriend/girlfriend drama story, because its mostly about that. It's really cool and suspenseful, you kinda get interested in the relationship. I think lots of people should read it, and see how they like it. It's a good book and I'm sure lots of people enjoy it, it's the kind of book you give a chance and like it.

From the very first Minerva Clark book, I've been hooked. She's a bit bratty, and completely thirteen (minus the self esteem issues, of course). Normally thirteen year olds drive me insane, but this one is funny, sympathetic and oh so real. Her family dynamic is just as important to the books as her crime solving and there is NEVER a dull moment. [return][return]If you never listen to another word I say, listen to this:[return][return]If you like young adult fiction, read any of the Minerva Clark books. Probably should start at the beginning, though, with Minerva Clark Gets a Clue.

The best of the books so far. Minerva, despite having perfect self-esteem thanks to an electrical shock, finds herself completely unnerved by her estranged mother's return home with her long-haired, yoga instructor husband in tow. Added to that, her new boyfriend seems distant while a boy she's just met is flirting with her non-stop. What's a girl to do? Solve a case of arson, of course! The brothers, Mark Clark, Quills, and Morgan the Vegetarian, are also in fine form here.

3 and a half stars. Lily and I read this one aloud after we enjoyed the second book in the series together. We liked the plucky Minerva Clark, the Portland setting, and the plotline about Minerva having to deal with her mother getting married to a laid-back yoga guy. The mystery itself, however, wasn't the greatest for us. Still, though, a fun series to recommend to tweens who like mysteries.

Why? Why was this published in 2007 and there has been no trouble had from Minerva since? So uncool dude. Anyways, quick read. This one was a little more predictable, but I do watch an unusual amount of cop shows and as Minerva's brother said "the one who smelt it dealt it". But why people!? It's just like anime! One season and it's over! Rude, I say! Just rude.

Third in the Minerva Clark mystery series for approximately grades 6-8. I liked this one as much as I did the first two. The thirteen-year-old heroine has already established a reputation as an amateur sleuth in Portland. Interesting characters, humor, action.
