I got this book from a friend of my parents as a child. The stories stuck in my head and I loved it. It's a fun to read book. It can get a little preachy but mostly it's just filled with morals and such. The Fishy Bank for Jesus, and the Nothing-Impossible Possum are still in my head today.
I enjoyed this book and its nursery rhymes. Today not many people are familiarized with them and they are starting to die out. This would be a great tool to refamiliarize and pass the rhymes onto the younger generation. While reading, I also liked the illustrations throughout the book. They were whimsical and had great detail and color.
My grandmother gave me this book when I was too young to remember receiving it. I remember it was one of my favorite books when I was little. I read it over and over and over.My favorites were the stories of the characters living in Dandelion Sea, which I'm not sure are adaptations of the original Mother Goose rhymes. Still, many of the rhymes are unfamiliar, but there are many familiar ones as well, such as "Mary Had A Little Lamb," and "Hickory, Dickory, Dock." The black-and-white, and color illustrations on each page are delightful as well. I'm not child anymore, & I don't have kids of my own, but this book is so full of treasured memories of reading that I'll never give it away.
