An old favorite.

A collection of short science fantasy stories. Some are kind of steam punk. The city destroyed by hubris and electricity is a classic. Almost like Jules Verne.

A strange little anthology of late 19th century science fiction that I found on Gutenberg.org. The most notable thing about it is the name of the fictional newspaper in the title story: It's called "The Daily Planet!"
