His suffering….

Though proud and strong, Eirik, heir to the Ulfhednars kingdom, found himself seduced and taken from his homeworld by a bounty-hunting vixen, who sold him into slavery. Purchased by a wealthy, Consortium-backed brothel, he is kept at a heavily guarded and secure breeding facility, where he is forced to feed the lustful whims of Helios’s elite at night. He bides his time, waiting for a chance to escape and get his revenge on the woman who betrayed him…

Her satisfaction…

Once a sex thrall, Fatin earned her freedom through service. Now, as a bounty hunter, she is determined to earn enough to buy her sister’s papers from the same brothel she escaped. For this, she abducts a brutishly handsome, breed-worthy specimen from the Viking planet and delivers him to auction. But her desire for justice and his desire for freedom may consume both of them in a passion neither wanted—or can resist.

Enslaved by a Viking, New Icelandic Chronicles #2, by Delilah Devlin
Grade: D+

“I wish I didn’t have such a spotted past.” “I don’t hold it against you. I’m not exactly pure either.”

Fatin is an ex-sex slave turned bounty hunter who is determined to do whatever it takes to win her sister’s freedom from her former mistress, Aliyah. Aliyah has promised to release Zarah, Fatin’s sister, but only if Fatin can successfully capture twenty Vikings to be used for breeding and her brothel. Fatin does capture the Vikings from their home planet and fulfills her part of the bargain but Aliyah does not. Fatin soon discovers that her one hope could be the leader of the Vikings. Eirik, may be her only hope to save her sister but Eirik is now a sex slave in Aliyah’s brothel and Fatin is the one who helped take away this proud man’s freedom.
Eirik is the heir to the Viking Ulfhednar kingdom and has always lived a very privileged life but all that changes when he is captured and sold into a brothel. Eirik knows the bounty hunter who captured him and has vowed for revenged against her but for some reason he can’t stop thinking about her and the powerful sex they shared. Fatin swears she wants to help Eirik and his men escape but Eirik is not sure he can trust her especially when Fatin might have to choose between her sister and the Viking she is fall in love with.
This book has everything a romance reader could want: sexy, alpha male vikings, a strong heroine and some steamy sex scenes but unfortunately, even with these things this book is not every good. There is a lot going on in this book and it would help to read the first book in the series but it is not necessary to understand what is going on. The beginning of the book is packed with A LOT of sex, almost too much sex fro my taste and sadly most of the sex is not between the main characters but with Eirik and other women. I am not a big fan of books like this and while I understand this book is an erotic romance, I like my erotica to be between the main characters and not the leads with other people.
I liked Fatin and Eirik a lot just not as a couple. I found it very hard to believe that Eirik would just forgive Fatin for making him a sex slave and trust her to help him and his men escape. Eirik is a prince in a very male dominated kingdom and he has never been anything close to a slave. He is such a strong warrior that I can’t imagine he would be okay with not only being captured by a woman but being sold into slavery by a woman and then forgiving her. It’s just not believable at all. I liked Fatin a lot and I wanted her to have a HEA but I just didn’t think it should be with Eirik.
I mentioned it before but I had a very hard time with the fact that Eirik has a lot of sex with women who are not Fatin including a threesome with her sister. I almost put this book down at this point and was very relieved to discover that they didn’t actually hard sex just did enough to trick the person who paid for them both. At one point it is said that “he plowed through dozens of women that night” and this is the same night that he has sex with Fatin. I understand he’s a sex slave and has no choice but I had a big issue with it and it turned me off and made me not want fatin or Eirik to be together.
Maybe I’m just a prude but I really didn’t enjoy this book. I like erotica and love smut but I like it between the main characters. I have no problem reading about the main couple bringing in other partners but I do have a problem with one of the characters having sex without the other main character. I really wanted to enjoy this book but I just couldn’t not matter how hard I tried. I liked the side characters and Fatin but that was not enough and I really wanted more to be able to believe in Eirik and Fatin as a couple. Sadly I will not be reading any more of this series.

Eirik and Fatin 3.5 stars

Enslaved by a Viking is one of those books that you do not read in public. If you do, you are doomed to sit there with a flaming red face and giggle every 3 minutes or so. It is an erotic fantasy book that makes no apologies for what it is! This book was my first experience with Delilah Devlin and I can easily say that I know what I would be getting into if I were to read future books from her.

Eirik, the heir to his kingdom, is kidnapped by Fatin. Fatin is a sex thrall turned bounty hunter trying to earn freedom for her and her sister. Her sister is currently under the control of the whore-mistress (that is really her name; I swear I didn’t make that up). Fatin agrees kidnap a group of men to be brought back to their planet and used for breeding purposes. The men of their home planet are not as virile and cannot reproduce like needed to continue the race. The group of kidnapped must suffer through daily milkings (yes, that is what they call it!) and orgies to try and impregnate the women of the planet.

I know what I wrote just now sounds kind of silly but there was an actual plot going in this book too. Eirik’s brother has sent a group of warriors, including his betrothed, to rescue him. Fatin is trying to free her sister. The men are trying to get their hands on Fatin to hurt her for their capture. And finally Eirik, while fighting the attraction, is still trying to save Fatin and hook up with her.

Enslaved by a Viking has every type of smex you could possibly want. In every form, in every way, in every shape and in every type. I must stress highly that this is erotica. While there is a happy ending, do not expect the normal fidelity you see in a romance book. The men are held captive to be used as breeders and that doesn’t exclude Eirik, our hero, from being used by a lot of women. A lot.

Final grade would be an A+ for the smexin’ and C- for the plot so probably a B- overall.

Favorite quote:

Then she stepped toward him and kissed his forehead and his eyes as the slid shut, then his mouth. “Take this with you, Viking. Into the ring. I love you.”

His eyes opened. His gaze bored into hers.

She gave him a one-sided smile. “Yeah, it’s possible. Even for a whore and a bounty hunter. I have a heart. And it’s yours.”

I did like this book and may have liked it more than I did had I not read this 2 book series back to back.

This book was loaded with scorching hot Viking sex. That was the problem for me, I really did not feel the love. This story really did not draw much emotion out of me at all. I liked the hero much better than the heroine. Not much else I have to say about this book.

Enslaved by a Viking is the second book in the new series written by Delilah Devlin. It continues on from where the first – Ravished by a Viking left off and believe me, I was glad that I had the second and was able to continue the story straight away so that I could find out what happened to the characters and how the story developed as I was so invested in all of them.
In book two, Ms. Devlin continues to build the new world for the reader. This time we move away from the Viking’s cold and dangerous home where they mine for the Consortium, to the planet Helios. To recap, Eirik, Dagr’s brother and the heir to the Wolfskin clan, was visiting the mines when he was kidnapped by a bounty hunter who promptly sold him into slavery, but all is not as it seems. Book one focuses on Dagr and his search for Eirik and also finding his HEA. The continuation of the saga, and it is one, reveals determination of mind, body and soul, love, hate, adventure, passion, danger, loss and revelations of the heart, soul and mind.
In this second installment, the Vikings again rebel against their captors, but it is more than that – it is a fight against racism, against tyranny and against slavery. More is revealed in this book about why the Vikings were captured, who captured them and why. Fatin is a former sex slave/thrall now working as a bounty hunter to try to earn her sister’s freedom. Eirik may have hated her to begin with, especially after the indignities he and the other captives go through once they have arrived on Helios, but what emotions does he really feel for her? Does he, can he love her? Can Fatin redeem herself in Eiriks eyes, in the eyes of her sister and also in the eyes of the other captives, or is she also going to become a victim?
This story reveals much more about the results of genetic experiments that certain groups on Helios have been experimenting with. Treated no better than third class citizens is it their time to rise up against those who helped create them? I was intrigued by the combinations – they are not shifters as we know them – they are part animal and part human. Some, like Fatin are more human than animal, whereas some are more animal than human but no matter what they look like, they are treated badly.
Birgit, the Valkyrie and also Eirik’s betrothed and Baraq, former Consortium officer, play a much bigger role in this story and I think that Birgit has a lot to learn about herself. She felt that it was her duty as the betrothed to go and find Eirik and rescue him. She is after all a strong Valkyrie. Her problem though is Baraq. She gave herself to him in book one and now she must deal with her feelings for Baraq and also the quest for her betrothed. Can she decide who will be the man for her?
Eirik is a strong, forceful character who doesn’t let the indignations suffered at the hands of the medics who milk him of his sperm, nor the sex acts he has to endure as a sex thrall get to him. He keeps looking for a way to escape and get revenge. At first Fatin is the focus and the brunt of his rage and anger, but soon this turns into something else. Can these two reach an understanding and can they work together to save those held captive by Aliyah the mistress of the brothel?
This was a story that had me enthralled from the beginning. There had been hints that Eirik’s kidnapping had not been accidental, that Fatin had her reasons for kidnapping royalty – against the law on Helios, but there was more to it than just that. The story was a rich blend of the new world, the life of the captives in the very upscale brothel and how they coped with what they had to do to survive. It was also an introduction to the revolution by certain parts of the population and the tensions simmering under the surface on Helios and the various social strata and the outcasts of that society.
It was also the story of how a former sex slave redeems herself, only to think that she has lost the man she finally gave her heart to. The devastation Fatin feels when she thinks that Eirik is lost to her is soul shattering. I was shattered too when I found out that Fatin’s fate was to be determined by Birgit and her father, the king. Like Fatin, I didn’t understand why Eirik didn’t seem to come to reassure her of his love for her. Instead he left her vulnerable and alone and in doubt.
What I did love about Eirik was that he didn’t judge Fatin. He accepted what she had been – in part I think because he himself had experienced the very same thing and realized how difficult such an existence was. Fatin was the one who needed convincing that Eirik didn’t blame her for what she had been and what she had done. Fatin was never an evil character – misguided perhaps, but she was totally redeemable and it was also the story of her path to redemption and love.
The lovemaking scenes in the story are so hot they burn the pages – hot, hot and hottter is the only way I can describe them! They are detailed and yet oh so sensual and beautiful as well. There may be rage and anger in some, but underneath is the special attraction, the love and the coming together of body and soul. Added to the lovemaking is the action and put all of these elements together and you have one fantastic story!
I would urge you to read book one and then also read book two! Then you will be in the same position I am in now, waiting to see if there will be another tale to add to the saga of the Vikings and their HEA’s! I certainly hope so! Great work Ms. Devlin!

At first glance, Enslaved by a Viking (The New Icelandic Chronicles #2) may seem to be a straight up erotic romance with too much sex and a miniscule plot. There’s definitely sex on almost every page, and when the characters aren’t having sex, they’re thinking about it. But there’s an actual plot and not just smut. Delilah Devlin can sure combine sensuality and eroticism with a nice balance of action and drama. She does that here with Enslaved by a Viking. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it because for me as a reader, a book can’t be sustained and enjoyable by sex alone.

Enslaved by a Viking is set in an alternate universe that's comparable to a lost in space adventure. The heir to the Icelandic throne (Iceland is a planet in this one) is prince Eirik Ulfhednar, a Viking who has been kidnapped with some of his men to be used in horrible ways. He was tricked by Fatin, a bounty hunter who came to his planet, pretended to be a whore and while she was seducing him, was able to get the upper hand. Now Eirik will be forced to become a sex-thrall for Aliyah, a Madam of a brothel on the planet, Helio. As a sex-thrall, Eirik will be forced to pleasure both men and women. Vikings are lusty creatures and you’d think they would be all gung-ho with having so many women at their disposal, but because Eirik’s freedom has been taken away, he’s more than angry. He’ll find a way to escape and then take his revenge out on Fatin.

Fatin was once a sex-thrall for Aliyah but was able to buy her freedom. Her sister Zarah is still in Aliyah’s service. Fatin wants to buy Zarah, but Aliyah sets the price to high, so that’s why Fatin has taken the Vikings for Aliyah regardless of the danger. Zarah is a much coveted addition to Aliyah’s pleasure house. Fatin will do whatever she can to save Sarah even if it means having Eirik hate her.

Eirik bides his time and does what Aliyah wants (she has a special way to keep him in line). He’s also surprised that Fatin lurks around and is not afraid of him. He comes to realize that she’s hiding something and had a reason for his capture. He’s also very attractive to her, even though he wants to punish her for her betrayal. Slowly Fatin begins to trust him and tells him why she must act the way that she does. Both will team up to bring down Aliyah and rescue Zarah while trying not to fall in love, although they may have no choice in the matter because they can’t stop enjoying each other’s bodies every chance they get.

I really have to hand it to Delilah for her world building and terminology. Enslaved by a Viking is quite the sci-fi adventure tale. Things are intense here from the emotions displayed to the amount of sex that occurs. Eirik and Fatin have a bond straight from the beginning. This plot trope is well known in romance because Fatin has the magic hoo haa. The moment Eirik slides home in Fatin’s magic hoo haa, he’s a goner. His heart belongs to her (before he admits it) although he’s forced to service women. You’d also think there would be a few sex scenes with male on male sex because it’s pointed out by Aliyah that Eirik would also have to service men, but that’s never shown. I found that odd, although there is a very short and subtly written lesbian scene between a female patron and Zarah. Delilah is a pro at writing straight sex. I’d love to see what she could do with a M/M or a F/F romance.

The sex is plenty, but it’s pretty much vanilla, meaning more missionary positions and nothing too kinky or disturbing. There are a lot of gyrating bodies and fluids being shared, pooled, flooded or dripping in any which way. Also Eirik and Fatin are great together both naked and when they’re swiping insults at one another.
These two are also chatty when they’re intimate.

Some of the prose is a bit on the purple side. How about an example?

Arousal seeped from inside her.

His gave darted down to the fingers stroking her labia. He tunneled one long digit inside. “Sweetheart, you’re wet.”

She rolled her eyes. “Of course I am. I’m filled with your seed.”

“This is you. It’s warm, thin.” He bent and licked between her folds. “Delicious.”

She snorted. “Again, you take flattery too far.”

“But I’m thirsty for your essence.”

If you don’t mind dialogue like this, or actually enjoy it, you’ll like Enslaved by a Viking.

This lusty Vikings in space tale was a pretty solid read with some kick to it with many weeping women folds and drippy manhood tools. A nice change of pace for me and perhaps a book where you may feel the same.

Enslaved by a Viking by Delilah Devlin
Paranormal Romance – Oct. 4th, 2011
4 stars

Enslaved by a Viking is the second in the author’s Viking futuristic, erotica series. In the last book, Ravished by a Viking, the Viking prince Eirik was kidnapped by a beautiful sex slave who was actually a bounty hunter in disguise!

Eirik is furious that he and other Viking men were tricked and stolen to Helio where they are being used as objects of pleasure to jaded and wealthy women. In addition, the Helios plan to use their robust Viking DNA and incorporate it into their own. Feeling violated and angry, Eirik plans revenge on the sweet bounty hunter named Fatin who captured him but if only he could stop lusting after her!

Fatin’s sole purpose is to find the money and means to free her sister, Zarah from the unscrupulous mistress who used them both as sexual slaves in her high priced whore house. While Fatin was able to buy her freedom, she despairs of freeing Zarah’s until the madam makes her a deal. If Fatin can bring her hunky Viking replacements, her sister will be freed. Driven to save her sister, Fatin kidnaps several Vikings only to discover the madam has changed her mind. Will Fatin ever free her sister and will the thoughts of the sexy night with Eirik stop haunting her?

Enslaved by a Viking was even better than the first in the series! Readers who enjoyed the prior book will find this one more fully fleshed out as the author brings in new characters namely Eirik’s fiancée, the warrior princess, who is determined to rescue him. Fatin’s sister Zarah is also another fascinating character as she and others trapped by the madam are categorized as ‘exotics.’ I would love to read a story with Zarah as a lead?! Readers will be sure to like the hero. Eirik is clearly a dominant male in the bedroom but always brings his partner pleasure! I liked how the circumstances made them enemies but their attraction to each other overcame these obstacles. Those who love erotic romances will not be disappointed as the author fills many of the pages with scenes of sexual interludes but manages to still have a solid plot. There are multiple partner scenes (MMF and FFM) and also many scenes of the hero with other women besides the heroine.

Scorching hot, this is a superb erotic romance with a lusty Viking from the future who tames his kidnapper!

Desperate to save her sister from life in a brothel, bounty hunter Fatin accepts a contract to capture Viking warriors from their home planet. But there is a complication she hadn’t considered... her attraction to Eirik, a strong warrior the others have accepted as their leader.

Eirik and the men are horrified by their fate. Torn from their families, they are locked up, kept as pets and sold nightly to the planetary elite. By day, their sperm in harvested to create children, warriors that will some day be used to make war on the Viking home world.

I was lucky enough to score an ARC of this book and couldn’t wait to dive into it.

But I have to admit that once I started reading I was slow to warm up to this book. I love a story with a strong plot, and the beginning of this one is very sex-heavy and thin on story. It’s all very hot and well written, it just felt unbalanced. As the book progressed, the plot picked up steam and I was drawn into the world.

Past the very steamy (wowza) beginning, I really enjoyed the story. Fatin’s desperation shone through, as did her understanding that she was being played by the brothel owner. She knew that no matter what, she’d never be allowed to buy her sister’s freedom, but the only option she had was to keep trying.

Eirik is just the kind of alpha hero I like. He’s big and assertive, but also intelligent and a thinker. He’s drawn to Fatin and protective of her, despite what’s she’s done to them and the animosity if the other men.

Overall, very good read once I got into it.

Eirik, heir to the Ulfhednar Kingdom, is captured and held prisoner. He has no idea how long he has been in a cell. Fatin, a bounty hunter, sold him into sexual slavery. But he swears his revenge. One day she will be the one beneath him, one day she will be the sex slave—this is his mantra.

Fatin used to be a sex slave, but she has earned her freedom. Now she is trying to earn the freedom of her sister by being a bounty hunter. Delivering Eirik was a step closer to freeing her sister. But she didn’t count on having feelings for Eirik or him getting free from his slavers.

Enslaved by a Viking by Delilah Devlin has an old world feel to it, with a futuristic twist. The blending of the old and new really made this book a memorable read for me. There is a blend of romance and angst that is really well done. Eirik is in line to be a ruler; he doesn’t take to being a prisoner well. He is a fighter, a Viking. He loves as strongly as he fights. His will and sense of justice really drew me to him. I found myself admiring Fatin, too—she is doing all she can to save her sister from a life she has lived too long herself. She is trying to do the right thing but she just didn’t take into account the feelings of her newest bounty. Or the feelings she has for him. This book has a great blend of angst and love that will make it one for my keeper shelf.

Enslaved by a Viking by Delilah Devlin has the main characters Eirik & Fatin from a futuristic fantasy world. This is a world where Fatin trades Eirik into sexual slavery to help obtain her sister's freedom. Fatin was a sex thrall (slave) who gained her freedom and became a bounty hunter to earn freedom for her sister. This led to the capture of Eirik from the Viking planet & his enslavement. Eirik vows to make Fatin his slave when he realizes who caused his imprisonment as a sex slave.

Delilah Devlin draws you into the story from the first reading of the book. The forces driving the hero & heroine make you sympathetic to both their plights. You also have an understanding of where they are coming from even if you don't believe they've made the best choices. This is a book you can't put down until the end and then you wish for more, sequel anyone?

More like 3.5, but I'm rounding down today.

On the positive side, it's an excellent read for those seeking a book to indulge their erotic fantasies. It's got quite an arsenal of erotic kink: voyeurism, menage, BDSM, etc. Unfortunately, these erotic escapades seem to occur a little too frequently for my taste.

That being said, my main problem with the book was Fatin. While she is far from the most abhorrent character I've ever read, I found her character unlikeable. It didn't surpise or upset me in the least that half of the characters wanted to bump her off. Heck, I was kind of annoyed with Eirik's protectiveness towards her, LOL.

Basically, I liked the book, but not the heroine.

Ah... And yet another winner from one of my favorite authors. As soon as this book was available, I rushed to buy it and was not disappointed.

I liked Fatin(her strength and sarcasm), but absolutely loved the Vikings. Would not mind reading a book about Zarah and Adem. I enjoyed the descriptions of the brothel and the battle in the arena. It was all very vivid. I haven't read the first book in this series but I think I'm interested in Dagr's story. Great read.

A hot, well-written book! The story-telling is great, the world-building is wonderful and the hero and heroine are perfect. There are so many stories to tell in this series that I look forward to many more books. This series is a totally different paranormal fantasy for me. I recommend it to everyone.

Maybe not as good as the first book of the serie but still a great adventure.
I have to say I never really thought Eirik and Fatin would end up this way but the whole relationship development has been so exciting to follow. The different side characters and their attitude towards te situation and Farin, tge way it evolved and ended up was a great addition.

Eirik along with 19 other Icelanders are kidnapped and sold into slavery as a breeding thrall all due to 1 woman...Fatin. The vikings want their freedom and revenge.

Really great book, Devlin hit a homerun with this sci-fi erotica. This will be one book I will definitely reread later. I can't wait to read more from this series.

This book wasn't bad but I didn't enjoy it as much as its predecessor. It didn't have the same OMG factor. I think I would rather be "Ravished by a Viking" than "Enslaved by a Viking". :-)
