Easter has come to Bikini Bottom, the underwater home of Spongebob Squarepants and his buddies, seen on the Nickelodeon TV channel. Spongy and bff Patrick Starfish are working on a parade float for Easter, but the best they can do is tie a piece of string around an egg and stick it on driftwood and call it a "float". Every one else has a float that's way superior to that of Spongy and Patrick. Squidward is the usual snitty Squidward: "I'd like to see Spongebob's float. I could use a good laugh!" So Spongy and Pat find a float left behind by some doofus and use that for the parade. Of course they win first prize, but it's a win that's undeserved, and Spongy has to think up something quick using those little grey sponge cells to confess how this whole thing really happened. Cute story which delves Cousteau like into the often murky depths of the Spongebob Universe.

Really cute! Not based off an original episode, but it feels like it could be one. A lot of fun!

Review from a young reader

“I love this book because I love Easter because we get some free eggs! Chocolate eggs, not just eggs. I wonder if the Easter bunny is real?”

My son really liked this book, thus the four stars. If it were up to me, I would have given it one star only but then that's because I have a strong dislike of anything Spongebob.

It is Easter and Spongebob and Patrick team up to make a float. The problem is, they have been slacking off instead of working on a float. Patrick makes one but it pales in comparison to all of the other floats to see. When they get the chance to use a float that isn't theirs, they take it even though Spongebob has some qualms about it. His guilt eventually wins during the parade and he confesses that they cheated. So what happens after his confession? Nothing. Nobody cares that Spongebob and Patrick cheated. Everyone is a winner and they all live happily ever after.

It wasn't as funny as the SpongeBob episodes or the other SpongeBob books. The writing was very wooden and felt a bit forced.

This was such a fun read that definitely keeps the readers attention throughout. The book is about Bikini Bottom's Easter Parade. Whoever won the Parade Float, also gets the Golden Egg award.
